Called and hung up

Called a minute ago.  I did not recognize the number, so I did not answer it.  No message left.

Since I got a call yesterday from a debt collector ( I found out it was a debt collector by finding the phone number on this website), I am going to assume that this phone number is also some undesirable trying to annoy innocent people.  For Droid users, try "Easy Filter" in the app market for blocking these pests.

These assclowns have called my cell from every state in the US and hang up every time I answer!  I don't think they are looking for me because I don't have any dealings with collectors. Can they call from so many different numbers like that?

Received call from this number but no message. Probably a telemarketing robo-call( the type which tries to reach numbers in a telephone exchange using an auto-dialer). This type of call often breaches federal law. If the caller is unknown, they always leave a message if important. Rule: Do not bother answering unless a message is left.

Got called twice from this number, no message left.  Portfolio Recovery Associates?  No idea what it could be about.

Portfolio Recovery Associates. Told me they were recording the call and it was an attempt to collect a debt that was from over 8 years ago. I always reply I will not allow myself to be recorded, it pretty much ends the whole thing right there because they can't proceed with the recording.

Received a call, 2:00pm, no message. Portfolio Recovery Associates? Who knows. Tried calling them before to find out what the call was about, there was no answer. Qué será será!!!

this is portfolio recovery a fraudulent collection agency. they find paid, old or discharged debt and try to collect it.  address po box 12914 norfolk VA 2354. don't acknowledged any debt. ask for verification of debt, written agreement with your signature.  they won't send you this because they don't have it. then send a written letter with return receipt asking them to only contact you via mail. after you find out they received this letter keep record of EVERY time they call and you can file suit against them. pass this on to stop these jerks!

This is just a scam to get your bank account info!  This company will call from different numbers in different states continuously.

here is what worked for me: since they harass me i harass them. i have begun answering the calls and just cussing them out hard core. so far it has worked no calls in 3 days

send them this with return receipt, do NOT sign it:
Per the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, cease all phone communications with me about this alleged debt. Receipt of this letter is officially being time stamped via Certified Mail. I will pursue each subsequent phone call from your office with a $1,000 per incident penalty for Fair Debt Collection Practices Act violations.

received a call from this number last nite but i did not answer and they did not leave a message... the same thing has been happening to my husbands phone...hmmm

I've got a call from this number just a few minutes ago. All they said was, May I talk to R... This is not my name so I said, This is not R... phone.
The woman on the other line said, Oh! Ok! Thanks. And hung up.
Who are these people?

Called and asked for a "Gloria" and I asked him what number he was calling because there was no Gloria at this number. he said that he has business with her. He then pressed me me an asked how long I had this number.

I got a phone call from this number a few minutes ago.  It was about a debt they said I owed Sears from 2001!  I haven't had a credit card in 15 years.  I've read that this company is fraudulent and would no longer like to receive calls from them.

called and asked for a davis zepeda???? uh no....and called right now.....didn't answer. no message!!!! stop calling me!!!!
