keeps hanging up

this above number keeps calling from this number and others and do not believe it is my debt.(John OBrien)they never staste what it is and my daughter took the call as we were at a doctors appt. the guy said he would call back and his last name was gonzalez. I do not believe I owe a debt to tis company plain and simple so therefore they need to stop calling our number 0f 240 1613 in 813.

STOP FREAKING CALLING ME AS THERE WILL BE LEGAL ACTION TAKEN.

Bottom line with me and my wife is if we don't recognize the number we don't answer the call.  If someone wants to talk with either of us they need to leave a voicemail.  Plain and simple.

Just recd this call states Hutchinson KS.  Went to VM and recd 37 secs of dead air, occasional call center noise in the background.

Just got a call. Sent to vmail but of course nothing.

Called me last night

I use Xtreme Call Blocker on my Droid.  I works great.  You can assign what to do with the blocked numbers. For example: hang up, send to VM, answer with some annoying screech etc.

That only works with debt, If you acknowledge or offer to pay then it resets. They can't just start calling you again for 5 years

Actually, the collection agency needs to follow the laws in the state in which the debtor resides, NOT the other way around.  Therefore, collectors must be educated with the relevant state laws in order to be in compliance.

and they can't get it back....hahahahahahaha

These jokers are calling us to collect a debt from my wifes ex-husbands sister. Then trying to tell us she gave then this number as whre she lives. We have absolutly no contact with her, and never will.

Has anyone here filed a complaint with FCC?  Everytime I get one of these calls I report it since my phone is on the DO NOT Call list.

I got a call from this number a few minutes ago.  I missed the call but a message wasn't left so it couldn't have been too important.  Google says the area code is a Kansas number.

This company has called me from 7 different numbers. I am going to send the letter as described in an earlier post. They just called around 6:45. I almost answered it but am glad I didn't. I figure if it is important or legit they will leave a message. If I owe someone money they send me a bill which I do my best to pay in full on time. If this is a debt from when I was 17 and a freshman in college then sorry because that was 18 years ago and in Oregon the statute is 6 years. I haven't had a credit card in over 10 years and prefer to pay by check as there are so many rotten companies out there. I like to have the paper trail for proof.

Started calls yesterday, we don't answer calls from numbers that we don't KNOW...

I can have some fun with this.... I'll have to get my old Boy Scout whistle out of storage, I had just put it away after the election from dealing with Political promo calls. .

I keep receiving calls from Portfolio Recovery and wish for the calls to stop.

You aren't going to get the calls to stop by complaining about it here. You have to be proactive. Send them a cease communication letter VIA certified mail with return receipt requsted. By law they have to stop calling once they receive your letter or you can sue them for FDCPA violations.

Called to say they were with a debt collection agency about my Sears account.  We paid our Sears bill in full 2 weeks ago.  I told her I thought it was a scam call as I am in good standing with them.

She said, "Calm down, let me see if I have the right person."  She gave me a November something 1974 birthday.  I said, not mine.  She said she had the wrong person.  They called my cell phone.

I think it was a phishing expedition looking for personal information.
