These people claim I owe money from 2000! I have never had a Citifinancial credit card yet they insist I owe $1500.00!

thanks to the person that listed all the numbers they call from! these jerks have been calling my phone none stop. from 3 of those numbers. on reject list they go! hmph!

Portfolio Recovery has been harassing me for years on a debt from 13 years ago and the statute of limitations has run out 10 years ago, but they bought my debt and pretend to be all official and will take me to court et cetera when I know they are just a lowlife telemarketing company with no authority and no jurisdiction.  I do not talk to them anymore, because it does not matter if you tell them you are unemployed or have 100,000 in college laon debt they might give you a few weeks or a few months reprive and then the calls begin again. I put them on my call reject list but the busturds evidently create new numbers to harass you with every few months. So I just rotate out the old rejected numbers and will rotate in this right now.

They've called my phone many times. The first call I told the individual that it was a wrong number, apparently they thought I was not telling the truth because they continue to call my phone.

Same deal as most here - didn't recognize the number...didn't answer...didn't leave a mesg...

If you answer or call them back they can call you for another 5 years.

This is not true. Depending on the state they are calling from they may not need your permission and do not need to honor your request. The laws usually apply to the one from where they are calling. Very few states have protections that would protect you otherwise.

Called tonight. They can't provide me with proof of a debt other than to say i have one. No account numbers, nothing. Scammers of the worst degree.

Per the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, cease all phone communications with me about this alleged debt. Receipt of this letter is officially being time stamped via Certified Mail. I will pursue each subsequent phone call from your office with a $1,000 per incident penalty for Fair Debt Collection Practices Act violations and this post applies to Portfolio Recovery Associates from 620-860-2755.

These people call me all the time and always from different numbers. I have asked them not to call but they still do! Annoying!

thi is another number of portfolio recovery a zombie type debt collector that has harassed us at least 15 times in the last three days with various phone numbers husband told this harassing woman he was my attorney and he told me that he really shook her up,,,,,these people need to stop harassing me  we are senior citizens and this is probably debt from over 10 years ago,again they use muptiple numbers,,,,,

I received a call from this number around 9pm i didn't answer because I didn't recognize the number. If this is a debt collector what money do they think anyone would pay during a holiday season in this economy? Secondly I have been fortunate enough not to have any current debts or any outstanding debts. The last time I was delinquent on a bill was 15yrs ago. And that was paid in full.  I have heard Clark Howard a national radio and tv host tell callers /viewers to send these companies a drop dead letter found on his website when a company is outside state limits for collecting a past due debt. And if the debt is currently due you have rights they still are not allowed to threaten or harass.
