Received a call from this number a couple of weeks ago, but apparently I was not home (fortunately). There was no message. I did, though, recognize the 704 area code as being Charlotte, NC. If I am home I don't answer unknown or unidentified callers...just let the phone ring and see if they leave a message. Occasionally, the call IS from someone or some business which I did want to hear from. Just have to look at caller ID every time there is a call. Sometimes, too, if there is an ID such as the one above, I just pick up the receiver and put it back down.

Went on line and looked up phone number.  Belongs to a P. Osborne and a relative W. Osborne.  The address is 10032 Oakbrook Drive, #C, Charlotte, NC 28210.  Caller ID showed POL PROTCT FUND

Just received a message from this number but when I picked up the phone, no one answered.

Got a call today from them wanting money. I said I have made all my donations for the year and he tried to make me feel guilty for not helping him out. I hope someone tracks this fu** down and send him to jail.

I am a bit unnerved about this latest since somehow someone MUST have my number on a EASY-TARGET list.. this will be the third # in one week I have had to add to my unable to call in list. and it's getting ridiculous. There needs to be a new law set about this type of harassment. The other two #'s were 800 numbers that called all day long and into the night but never once said anything when you answered the phone or left a message. I guess this will go on until the entire country is forced to change their #'s to private.

Answered the phone and asked for someone by another last name.   Told him no one by that name lived here.  He then quoted my correct phone number and said that the person living here before us must have had this number.   Told him no one but us had ever lived in this house ... then I just hung up!  phone screen reads "Pol Protect Fund".

files a complaint in your state with the attorney generals office   ,received the calls also they dont say anything.

This man calls me and ask for money to help the police,I ask him where are you calling from,would not give me a str.ans.quickly hang.

I asked to have something sent to me in the mail, but the person I spoke with said that they didn't do that and that they only took contributions over the phone through credit cards or wire transfer.  I do not give that information to anyone over the phone unless I initiate the call to a known entity.  They guy couldn't get over that and he was not very helpful.  I agree with most everything you said, but they should put a different system in place to relieve concerns such as mine.  Credit card fraud and identity theft are very real and are happening at alarming and increasing rates.

Just got another call at home from these scum bags.  Telling them not to call does absolutely no good.  They are just a bunch of low life [***] bags who try to torment people into giving them money.

Please take my name off of your call list. I am rquesting that you no longer call my home for solicitation or anyother reason that is not essential.

In May it will be 5 years of postings about these Scambags. Can't something be done to stop them?

i have an unlisted number.. THAT did NOT stop this daily calls.

If all you say is true then the local law enforcement departments should do a better job of informing people in their respective communities.   Even articles in news papers giving notice of upcoming calls in a particular locale.   I just got a call and no one answered when I spoke...I waited approximately 30 seconds saying "hello".   No response...I hung up thinking it to be a scam.   I am very scarey, as many others are, of these types of calls.  No one should be ridiculed for being scary of these and other situations.
Lots of crooks out there trying to scam people out of their hard earned money.   I don't ever deal with people over the phone who want money or offer some grand prize for me!

I keep receiving these calls wanting funds for the Police Dept. After checking many numerous times before with officers and police do not solicit on the phone....the calls keep coming. I checked the phone number this time which comes from Lincolnton and I live in the Charlotte area. Come on now. Leave me alone. The man today was very rude and being on the do not call list does not help. So, I advise folks to beware for this is a fraud.

I gather that These fools are targeting seniors and disabled folks.  I'm am guessing they are utilizing databases of social security info. Let's sting.  I will have them call the FBI and they will, watch.

Call came in marked POL PROTCT FUND - was thinking "pol" was short for POLITICS or POLITICIAN.  Wasn't interested.  No message.  They used to call my number every day.  Finally told them I had no extra money at all and they stopped . . . . until now.  If I knew it was actually going to go where they are telling me my donation is going, I'd give.  Call me cynical, but I don't believe it.
