I have been tempted to spend money on the reverse look up but have not done so yet. But I am confused; you spent $20 and did not get a street address? Keep in mind that these guys could be anywhere and are just displaying this number, but if we could get the address we could look up the owner of the property and annoy them until they started to also take action.  It is also possible that, if we all call the phone company every time we get a call from these guys, that the phone company will quit providing service to them. (Probably wishful thinking on my part)
I also suspect that two calls I received from 1-757-990-8981 (also in Virginia) that also displayed “SALES DEPT” on their caller ID are related.  Also I think BGFan is correct that these guys could be located anywhere in the world but is incorrect that this number “funnels calls outside the country”. This number probably goes to a phone and answering system in a storage unit some where in Virginia.

hmm, looks like Level three is in trouble with the state of Virginia for laying fiber optic cable with out the permission of the property owners.

These annoying people call several times a day.  I never pick up.

Just get a very loud and shrill whistle and when you get a live body on the phone blow it loud, long and repeatedly. For some reason this gets you on the do not call list with them. They are slow learners so it will probably require more than one training session. Go figure

They have called me dozens of times and still calling after I told them no! Why are they waisting their time like that? I think I will pretend to refinance just to get their address.

Most cellular companies offer the ability to forward specific incoming calls to another number.  For example: You could list this number with your cellular provider and ensure it's forwarded to (...)123-4567 your local DISTRICT ATTORNEY'S fraud division or local FBI field office.  Just a thought.

I received a call from this number today.  The voice mail message stated it was Dish Network and they'd be in my area soon. I reported them to the Do Not Call List.

If you do a reverse number lookup for 1-703-291-9047 using www.whitepages.com it will give you the area from which it was called from, also it gives you a map of the area where the line is located. It's funny, because the call came from the statue that is outside the Quantico Marine base. I should know this, I lived there for 2 yeats and would see it every day. I guess that someone has taught the statue to use a phone. They are scammers. Thanks to 284 for getting alot of info on these people, that's how I was able to find out exactly where the call came from.

I keep getting the same thing and when I finally speak to a telemarketer they tell me they are taking me off the list! I say class action suit is in order. They are violated the terms of the do not call list. A waste of cell phone minutes.

They call all day long. I clicked to be off the list and they keep calling. I spoke to a rep and he said I would be removed and still nothing.

They call every so often and listen to my automated anwering machine which is not in my voice. This time the caller ID was Sales Dept.  No message has ever been left.  In fact, I no longer answer my phone and I turn the ringer off. Only family and close friends call me and they call me on my cell or leave a messge on my lanphone. They know I do not answer. I guess if I ever have a problem with my cell phone I will give that up and go with email or snail mail.  If the truth is known it is probably another scam.

When I call this number back there is a recording of some Indian girl reading my phone number back to me. Then it tells me to push 1 to remove me from their list. What a scam

called me 6 times today!!how do you make them stop? no speaks when I answer?

almost had these fools today - played along with their game since i do have a visa rebate card with only 2 bucks on it that i would have given them to get their company name and file a suit against them (they are calling my cell phone and i'm getting charged for thier crap).

was feeding incorrect info to them, right until they asked for a phone number - i tried to give them a 'work' number but she jumped on it (since it didn't match my cell that they called on) and told me she "knew I was lying, you aren't going to get me fired" and started explaining to her coworkers how she knew I was making stuff up.

i've talked to them a half dozen times and been hung up on every time - as soon as i ask for a company name or question anything they say.  they even hung up when i made up refinance numbers that showed i only had 10% equity in a house - "you don't have enough equity" - click!
