Received a call today from the following number... 1-702-260-6126.  They called my work line!  Did not leave a message, and when I "googled" the number, I saw all these posts that it is a scammer.

Received a call from 702-260-6126 (showed as Consumer Telcom on caller ID) three times within three hours.  I did not answer the first two times that they called allowed it to go to voicemail, but they did not leave a message.  I did answer the third time because it was becoming annoying.  After answering, the representative addressed me and said since we are not using our long distance, they are going to lower our phone bill in the amount of $12.95.  I asked her if she was with AT&T and she hung up on me.  Hmmm!

yeah they are scammers. if you see the number hang up... i am so pissed that i even gave them my name.

Hummm...5 pages of complaints on these guys, even going back to Feb of last year, for pete sake.  Actually, because I didnt recognize the number, I googled it while the phone was ringing.  Of couse my buds here at 800Notes helped me out.  No way I was gonna answer.

Girl's voice, when i picked up, she said Yep, your guilty and hung up

don't give these people; any information. Especially bank accounts and credit cards.

Same call with me only when I would not give any information he started yelling at me asking if I was in charge of the phone bill.  He kept yelling until I hung up.  This is not the first time they have called here but usually hang up - thanks caller ID.

I hope this helps - this is why I believe this company is called.  BEWARE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Arkansas sues Consumer Telcom over long distance charges to consumers

Arkansas Attorney General Dustin McDaniel has sued Henderson, Nev.-based Consumer Telcom, Inc. alleging that the telecommunications company continued to charge Arkansas consumers even after they had canceled their long distance service.

The suit alleges that CTI violated Arkansas' Deceptive Trade Practices Act by making it difficult for consumers to cancel their services. The company bills itself as a low-cost provider to consumers.

According to the suit, customers who tried to change their long distance provider by calling Consumer Telcom or a local phone service provider were billed the full amount of Consumer Telcom's bundled services.

Many customers did not know they were still being billed because charges were included in the bundled services. Consumer Telcom claims that its customers are bound by an agreement that requires them to let the company know they want the entire bundle canceled, according to the attorney general. But the office alleges the company doesn't provide consumers with a copy of the agreement so they can read it before switching long-distance providers.

"Arkansas customers of CTI should be able to cancel CTI's services without having to say the magic words required by 'contract' they didn't get the opportunity to see, read or accept," McDaniel said in a statement. "This company should honor cancellation requests however they are made."

Representatives of Consumer Telcom could be immediately reached for comment.

Keeps calling and leaving no message!

They are Consumer Telcom......long distance.  Nobody said a word,  but they have called like a million times.

Consumer Telecom keeps calling and are not welcome to call us at any time.

My post is mostly the same as everyone elses but just know I think that they are trying to word questions that require the consumet to say "yes" to any one of their questions.  With that they can dub your recorded "yes" answer into anything agreement they want to create.  Even changing your long distance service.  I would call your current carrier and tell them what just happened and let them know you are not interested in changing companys.

702-260-6126 keeps calling me and when I answer there is no one there.  Caller ID shows that the call ir from Consumer TelCom.  I am tired of having the phone ring, I run to the phone and then there is no one on the other end.

haved called 6 times a day,..some back to back.. i figure a harassment tool . ue name must be on a list, as mine

Guy with attitude calls saying he's from Consumer TelCom about a bill, asking me if I were 'the bill holder.'  I knew it was bogus so I asked him the name of the company again and he said "I already told you the name" and abruptly hung up.  Total scam.
