not true, avid donor -- I've NEVER donated a single thing to these people but they still call continuously, and have for at least three years. And yes, I do research and wondered, "how does a legit charity operation justify sending semi trucks all over the South to collect used items and bring them back to Atlanta?" That information was from the one time I answered the phone, but was also on their website at the time. And ironically, AKS is the only organization I donate to because I've researched them, like them -- and I get one polite phone call a month to see if I will have anything to put out that month. Plus I know that kidney dialysis, which is what AKS supports, is terribly expensive. Look at all the complaints about nspire: they mean something.

That is not true...they called me and I have NEVER donated to them. I think they call to see who is hoe during the day and if no one answers they come to your house and rob it! Or if someone sounds elderly they scam them out of money. Check Charity Navigator and see what they say.

What is their registered name with the State? Tax ID #? Scam...I looked and they are not registered.

That is EXACTLY what I thought. they call to see if you are at home or if you sound edlerly and go from there. The next time they call I am going to tell them I have a big dog and a gun.

I work at the place that alot of you are talking about.... now I am not in the program I work there... I know the program is doing as it says and I have seen all the good work the program and Mr. Kennard has done especially for the children. I know there are frauds that are out there but these programs are not. Alot of my co workers were homeless when they came into this program and now have real jobs, a home and a stable life ... if we had more people like Mr. Kennard then the world would be alot better.

yes there is such an organization yes but they take all sorts of things i am sitting here waiting on them now they said they would be here this morning

I have given clothing, etc. to Nspire for some years now. Starting around the end of 2012, they would call, but my items weren't picked up. Just a week or so ago, I got a call to see if I had anything I would like to donate.
I told the man that the last two times the items weren't picked up. He apologized. I said I would give them one last chance. I got my usual reminder call the night before. Thursday, April 11, 2013 they never picked up my two boxes of clothing. I was home all day and had my boxes out on time. My address is shown clearly in the yard and you could clearly see the boxes from the street with NSPIRE in magic marker on them. I called and emailed each of the three times they didn't pick up. Never heard a word from them. Three strikes and YOU ARE OUT!!!! There are so many other charitable organizations that need donations and will pick-up as promised.

I agree with the poster who feels like calling the FBI or getting an order against inspire.  I'm on the national No-Call List but it does not stop these people from calling me on Dec. 26 (can't even enjoy my holiday) or late in the evening (up to 9pm).   One Saturday I was called at 8:30am.    What if iI wanted to sleep in?  

I don't hear from them for awhile, then they start their excessive calling, every day for 3 weeks or so, lay off a month, then start over.   Really, I feel like I'm being harassed.    I give to other charities but would NEVER give to Inspire, just for the reason that they hound you.   I never get harassing phone calls from other people.    4 million people live in my city, how is it that they call me that frequently?

As a previous "employee" of the AKS I know for a fact there are people who have asked to be removed from call sheets but are still being called. THAT is harrassment. And not all the numbers given to solicitors are people who have donated before. Some people don't even answer their phones. It is only commission pay, and the supervisors badger the solicitors if they don;t get a certain quota per week,which I think is dispicable since it IS commission only, so if you get a bad call area then you make no money. And you have to pay your phone bill,buy envelopes and stamps to send call sheets back to the office(?!), and still try to maintain a positive attitude when people are irrate that the service keeps calling them despite their request to be removed. This is NOT just my opinion, a friend of mine worked for them, and quit as well, because the persistant "badgering" from her supervisor was equivalent to them paying us $10 per hour. They are ridiculous!! I tried to stay with it as a charity job,but couldn't deal with my supervisors negative feedback. Shameful!!!!!

yes! I completely agree!!!!! and the supervisors are ridiculous in their behaviour toward the solicitors. If they would SCREEN the phone numbers they mail out, and hire COMPETENT drivers, it wouldn't be such a failure. People get angry when they have asked to be removed but still get calls, drag stuff out for pickup and no one shows up,etc and I can't blame them!!!! AKS needs to clean their act up!!!! I tried to stick with it to be charitable, but my STUPID-visor kept giving thinly veiled "threats" that someone in the main office was teling her if my numbers didn't get higher, she couldn't send me a call sheet every week. Ans, she told me, AKS was/is considering making people make the calls fronm a call center...yeah,RIGHT!!!!! let's see how well that works out for them!!! They will have to pay more than commission to get someone to drive to a call center to work for them!!! What a joke they are  =/

lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! exactly why I quit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Harrassing people IS a crime, and should NEVER be a practice of a "charitable" organization!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They should screen their call sheets begore sending them to their solicitors! AND, if they TRULY want to be charitable, they should PAY their solicitors an hourly wage instead of making them "hustle" for their check. And of they don't get many donations, they make NO money... just PITIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

your husband must be a driver. lucky him. the aks pays thier solicitors 2.50 per pickup IF they get 32 or higher. so, you call this sheet of over 300 numbers,they tell you to call the sheet atleast three times, for 6 consecutive days. then alot of times, even if people DO scheduele a pickup, "miraculously", when pickup day comes, apparently(according to aks) some of these same people you JUST talked to the night before to confirm, "forget" or "have a change of heart" and "nothing" is left out to be picked up!!! YEAH RIGHT!!!!!! I say HOGWASH and THAT is one of the MANY reasons I quit. Plus, I don't like feeling like I am harrassing people when I call them. And if they have asked to be removed,that is EXACTLY what theses "charitable" orgabizations are doing!!!!! SMH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! =(

HAS YOUR MOTHER TRIED TO FIND A JOB LATELY, CLEANING TOILETS? THERE ARE PEOPLE ON THE STREET THAT ARE MENTALLY ILL AS THEY HAVE NO PLACE TO GO. ALSO SINGLE MOTHERS ARE LIVING OUT OF THEIR CARS. SHOULD YHEY DRY UP AND DIE BECAUSE YOUR YO SELFISH YO HELP. i'LL PRAY FOR YOU.

I'm a solicitor and we get lead list from the supervisors. We have no idea you've asked to be removed from the list. That's no reason for you to hang up on us or be rude. Its very boring to sit and dial number after number with no answer and then when someone does answer they go off on us. We are just trying to make a dollar. Also if you don't put your bag, out we get no pay. A thankless job.
