This is a Nevada government line.  My call was from the Nevada Department of Corrections.

This is the Nevada Departmemt of Taxation.  It may also be other calls from one of the state of Nevada's others departments.

Tax board does not call either does the IRS There a scam calling tax payers that want you to pay them right now or it would result your arrest! Don't fall for this, they notify you by mail and you don't have to pay legitimate tax that quickly. In your case it sounds like you are guilty or something. If you do owe the IRS don't tell anyone. Anyone can collect a reward of $200.00 turning you in so they can collect back taxes from you.. I learned this from a retired Internal Revenue Service employee!

This call came at 3:00 on 7/22/2015 -- they left a message saying they were from the Nevada Medicare Sjip--that number is an entirely different extension. So I called the Medicare fraud department and they took a report.

If you get a call from these guys and you are on Medicare they may be stealing you personal information--be careful! And please report them.

They pose as a carpet cleaning company with unbelievable low prices. They want two things a credit card number and what valuables you have in your home.

This was a call from the Nevada State Real Estate Division Lisencing regarding my renewal. It was a harmless call...

this is an office for the State of Nevada Social Security advisor assistance ... dealing with supplemental insurance programs and advice dealing with social security ... i called 702 486-3478 to set an appointment to meet with an advisor ... of course ... no human took the phone call, but an automated system requested my name, phone, zip code and short message and then stated someone will get back to me ...  it is legit ... the return call came approximately 2 hours later from 702-486-4000, which i refused to answer because i didn't recognize who was calling ... but what appears to be typical of state and federal institutions lack of budget monies ... (taxes) ... that nasty word which results in this kind of incoherent process Nevada and many in the US seem to have a love/hate relationship with ... resulting in the worst educational system in the country along with the worst of every other list man can create ... the race to the bottom continues unabated!

Reading all of these is really interesting. I had left a voicemail to the Nevada Prepaid Tuition phone number, and they responded back to me through this phone number, and said they are calling regarding my voicemail I had left and gave me the number I called the first time to call back. Just like everyone else, if I call back this number its disconnected. But they gave me the correct number for Nevada Prepaid Tuition to call back, so thats odd.

Several calls in one day from this number.  I didn't answer. Left no voicemail. Called it back and phone company message says disconnected.  I hate people who call and leave no message!  Why are you calling me so many times if you don't want to communicate with me?!  This is harassment, plain and simple.  And I hate people who call from bogus numbers; the government does that; it's so you don't identify them and don't answer and can't complain about them and can't sue them.  That makes the calls double harassment, and I consider it criminal.  If some scammers are spoofing the number, you'll never find out who it is, but if it's a "legit" Nevada state agency call, they're guilty of harassment and hiding their identity.  A government agency is a public entity and is required by law to identify itself: calling from a bogus (disconnected) number and leaving no message is a violation of the law.

This is the Nevada  Secretary of State.  It could be for licensing of all kinds of things.  It's legit.
