This number called me around midnight when my phone was off. I'm not sure who it is but I've gotten several calls from this number in the middle of the night. When I try and call back the call doesn't go through. It's starting to make me uncomfortable

The phone rang and the text from facebook came in at the same time. Facebook is supposed to just text me a security code when I log in after shutting down the cpu.

Why would Facebook be calling us? Anyone have the answer. I'd appreciate it as I keep getting these calls from 650-285-1001.  Thankyou.

I have gotten quite a few text from this number. Also random hours. I have called the number and I get the number did not go though. This is very upsetting when it is durning odd hours, scared that something might have happen to a love one!

If you have your Facebook set up to require a code for a login on an unrecognized device, you can ask it to call you with the code. That is this number. If you keep getting this, either someone is trying to get into your account, OR someone used your number as the contact for their Facebook. Either way - that's what this number is.

i did just st up a facebook account, i have been locekd out of my personal facebook account for almost two yeear, even with all three codes icant acces it. i havemany wierd things going on with all my tehcnology, i thought it was my lack of computer knowleadge, but i think its something more :<

I requested a code yesterday but never got the call when I hit the call request button. I got the call at 1:31 am this morning and it was silent for 4 seconds then said "Goodbye" and I'm really freaked out now!

It's the number that FB uses to verify anything that requires you to prove you're you within Facebook. It only works at the moment they call. If you call back, you won't reach anyone. It's automated. If you're getting calls at this number, A) someone is trying to access your FB account or buy advertising on Facebook through your account. B) You recently got a new number, and someone still has this number associated with their FB account.

Automated call from Facebook to confirm new browser sign-in.  Can happen if you clear cookies from your computer, and try to sign in on FB.  It's calling to confirm your identity.

when you try to log on from an unknown browser, facebook will text you a code or call you with a code for you to enter as verification. no threat here guys. I just experienced this myself and i was like REJECT- I dont know anyone in CA- but then I realized I had accidentally clicked the "call for code" button instead of "text me a code" button when I was logging in on a public computer. Hope this puts your mind at ease :)

Its a scam , 650-285-1001 is one of there #s they act like they will sell u (((( medical cannabis )))) took money then said wait for ups shipment notify next morning then supposely consultant with delivery emals u n says they demand $850.00 for security stamp whitch is ((()bull [***]))))more for delivery or they will go to cops on ur delivery , i texted fisrt guy back n he said no way n i said yea n u know got/damn well whats going on n he said hold on let me call n about 5 seconds later he says bro its for security its no problem u will get ur money back tomorrow but u have to pay today r u go to jail if cops know what u got n i said im affiliated with some n i will go for u because i have actually gotten anything yet u [***] lieing cheating back stabbing [***] n i called cops n fbi n gave all info on basterds , im sure it wasnt his real name gut fisrt guy was (((( david wilson )))) 925-421-6784 was the second number too, n they hang out on facebook on diff cannabis sites n other things n one of the money ppick  up locations that they want you to send money is to atlanta georgia & the (((( reveiver name )))) is (((( byron steven ruiz ))))

So it sounds to me like you are trying to make an illegal purchase across state lines (Marijuana is still against federal drug laws) and were taken by scammers.  You poorly written post also indicates that you spent way too much time smoking and not enough time learning.  Your post is laden with vulgar words and what looks like racial abriviations to avoid the filter.

This was an automated call from Facebook that I requested. I was trying to verify a FB Group that I administer, and I requested this call to get a 4-digit code number to enter online. It doesn't work very well-- I had to do it 4 times in order to get it to actually tell me the code. But it is NOT a telemarketer, unless someone else is spoofing this number.

I have NEVER had a Facebook account and have had my phone number for well over a year and is unlisted.  I do not give it out either.  I received this call from alleged FACEBOOK at 1:30 in the morning with a numeric code stating if I did not request it, disregard it.  Easier said than done since I have never had social networking.  I don't believe this was from FB.
