I live in Toronto and didn't bother answering, no message either.  They call regularly and didn't bother answering.

Have been getting calls everyday for several days do not answer and no messages left but it goes to message machine.  In Nova Scotia, Canada.

I have 29 numbers on my cell phone under "don't answer"  just added this one.

Got a call today from it -- recording voice asked if I was tired of debt collectors calling me -- I don't get those but I'm tired of this number calling me.

If it's in North Dakota -- why are they bothering me in Ontario

i got a call this afternoon but didn't answer it ... what worries me is that my dad (84yo) got a couple of calls from the same number last week and he said someone called looking for a donation for something ... and that's the only unfamiliar number on his caller id.  luckily he doesn't give credit card information over the phone but asks them to send him information ... this stinks of a scam.

Have had many calls from this number, I'm in Niagara Falls Ontario...unknown area code and number so I don't bother to answer it.....especially at dinner time.....

they left an automated message on my machine to press 2 for better interest rates.

Claiming to be from a debt consolidation called "consumer debt advocate", refused to provide the name of their canadian affiliate because they knew I was on the do not call registry.  Very fishy.  I suspect scammers or otherwise unethical [***].

Another "boiling room" from Canada....and yes, they are scamers..!

I got a call from this number and was unable to answer so i called it back and it was a recording giving me an option to delete my number and go on a do not call list. never got a call again from them.

The plot thickens: I did some searching on Consumer Debt Advocate and have begun to find a tangled web of alleged fraud lawsuits, alleged libel lawsuits by these dubious companies.  

I don't know the whole story, but I think we all know enough to STAY AWAY!  These guys are bad news, and they are manifestly scummy

Now this erin may certainly have published misleading information, but that is far from vindicating these doubtful companies and their lawyers.

These telemarketing companies are clearly evading the law with respect to do not call lists.

Are these people you want to trust your finances to?  If so, I suggest you take out a loan from them, because I have a bridge to sell you.

They have been harassing my mother for months. I talked to the Better Business Bureau and they said there is nothing anyone can do to stop them. The no-call list is a joke ... they are in america so the Canadian no call list DOES NOT APPLY to them.

I figured I would call the phone provider to see why they can't do anything. My mother uses Eastlink in Halifax. They said of course they can help. Using *60 you can block up to 12 numbers from calling you.

Press *60. After a few seconds you get a message saying you can do stuff while waiting for instructions. Then you are told to pres #01# and that blocks the last number that called you.

Followed the instructions and it worked like a charm. Part of me won't be surprised if they can still call ... but that should do the trick.

If you use Eastlink as your phone provider there IS a way to block these *expletive deleted* people.

Thanks for the warnings.  Received a call twice this week. Glad I wasn't at home to answer.  I live in  The Cape Breton Regional Municipality.
