    Client Services does not buy debt.  The creditors assign it to them to get it resolved for them.

    Have received two calls from these people.  They are a fake company DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION.  Most of the information that they provided was on my son and a lot of it was either incorect or out dated. They ask for my SSAN (do I sound like I fell off the truck today).  Did a surch several ways using the phone number that showed up on my caller ID (1-636-947-2321) Found nothing good about them at this numbed or the other one (1-636-724-0719)on my caller ID.  This smells of a scam to me.

    A person calling herself Sheri Murphy, using a cross directory to locate a neighbor of mine and my neighbor’s phone number, called my neighbor lying to them saying I had given their phone number to reach me by (I don’t even know this neighbor’s phone number), making my neighbor believe this was an urgent call and causing them great inconvenience to deliver this urgent message to me.  If there are not laws available to sue these people already, then there should be.  There should also be systems available whereby such collectors could have all their lines tied up endlessly to end this kind of abuse.

    I placed my home phone xxx-xxx-xxxx in the U.S. Government’s Registry effective 6/30/03 according to the email I received this afternoon from Verify@donotCall.gov. In addition I have a special screen machine to prevent unwanted business or computer generated calls. The machine plays the following message to all callers before ringing my telephone.
        “You have reached the Screen Machine and not an answering machine. Notice to all phone solicitors, place this name and number on your do-not-call list. It is now a federal offense to make this telephone ring. Fund raisers, please mail all requests. Now personal and invited business callers press 5 on your touch tone phone.”
    Despite these steps I was contacted this afternoon by “Nancy” purporting to be a friend of my neighbor Linda. Nancy stated to me that she was having difficulty contacting Linda today because Linda’s telephone was giving an unusual sound. Nancy asked me about my call screening device and wondered where I got it. She left the following phone number with me to give to Linda & ask her to call Nancy at 636-947-2321 x 4251.
    I became suspicious of Nancy and googled the telephone number she gave me 636-947-2321 and found that it was a collection agency with a large number of complaints about questionable tactics and unwanted calls. The site I used was https://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-636-947-2321
    Nancy or whoever she was willfully violated my privacy. I have no outstanding debt and no business with her collection agency. She violated your Do-Not-Call registry and she violated my Screen Machine by willfully pressing #5 in spite of the recorder warning. The warning can be heard by calling my home phone number.

    A man named Brennan Gracie called my mother's house and acted like he knew me. When my mother told him that I did not live there he asked if he could leave a message.My mother asked who he was and what did he want however he would not say. He insisted on leaving a message and would not hang up.My mother then stated one more time that I did not live there. He then called her stupid and asked if she was in kindergarten.He then called my brothers house and bothered my brother & wife several times.I spoke to his supervisor Mr. Michaels who denied everything. By law they have to remove those numbers when you request them to in writing. Don't let them bully you.

    Only for location purposes. Fair Debt Collection Practices downloaded from the Federal Trade Commission:

    § 804. Acquisition of location information

    Any debt collector communicating with any person other
    than the consumer for the purpose of acquiring location information
    about the consumer shall—

    (1) identify himself, state that he is confirming or correcting
    location information concerning the consumer, and, only if expressly requested, identify his employer;

    (2) not state that such consumer owes any debt;

    (3) not communicate with any such person more than once unless requested to do so by such person or unless the debt collector reasonably believes that the earlier response of such person is erroneous or incomplete and
    that such person now has correct or complete locationinformation;

    (4) not communicate by post card;

    (5) not use any language or symbol on any envelope or in the contents of any communication effected by the mails or telegram that indicates that the debt collector is in the debt collection business or that the communication relates to the collection of a debt;

    #'s 4 and 5 are rarely violated but companies such as this one violate #'s 1, 2, and 3 all the time. Apparently they could care less about the BBB so file your complaint with the FTC. You can do it on-line.

    They've called and harassed my ex-wife (there's a silver lining to everything, isn't there? :) and my parents. Perhaps my neighbors are next? They called my office and told my secretary (really my wife, but they didn't know that) that they were investigating legal action. This is illegal, but they don't care. Obviously the harassing of relatives, et. al., works because they keep doing it despite complaints. They are not lawyers so they cannot sue anyone. If they were lawyers but in another state, they cannot sue.

    Complain to the FTC. Send a certified letter for them to stop calling. Have a lawyer write them a letter, if you can afford one.

    I can beat all of these.  These people have been calling my house every morning at 8:15 am for the last week.  NOT looking for me or my family, but asking questions about someone down the street.  They even asked my wife to write a note to give to the people and tell them to call back.

    Its insane!

    Did any of you ever think that these collectors are simply doing their jobs?  Some of you truly owe a past-due bill, so deal with it.  Stop looking for a way out and own up to your obligations.  I am sick and tired of hearing how bad bill collectors are because they are asking people to simply pay the debts that they originally signed up for.  This is why some of you are debtors...you could be spending this time on making some money to get yourselves out of the mess you created.  Instead you hang out on the internt and bash companies because they had the "nerve" to try to collect a bill that you racked up in the first place!

    For those of you who don't owe anything and the calls were made in error...this was not for you.  It was for the true debtors who stole from the credit card companies by racking up debt that they can't pay for.

    Ever lose a job thru no fault of your own? Ever have a death in the family that took every penny you had?  Worse, have you ever had a child diagnosed with cancer and you had to quit your job to take care of them?  Sometimes, identity is stolen and your financial life is ruined.

    Not everyone incurs debt and then runs from it. I'm sick of goody two shoes like you who think that anyone that is down on their luck is trash.

    After my identity was stolen and my life ruined - literally - My family was moved to NC for a management position with a major well known company.  2 months after working I fell down the stairs and broke my hip AT WORK.  5 weeks later they fired me on trumped up charges stranding me and my family 1200 miles from family and loved ones.  Unemployment doesn't go far and we have lost a year old Explorer and had to go on reduced lunches at my childrens school which I've never had to do in my life.

    Situations change, life throws curve balls and sometimes you have to pay the electric before you pay for a freaking magazine bill (this company is hounding me over a damn Readers Digest subscription that I actually paid for after all) Sometimes we have to pay for groceries before we pay for the Visa bill that we haven't charged ANYTHING on since we lost our job.

    So why don't you shut up and go live your cushy life thinking we are all losers.  IF they day comes that you are the recipient of such mis-fortune. Maybe then you will understand. Just don't come crying to us.

    Use the call forwarding feature on your phone - and forward the calls to a telephone number that you know is disconnected.  They will stop calling because the computer they are using to dial the number will recognize the tone.

    This works for all of these types of calls.

    Eventually, you can unforward them because they will have stopped calling.

    Completely appalled
    This company is without a doubt the most disgusting corporation I have ever had the displeasure of working with.  I was informed of a debt I have with one of their clients and was asked to pay it off immediately.  I asked for an address and letter from the company, Client Services, telling me about the debt and my payment options...the man I asked to send me this letter said that he was not allowed to do that and would transfer me to a manager.  I spoke with Alan Newman (the "manager" ) and told him I was not comfortable making payments over the phone and asked him to please send me a letter with all the pertinent information and an address to send a certified check to.  He started yelling at me telling me he deals with "people like you" every day and all I was doing was trying to set up road blocks and he "knew" I was full of it and I wasn't really going to pay.  HELLO......if I had no intention of paying, why the heck would I return their call?  They refuse to let me wire them money, or send a certified check, and swear they can only have my bank account information and withdrawal the money each month.  Does anyone know if this is true?
    Anyway, by the end of the conversation, he told me that he believed I would pay, and said he would send a letter, but I had to arrange a payment before I got the letter using my checking account information.  I don't think this is a smart move...to send a payment before I get documentation from them stating exactly what the balance, payment options, and billing address are. Advice?
