Called - left no message.  A pain in the butt !!!

I just called the number I was told to call above, 704-331-9075, and I ask for John but told he wasnt there but the guy who answered, Keith, she he was the assisted manager and he could help me. Well, I told him I have been receiving calls from this number and also another number, 704-248-9016, and he said WE ONLY HAVE ONE NUMBER OUR AUTOMATIC DIALER USES. Then I told him that wasnt true cause I they had called me in the past from the 248 number and said they were the Fire figther [***] and I bought a ticket at one time. Then within a few seconds he said, Well we have a few numbers we use, SOMEONE IS BULL [***] ME HERE AND LYING TO ME! Cause he just contradicted himself within minutes! He read over the list of where the caller said it had called my number and it said it showed NO ANSWER most of the time and then Answering machine a few times and when they called like 5 minutes before I looked them up and called them, they said it showed NO ANSWER. I told him that was BS, I had just answered the phone and NO ONE WAS THERE AGAIN!! When they call, 100% of the time I have answered, there has been no one there. Sure, you can ask them to take you off of the list, but they will try everything they can to just take you off temporary and put you back on in 6 months!

Something else, they said if we take you off of the list you wont be able to help firefighters anymore, I TOLD HIM THAT WAS BULL [***], I can help the Firefighters anytime I wanted to without them calling me for money! They said that they help firefighters in many different areas, I told them I lived in Kannapolis, N.C., Cabarrus country and these people are calling for the Charlotte Firefighters so I am helping another Cities firefighters, I should help my own town! Anyway, these people will bug the hell out of you. I am going to get one of those zappers that when a telemarketer or someone like these people call, it zaps your name from their list so they dont call anymore! WHAT A GREAT IDEA! You know these people are making a TON OF MONEY! Give money directly to your own towns police, firefighters, or whatever if you want to help them. Well, thats what I know, I hope it helped someone. But these people are lying to everyone they talk to, they say they are Chief this or Sgt that, none of them are Firefighters AT ALL, they just say that to make you think you are talking directly to them.

I fell for this scam last year - "bought" tickets to a concert so they could give tickets to disadvantaged children.  Lo and behold, there was NO concert.  FYI most of these phone bank solicitations generate less than 10% of the donation for the charity.  They are "legit" )or legal) but not really ethical.

The Charlotte BBB DOES NOTcertify this "non profit" because they will not submit the required information that would show if you are a legit charity.

Just got a hangup call from this number and called the number posted above to get removed. It's the Fire Fighters association

THANK YOU!!! that first number kept calling me and hanging up and when i would call back i would get nothing...just like one of the other posters stated. i just called the number you listed and got "john" and he told me that it was the fire dept fundraiser committee number. ugh. i asked him to remove my number.

they constantly call and when the machine picks up - they hang up - they need to get a life!!

Someone from (704) 927-2275 called my home phone and left a voicemail today - April 20, 2011 at 6:28 pm. I have Vonage and it logs all voicemail and calls online. I also downloaded the wav file and uploaded it to one of my websites.
The caller lowers their voice to a whisper and says:
I'm going to kill you. I'm going to get you.  

I will be filing a police report first thing in the morning.

They have computers dialing your number IN ANTICIPATION that a seller will finish and me on the line when you answer the call in person. If someone isn't free by the time you answer, then it hangs up without a message, because they don't want you to know WHY they are calling. They want you curious enough to answer.

If the seller answers another call , and no one can take your call then it hangs up again. That way the sales callers do NOT have to dial their own phone and they get to talk to more prospects without mis dialed numbers

It is the Charlotte Firefighters Assoc. You won't get anywhere with calling that number back. The alternate number to call them back is 704-331-9075. John (the manager) answered the phone. I asked why I was hung up on by the other number. He explained that it was their automated calling machine. I demanded he remove my number....and he did.

This number shows up almost daily and never leaves a messge and since we do not recognize it, we do not pick up, but we want them to stop calling since it is really getting on our nerves!

I called this number and got a person. Robert no longer works there. The person was RUDE an suggested that I would never be able to help a fireman again. This IS a LOAD of ROAD APPLES. Futher, I am NO WHRE NEAR Charotte, and IF I were to oofer support it would be here locally.

All the polatians are exempt, as well as so called none profits

Nuciance calls are against the LAW unless you one of the especial ones

Why dont you just stop calling and harrassing everyone [***]?

These are scams - the admin costs eat up most of what you give them.  
If you want to help Firefighters and Police - give directly to them - they have bake sales and fund rasiers (sadly as they need to raise money to help keep our communties safe and don't get enough from our taxes).

Call you local fire dept - easy to find and ask them how you can help directly but do not fall for this BS.

One good organization I am aware of is the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (look them up on line or again call your local FD to see about it's legitmacy) - but the best way to help is to give to them directly.

It is sad these scams take money away from where it is needed and most of it goes in their own pockets.    (No Conscious) !
And yes why do they keep calling numbers on the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY - report them through that web site.
