- lm replies to Joan JoslinJust so you know...charities are exempt from the National Do Not Call Registry. So even if you are on the list, charities can still call you.
- Me :) replies to E2's MomWow. Lots of drama here. I give weekly to them. It is for a great cause. I hope they are not a scam. But who are we to judge? Hu? If you give with out restrictions you shouldnt have to worry about it. It is for God to judge, not us. Thanksfully!!
- Think people replies to MattI see a lot of dumbass comments out here. I don't believe in giving anyone something they dont deserve. I truely love the concept and donate regularly. They call weekly, and I set stuff out for them if I have it. No more dragging stuff to Goodwill. Its heaven sent, especially for all you schmucks out their with your Hybrids and "Smart" cars that can't hold a roll of toilet paper. Get over it and do some good.
- Arkansas Mom replies to GreggGod Bless You for what you have done and are doing!
- What??? replies to Quin Sims| 1 replyI honestly was curious about it being legitimate so I was looking up the site. But really, "who cares"??? I have someone calling me asking for "unwanted" clothing items in my home. Take the opportunity to clean out your closets and say "Thank You" to the person willing to carry it off for you.
- Avid Donor replies to want my name it is JOAN remember me| 23 repliesIts a dang shame that people like you would go through the extent of saying your contacting the FBI, going to court and so on w/out doing any research. Nspire Atlanta is not any different the American Kidney Services or other nonprofit organizations. The reason they are calling your elderly mother is not because they picked her # like most telemarketers do it is because she has previously dontated to the organization. The federal law states that these organization are to call from 6pm-9pm m-th saturday morning between 8-12 or evenings 6pm-9pm and sundays 6pm-9pm. All she has to do is ask the representative not to contact her again and they will delete her off the list, just like w/ everything she might receive another phone call. I DO NOT work for any of these organizations but I have done my research!! I asked AKS not to contact me again regarding donations as I give my dontations to my local church and they have never contacted me again. No need to be rude about it sure these calls are disruptive but why get all bent about it????
- Avid Donor replies to xxx| 7 repliesThere is no physical address because there is Hateful people like you in the world take 2 minutes out of your day and read their website, the needy are the volunteers, they will receive an outfit and some shoes so they have the appropriate attire to look for a job along with developing some skills! Others are people like my neighbor who donates her time to AKS and calls people who have previously donated from home. People who donate like myself do it because I rather someone benefit from my used clothes or broken hh items than me just tossing them and they ending up in our overfilled landfields!! Horrible people have made people like you SCARED of the unknown and i feel sorry for you because you will live your life in fear and that is not living. Stop living in fear and be open minded not everyone is out to get you. With every organization, company or enterprise their are flaws, learn and move on
- DO NOT CALL LIST replies to Avid Donor| 3 repliesNSPIRE is not a legit Charity!! They continually change their name to stay one step ahead of the law. In the past this SHAM has been known as CURE, CLOTHING PICK UP, and now apparently NSPIRE. A local Atlanta T V Station did an investigative report on them a couple of years back and discovered they sell the donated goods at a thrift store and very very little goes to charity. The majority of the money goes into the Operators pockets. When a business continually harasses you with phone calls after being asked not to you can be sure they are not legitimate.
If you want to donate to this SCAM then that is your business, but for me I only donate to LEGITIMATE Charities. - Donovan replies to Quin Sims| 1 replyIf you have been donating to Nspire, then you are clearly "Quin the Idiot", because they are not a worthy operation.
- NumberBoy replies to Peter Pann| 3 repliesIt isn't realistic to think that any one person could list all of the reasons why you should avoid the charming people at Nspire, or all of the reasons you might wish to see them out of business.
This is particularly true because they hide behind so many phone numbers. and each number gets its own page on 800notes. Since some of you might like to see, or even post to, these additional pages, here is a list of some of them:

678-462-3335 - lpri replies to Peter Pann| 1 replyLots of organizations have thrift stores to make money for the causes. They sell the items donated. Why do you resent that? Maybe you would rather put your items in the dump? Goodwill Stores ring a bell? Check out the website. NSPIRE Outreach is a non-profit organization, ID # 58-2468623 and donations are tax deductible.
- Diane replies to lpriWhy? Because these folks apparently are not selling the items they receive and sending the money to the needy. They are keeping most of the money. We are not hard-hearted. If you want to give items to folks who are going to sell it and pocket the money, fine. But don't delude yourself that these folks are charitable. Goodwill, Salvation Army and other charities do operate thrift stores, but most of the proceeds from those operations goes to support their charities.
I couldn't find Nspire listed on a charitable web site that I use, leading me to suspect that they're not a legitimate charity. I used their TAX ID number, too. I can throw up a tax ID number, too.
Here's a TAX ID 32-29494853. That doesn't make me a charity. - Diane replies to Peter Pann| 2 repliesOkay, I did a little digging. There is a website called GuideStar
http://www2.guidestar.org/Home.aspx
They track charities and I found NSpire listed in Orlando, Kentucky and Lawrenceville. None of these organizations had a financial information form on file. Charitable organizations are, by law, required to file form 990s listing the salaries paid to their top individuals, where there money comes from, and where their money goes. None of these were listed on this site.
Big red flag to me, especially if they're aggressively telemarketing themselves.
There's a big need in the community. If you truly want to help people in need, I'd avoid this one. All the messages of support on here could be from their employees. - Diane| 1 replyI got a call from them this morning ...awakened out of a sound sleep...and they asked if i wanted them to notify me via e-mail of the next pick-up AND I STUPIDLY GAVE THEM MY E-MAIL ADDRESS. I had had calls from them before wherein they said they were helping youth, etc., etc. Knew as soon as I hung up what I had done!!!!!!!!!
- Caller: Inspire clothing drive
- Madodesa replies to Peter Pann| 4 repliesNspire... they are legit.. I donate to them.
- Carol replies to Avid Donor| 3 repliesI call BS...I've NEVER donated to this organization; I'm on the No Call Registry and I get at least one phone call per day. I've had to take medical disability retirement from work for a serious health problem. There are other ways to get clothing donations. Something's not right about this being on the up and up.
- Carol replies to You scare me| 1 replyI've repeatedly tell them that we regularly donate to the MUST ministry in our local community. We have children in our schools here who depend on the kindness of MUST ministries for both food and clothing. When I tell them that one day and the same perso is the one calling the next morning and the next and the next, there's a problem. Do they just keep calling the same tired list? Even if they aren't shady, which I'm not convinced they aren't, they do a really poor job of representing their organization, whoever they are. I donate and you take it for granted that because you question the organization or their status as a non-profit or for profit organization that you would throw your used clothing in a trash can? That certainly doesn't speak well for the organization if you are a typical supporter. Bullying, insulting and pestering people doesn't work for an organization seeking donations. They aren't local either.
- Carol replies to NumberBoyThey are also calling my cell phone and home phone. If they are being paid, they need to be trained. The callers are either rude or sound as if somone woke them from a deep sleep. I donate..and I've told them who I donate to and the calls continue EVERY DAY on both my phone.
- Carol replies to Madodesa| 2 repliesDo your research. If you want to make donations to a needy organization, there are plenty out there. This one has red flags all over the place. I have seen the work done at the MUST Ministries in my area and know that they truly go to people in need. This place???????
- Carol replies to deleted postWhat kind of wonderful experience did you have with NSpire? Work for them maybe? See below complaint filed against them I found on the internet. Seems like this person is well acquainted with them too and doesn't share your rich experience.

This company is exploiting homeless people. This company is housing five people in two bedroom apartments, having homeless people work nine hours a day, and giving them $50 dollars a week to survive on. On top of that this company is charging the homeless people $400 to live in a two bedroom apartment with four additional people. They claim that they are holding on to the homeless clients money until the end of a year's term, but does not offer their clients their money with interest at the end of the year's term. Within the company's 5 year term they have graduated probably 10 people at best. So their success ratio is less than one percent. In addition, this company makes the homeless do various chores without additional pay on their days off. This company hides behind a church, and gets away with unethical practices. The homeless clients are also being forced to go to the nspire church whether or not it is in agreement with their personal religion. The homeless clients are being forced to adhere to whatever ruling the nspire commititee desires. They also make them exercise three days a week with a one regimen fits all, on top of nine hours a day work schedule. Plus the trainer is not a professional trainer. The government or the better business bureau needs to investigate this company because they are only helping themselves by exploiting the homeless people who are in dire need.
