got calls from the same number (704-248-9016), a live person that asked for my son (who hasn't lived here in 6 years).  They just hung up on me when I told them that.  I figure it's either scam fund-raising or a political call.

I've been keeping track because of a rash of hang-ups and late calls, and this number has called me on at least 8-10 occasions that I know of, because the caller ID memory overwrites the repeat callers:  

1:34PM on 12/13/07, 2:16 on 1/8/08, 2:29 on 2/15/08, 7:55 on 3/27/08, 1:15 on 4/4/08, 6:04 on 7/22/08, 5:47 on 10/1/08, and TODAY at 3:44 on 11/16/08............a SUNDAY!  

These are just the times that I've written down, and not the ones I got fed up on and deleted.

Oh yeah, and like the others, no message was left, and there was no answer when I called the number within minutes afterward.  It just rings forever.  What is the point of that?  At least the Police Association has an outgoing message when you call THEM back!  And they don't call this much.  If you decline or don't answer, they (gasp!) actually stop calling you!

Have had the same issues as most of the above and I'm leary of contacting the above in case it's just somebody fishing.

We receive several calls a day from this number with the Identificaton Charlotte Fire.  As soon as we answer, they hang up.

I'm also receiving calls from 704 248-9016.

The 704-248-9016 hang up call are probably a burglary ring trying to figure out when you are home.   I am reporting it to the phone company and police.

Calls everyday.  Does not leave message.

No message left.  Repeated calls.

Please stop calling my home. You are just annoying me so much...

I got a call from this number and they immediately hung up.  I'm glad you reported this to the police.

I too keep receiving calls from this number and found this site to find out what's going on. Called the above number to remove my number (had my number under a wrong name - who knows why) but highly recommend the Firefighters Assoc. change their marketing tactics - this process has completely turned me off to any possible support now or in the future. Either identify themselves on the ID or have the callback go to an actual person without having to search the web for answers. Not only that, I am on the do not call list which means exactly that - all solicitation is not welcome regardless of who they are.

Just called and talked with someone who is aware of the issues and hopefully will resolve the problem(s). I'm all for supporting our firefighters and wish them success with making needed adjustments.

I just (03/17/2009) got a call from 704-248-9016  and it said Charlotte, NC in the caller id so I took the call and a male person asked for my Husband but when I told him he is not at home and if I can take the message, he immedietely (as if in a hurry) said "NO Message" and hung up on me. I was curious who that was so googled this number and found this webpage with so many complaints......so I am not alone! What can we do to stop this?

Recieved a call from this number. As I answered the phone, they hung up. I called back and phone was constantly ringing. Agrivating!

Call came in at 8:53pm. I am on the Do Not Call list and do not want to be called.

People, people...this is NOT the FF Assoc. e-mail address of ANY kind!!! SCAM trying to get your info. They are a con-profit & therefor cannot be put on the "Do Not Call List".

I have been getting these calls from this same number back before April and I NEVER pick it up.  I just do the *57 which is call trace.  After the second attempt, you call the phone company and they then take it on in the courts.  All you need to do is look in your phone book under annoyance calls and mine is *57 and then I write down the time and date and other information and after the second call, you hit *57 again and they say it has been traced and then to call the 800# if it happens again.  If we all do this, we may finally put an end to these people having access to a phone (at least for a while).  Good luck and don't answer phone #'s you do not know and NEVER give out ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION.  If a robber is calling my home to see if anyone answers (and of course I don't) I look forward to greeting them, my friends Smith and his friend Wesson are always nearby.
