I received same, and then some, since I responded. When they leave voice messages, the sound is garbled.

Always a different name on phone of e-mail messages.

I must admit I get hung up on scams like this. I am so intrigued by them. I am going to see how deep the rabbit hole goes. I assume the CAPP portion of the email is where the scam begins. I will return the requested documentation, and let you know what happens next. Here is the latest email received from Morgan:

      From Morgan Franks

RE:  Moving forward on electrical Jobs

It appears we are ready to go forward with the arrangement concerning the jobs we’ve been communicating about.   We have tried to keep you completely updated by both email and phone  as new issues or  changes have come up on our side.   I want to thank you for your patience on this one.  We had been moving slowly with some caution on our side because there was a lot more at stake for us down the road than just these initial jobs.   This involves future additional jobs over five years that are tied into this one  via a network of other projects and the idea is to use the same contractor and personnel for all of it.

Very Important  -   The information below must be reviewed and addressed in order to go forward on our side as planned beginning next week. The parts that are underlined below are specifically needed from your side.

The four attachments with this email pertain to moving forward and I have included an explanation for each below.  Please review in the specific following order below:

Attachment 1   -  Memo 5 – Contractor     -   This is the previous memo I sent you only in case you did not receive it.  It updated everyone about the last issues we addressed that came up on our side.  If you received this memo, you might want to skip this one unless you care to review it again.

    Moving Forward – Instructions

Important Note:   Although we have covered everything now from our side via voice and email, if you feel after reviewing this email there are still any questions on your side or you think we need to take more time and converse by phone before sending out the memo to everyone to schedule with you, please let me know. If you need to reach me, do not reply to this email address. Instead, use the following contact information specifically for this project: electric@jordan-franks.com or Tel direct 661-228-3140.  I will be the only person communicating with you from now on.   However, this email should address all remaining questions.

If there are no questions or issues on your part at this time. DO NOT respond to me or this memo at this time. Instead, follow the instructions below in order to move forward on your end. The personnel indicated below will advise me when they have received what they need from you, which will obviously tell me you have moved forward. For this reason, do not worry about responding to me if there are not actual issues or questions.

    Please Follow Instructions Below:

Attachment 2   -  Occupant Memo  -    The goal now is to put the attached memo out to all the unit occupants with your contact information so that they can schedule with you as soon as they can work it into their agendas over the coming months.   ( See again attached  “occupant memo” ).   That memo will direct each occupant to you as the one they must use to get this done.   The memo will go out on Management /Our letterhead and the place that is shaded in green on the memo will contain your specific contact information for each occupant to reach you for scheduling and estimates. Remember, you are not estimating or bidding against competition. Per the memo, they are not to use other contractors.

Please verify and send your specific contact information that will be placed in the green area of the memo.  Even though you may have already included this information in communications before, please type it out in the exact order and way it should appear in the memo including any website or email information you wish to include.  You do not need to fit your information into the actual green box on the sample.  We will do that part.  Just type it out in a normal email so we can copy and paste it into the memo format.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  Please do NOT send this information to me.   Instead, forward this email to our executive assistant Alice Miller so she knows what it pertains to and simply type out your contact information for her in the email so she can copy and paste it in the memo.  Her address is alice@jordan-franks.com   Once again, do NOT send this information to me.  Send it to Alice who has been assigned to coordinate the memo only..

However, please do not contact Alice for any other matter.  She cannot answer questions in general. I will be available for everything else as your primary contact.  My contact information for this project once again is  Morgan Franks -   TEL 661- 228-3140     EMAIL   electric@jordan-franks.com

Attachment 3  -   CAPP Overview       We have already registered with CAPP on our end to make this work.  As mentioned in previous communications, CAPP will advance 70% of what the job requires and pay you directly before the job begins.  The occupant of the unit pays the balance.  Per our agreement with them,  once they advance you the money, they will deduct the advanced money from our account after four months to reimburse themselves.  We covered earlier in the original overview memo that we would both need to be registered with this program in order to receive funds from them for some of the jobs.  This attachment   “CAPP overview page”    gives a brief look at how it works pertaining to your side of the operation.  This is the funding program that was referred to previously in the project overview that we originally sent you and was covered as well in the meeting archive.  We estimate this mechanism will be used on maybe 20-30% of the jobs.  It became the only solution available for those cases where money would have been an issue for getting the job done.  Without this solution, we would have a problem with that 20-30 % of the units.  This procedure appears to solve that money issue for those needing to use this mechanism.

Attachment 4  -  SA-SER2    This is the CAPP agreement  which goes into more detail about how you are paid from their system and what to do.

Look for the following line in the middle of that page:

Current Approved Groups/Companies for The Business include:

Fill in    Jordan-Franks and clients    on that line because it will alert CAPP that it applies to our contract with them.  Once again,  we are already signed on with them.   Please sign and fax or email the agreement for CAPP to them to register on your side.   Do NOT send that agreement to us.  We do not need a copy of it.  They will inform us  when they have everything they need.  Just be sure to follow up with the people at CAPP for what they need when they send you their confirmation after they receive what you send them.    NOTE:  They do not need anything else form you such as estimates at this moment.  Estimates would occur when the unit is seen after occupant schedules and CAPP is supplied a copy of the estimate to know how much money to advance to you.

The memo from us will go out to the occupants of each unit when all the above is in place.

We would like to thank you again for your consideration in working with us on coordinating electrical services.

Another electrical contractor here. Same initial call from Don, then email to Tim & several others, then get a call from Morgan Franks with the long recorded meeting. Received e mails from Morgan with forms to fill out. $68 fee to a payment processing co. I know it's a scam but I e mailed questions & want to see how far it goes, short of me paying any $ or signing any document which I will not do.

I received a call from this number that led me down many e-mails, but with no contact with anyone.  My company does electrical contracting.  This company has yet to ask for money, but it sounds like this is about to happen soon.

I work for a printing company. I received a call from Henry Jordan saying he worked for Century Film and would have print jobs for flyers, posters, invitations, etc. for the next year or so.He left the number 641-715-3900, but said to first contact him at henry@centuryfilm.com. Centuryfilm.com seems to be a legit site belonging to an independent film productions company. I could find no connection from the site to a Henry Jordan. It probably is a scam, but I did send the initial email before googling the number;-(

I just received a plain yellow postcard (postmarked Springfield, MO) in the mail that read:

        <<I NEED YOU>>
Could you use an extra $500 per month by working two hours per day?
Tap into it right now and learn how you and other's can fire your boss in 100 days
        For more information visit:
        www.LeaveYourJobNow.com or
        Call Andrew @ 1-239-257-4578

(then badly handwritten beneath all this...)

         CALL NOW: 641-715-3900 EXT: 230188

Fwiw, I'd been responding to job openings on Craigslist.  The CL ads looked legit, except they didn't provide a company name.  Wondering if this is where these guys got my address....?

How about that, getting a call from former Dallas Maverick great Mark Aguirre? I'd imagine Magic Johnson and that Bird character could be calling you soon, too, after all, they wore Converse shoes as I believe Aguirre did as well. I wish I'd get calls from some of these famous people.

Bottom pic on page shows your "caller" at far right, promoting the 80s Converse Weapon shoe. Look out for calls from Isaiah Thomas, Kevin McHale, and Bernard King as well.
