- BGFanI receive calls from this outfit every single day. A bunch of fraudsters/identity thieves/scam artists of the typical distasteful type that each of us has had the misfortune of knowing. The woman's voice on the automated message has foreign accent. The fraudsters are likely not in the US. They are out to get your money/steal your identity. It's getting trickier to block the scam artists because their caller ID numbers 'seem' to have legitimate area codes rather than 800 or 866 numbers. 703-201-9047 is probably a number that funnels calls outside the country. This outfit is not located in the US despite the VA area code. They may have a false storefront, but the ring is operating...perhaps in Asia...maybe Vietnam. Don't quote me on that. Maybe what we're going to have to do, since we can't seem to stop these criminals, is to simply not answer calls (turn the ringer off so that your life isn't ruined), let the caller ID on your phone or tv tell you who is who. Do not answer unsolicited calls from parties with whom you've never done business. Folks, listen...if you're interested in making changes in your financial picture, do the research and initiate contact with legitimate financial institutions yourself. Take calls from family and friends, but be careful about calls that come in with area codes that are outside your calling circles and with ID names that are generic (like 'Sales Dept'). Lastly, and this is not to harp on a subject, but...never, never, never give any personal information to unsolicited callers. Do not give financial information, never give your social security number or even a few digits (giving the last four digits is what they want...the fraudster can get the first five digits from 'pay for service' web-based people locator services, never give any personal identifying information to anyone who contacts you via solicitation. Lastly, visit www.ic3.gov for additional information on protecting yourself against scams. IC3 is the internet crime division of the FBI. Good luck and keep your personal information to yourself.

- kenJust received a call at my 843 area code on 11/18/08 @ 7:58 PM EST.
I said, "Hello."
A female voice, or a recorded female voice said,"Wrong number. Sorry about that." and hung up.
I was suspicious about something, though I can't put my finger on it, and punched up the number on Google. That's why I am here, typing this note, end of story.- Caller: No INFO
- Bjorn Mattsson| 2 repliesThese annoying [***] at 1-703-291-9047 is still calling about their stupid ploy.
"Your guarantee on your automobile is about to expire,,,,,,,,,,,,,"
I have heard this mindless blabber at least 50 time during this year
Today 11/18/2008 they managed to call at 9.10PM while I already had gone to bed.
These pricks have also added SALE DEPT. onto their caller ID to make their tripe look somewhat less bogus.- Caller: Do not know
- shCalled Yesterday. Did not leave message.

- KevinGot a call from 703-291-9047. Saw that it was an Arlington, VA number and assumed it was the CIA so I didn't answer it. I made sure that my tin-foil hat was on tight and checked the message that they left. Said something about helping me eliminate 60% of my unsecured debt so I hit delete.
- Caller: Don't know
- Call type: Telemarketer
- melgot call several times, answered once, not this time.
Message left was that a roofer wanted to inspect my roof for hail damage FREE and charge my insurance company for any damage found to fix. Press "1" for a roofer in my area. "9" to stop getting calls.- Caller: roofer

- Upset| 1 replyWhat can we do to shut these people down? I agree with previous posters that this ring is operation overseas and the number is a "false front." I would think that financial services companies would have an interest in seeing these thieves caught, and would hope that the U.S. authorities would care enough to investigate this issue, but I think that's probably too much to ask of the government, as they seem very selective about which laws to enforce and about how to prioritize the use of their resources.
- Caller: Thieves
- 284 replies to UpsetI'm still VERY actively pursuing them.
- IRATEI get a call from this number every day. I have chosen the option to stop getting the calls, still get them. I have chosen the "further details" option to tell someone directly to stop calling me. They hang up on me and I still get the calls. Today (just now) I asked to speak to a manager and got hung up on again. I tried to call back and some strange, muffled "recording" with background noise repeated my own phone number back to me and then something intelligible. HOW DO I MAKE IT STOP? This is harrassment!

- Do Not DisturbCall comes from Triangle, VA.
Caller says he's Michals from some Dish company. I just hung up.

- dbag| 1 replyYep same thing with me. Hit 1 to talk to a person and as soon as i started talking they hung up on me. I had an idea. Maybe get a refillable visa or mastercard and put like 5 dollars on it, give them the bait and see what happens? Just a thought.
- dbag replies to dbagI can't put my plan into practice because i just discovered the wonderful feature that comcast offers me called "call screening". It allows you to add up to 12 numbers and when they call it cuts to a message saying you're not receiving calls. Not sure which other providers offer it, but I think it's going to be a lifesaver.
- ChrisThese predators call 3 to 5 times a day. They use different caller ID's, some of the companies I have seen them identify themselves as are, CARD SERVICES, ACCOUNT SERVICES, CREDIT SERVICES among others.
- Call type: Unwanted
- grinwithinI never answer the phone and screen calls. I am inindated with scammers all the time.
In any event, I used ot get a good response from L3 Communications - the VOIP prvider that is networking these harassing calls. L3 has become unresponsive and in my book is just as guilty.
I recommend FCC Complaints and FTC complaints. Make an on-line complaint for each call.
Eventually when the number of complaints tips the scale, L3 will be directed to provide company information. L3 will probably cut the calls.- Caller: Unknown

- ChristieI get this call at least 8 times a day...EVERY day. Each time the number pops up Sales Dept. on my caller ID with the #703-291-9047 and it's a recording. One call came in and it was soliciting lower rates on my credit card so I press 2 to be taken off the list and then no longedr than 10 minutes later, the same call but trying to sell Satellite TV...then anoter call 2 hours later for savings on Insurance!!!! It's the same # every time but soliciting different products each time! This is getting ridiculous and I have filed a formal complaint with the FCC. I have a baby at home and expect some peace and quiet during nap time!! This company or whoever they are are relentless!!
- Caller: Sales Department

- Jerrycaller phoned representing satellite sales. when asked to have number removed from list as was on the do not call list, caller said, "well go to www.donotcall.gov and hung up as I was telling him that was on the do not call list for the last 5 years. When I called back this number, received msg....diff. company...appeared to be a ghost number.
- Caller: Triangular.....satellite
- Call type: Telemarketer
- mmmCaller never leaves message.
Caller ID says hey're from Triangle, VA on Jefferson Davis HWY between Joplin Rd and Inn St. - toni"Dish TV" : I hit #1 to request I be removed from thier call list and like everyone else they hung up on me after very curtly telling me to "Register my number on the national Do Not Call List". I have been on that list for years but she hung up as I tried to speak. Very Rude. Again the "sales" number on the caller ID only connects you with another computer with no option to get the Sompanies name or a real person.
