Thanks, LJ. I called my cell phone using Skype and didn't answer, and this is the number that appeared.

I did the same (called from Skype my cell phone) and this number appeared...

Just got a call at 1045.  Hindu accent.  Knew my name, but I hung up.  Weird!

Got a call yesterday from this number..just happened to notice it as I was checking Caller ID  since we don't have voice mail. The number 661-748-0240 appeared above as "BKFD MAIN, CA.
I did not, nor do I plan to, call the number back, but out of curiousity as to its validity, came to this website to check it out. I see that several of you have posted complaints, etc about this number. I'll be ignoring it as I do many others that appear to be scams...next step is to discontinue service!

I started getting these calls a few weeks back and two were very objectional so I hope no children get them.  Now if I don't know # I do not answer.  They can leave a message..

Did anyone post anything to Craigs List with their number in the post in the days before these calls started?

@ Mel same here that number called me but at 12 sumthin in the midnight and i was sleepn so i called back and it said the same thing..

This must be some generic skype number b/c it showed up on my called ID and I didn't answer due to weird area code. when I listened to the message, it was actually a friend calling from Ireland.

I am an ederly woman and this idiot called said he was from Microsoft and there were some type of reports from his office that my computer was infected with several virus.  To make a very long story short, I allowed him to connect to my computer and he supposedly took care of the viruses which cost me $70.00 dollars and a few weeks later he called and said that for $60.00 more he could make sure that I would never get another virus and would never have to make any more payments.  I was a stupid old lady and feel for this scam and he later called back and said I had not finished paying and I finally got smart and told him to stop calling me and never call my number again.  I may be old and not very smart but I finally could see through all his scam.  He called agin today....even an old lady knows what NO means!

I am getting harrassing calls from this number because I listed an ad on Craigslist for a room for rent. Some woman (who sounds like she has an Asian accent and is a little slow) keeps calling me from this number and then immediately from an unkown number. She did this several times today after I hung up on her.

Received a call 7/30/12 from man with heavy, thick Indian accent.  Said he was calling to inform us that we "won a prize!"  Went on to list a trip, new vehicle, TV and said we'd have to drive to Lake Geneva, WI to claim it.  Told him we are on Do Not Call list, remove us immediately and we are reporting him to FTC.  And, we did. https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx.  Reported to BBB also. https://www.bbb.org/consumer-complaints/file-a-complaint/get-started

I am only 12 and this guy called me from this number saying he will rape me im only 12 and he knows my name i am very scared one because he knows my name and two he said really disturbing things anyone have help?!!

Some deep voiced man is threatening my 12 year old son from this number.  this is a sexual offense the things he said.

I'm continually getting calls from this number.  It started on my Skype on my cell, then my home phone and now for the past two days on my cell.

Please get these people to stop. I called them back and it said I couldn't get through because it was a skype call. What is the deal?

I've received 2 phone calls from this number today - both times no voice mail was left.

Toaday aug 2, 2012 at 1:55 pm calling me about a cat that I haveand kept asking me about a cat, They even know my name, Debi dont you have a cat. I said I dont have a cat - I knew it was a funny call, this person did not speak English and it was cut in and out. I hung Up

I called myself from Skype, and this was the number that came up. It's probably the number that comes up whenever anybody makes a call from Skype, whether it's a friend, a prank caller, or a scam artist.
