- Tam replies to anonymousHello I had the same call on today. I was so upset because I knew I did not write a bad check . The same thing they told you is what they told me. He worked for Jackson and Jackson Law Group and said I wrote a damn check for $350. Then the check was from 2011. He said the Loan company had been trying to reach me. I told him , that is a lie. I told him I have proof that no monies was ever dispensed to my account. I will be reporting them. It pissed me completely off. Why would you do this hardworking people . They can kiss my grits.

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans
Washington, D.C.
December 07, 2010 FBI National Press Office
(202) 324-3691
The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.
According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.
The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers. - monicai recieved a call also stating that i needed a lawyer for some charges on a loan that i never had...fraud

- Larry EadsGot a call this morning from this number, as State Farming Fraud Department. I don't answer calls from area codes I'm not familiar with. She left a voice message claimng her agency had run my social and I owed money. She said I had 24 hours to call their Fraud Department or an arrest warrant would be issued for my arrest. And that it would be turned over to my state. Something like this was pulled on me a couple of years ago, but these people actually had my cell phone #, work # and my social. These dead beats need to find something else to do.

- kimCount me as one of the many that got a call from these scammers. A Miss Brown from State Farming Fraud Dept yada yada yada. She never mentions anyone's name of who she's looking for or anything else. Wonder what they do if the number belongs to a household where more than one person lives? They're all going to jail! LOL Just a bunch of scary sounding legal gooblydygook. Whatever. Wish I'd been here for the call or I'd have had some fun with her. Not going to waste my time calling back. Scum!
- Caller: State Farming Fraud Dept
- lol at kitchen table scammersI got this call from Miss Brown too. I will admit at first this scared me too. I had to listen to the voicemail at least 10 times to understand her garbled voice. I would assume anyone working a job where being clear and concise, it would be important to know how to speak clearly and professionally over the phone. I reported this to my state police who laughed at the ridiculous scam. I filed a report with the F TC. Also I filed a report with my attorney general. And when I was done with that I would still bored so I googled any and all law firms with a similar name and informed them that a likeness of their name and a law firm was being used in a telephone scam. I thought I would make a little bit of trouble for them.
- Caller: Mrs Brown
- Call type: Debt collector
- sunshine78I just got a message from this number also stating that if I did not call back within 24 hrs a warrant would be issued for my arrest.

- Mel| 1 replyI got a rude call this morning, but she talked so fast and I didn't understand what she was saying. Wasn't sure if it was a recording because I asked her several times what her name was and what company she was calling from. She just kept talking about me being arrested, etc. I finally hung up and called back the number. I got a Miss Lee? She wanted a bunch of information, and again wouldn't give me any details. I just hung up and thank goodness looked on the net for fraud! It was a scary call, very upsetting, I feel much better now knowing it's a scam. Thank you all for putting your experiences out there so we know what's going on. I'm on a do not call list, don't know how they get my number?
- Brenda replies to MelGot the same call. They were looking for my daughter who is 16. Ms Brown was scared of me by the time I got done with her. Reverse psychology works every time. HaHa the jokes in them. Bunch of low life scammers wasting my time.
- KassieI periodically receive calls from them about a payday loan I know nothing about. They've harassed family members and every time I call I ask them to send me whatever it is they think I owe. They offered to send me an email which provides 0 information. I asked them for their mailing address to send a letter and they don't have one. No fax number - nothing! I asked them for the payday loan company info so I can speak with them and again they don't have it. They disappear every once in a while and make threats they are bringing me to court - haven't seen anything in literally 1 year. They think if they talk firm with you and threaten you with court you with fold - don't do it. It's a scam.

- matt88These calls are scams. I'm a police officer in PA and I have received a call. Do yourself a favor and report the calls to your local police and then the FBI by filing a ic3 report. http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx I educated these people that they could be charged federally and locally for what they are doing
