This number has called my house every day for nearly 3 weeks.The person on the automated system says his name is Jay. He is an inmate in some correctional facility. It gives a number to call for some company called Global Tellink or something like that but they have not done anything about it because I have not been able to speak to anyone.I tried to block the number but the system will not block this kind of call.There has to be some way to stop this harrasment.I guess this Global Tellink company wants some attention from the FCC.

First day (Thursday) received call from 713-581-8050. I did not pick up so it showed as a missed call.

Second day call came with 'unavailable' then received voice mail from Global something, very garbled.

Third day (today) another 'unavailable on my missed calls and then a voice mail again from Global....

I do not know any inmates (that I know of). This must be as scam or random call from an inmate looking for a gullible person?

its july 11th 5:57 pm i just got a call from 7135818050. they didnt leave a message. i called them back moments later and it was an anomated pay system. -mcgrewsome

Okay everyone, listen up.
This is a number that filters all calls that come from prisoners, etc. everywhere. there may also be other numbers as well.
They can only call home, or someone they know collect through this and other numbers like it. My nephew is in the D.A.R.T. program Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Program (voluntarily).

This is the only way he can contact me,  I can accept or reject it. I believe the cost is 75 cents for an indefinate period of time. Maybe some you know is locked up and needs to get up with you. Maybe someone you don't want to know is in the same situation.

My daughter is at NCCIW in raleigh,nc. I also live in north carolina. When she calls me it shows up as TEXAS call 713-581-8050 which cost more b/c it routed through another state. Boy, Golbal Tel Link is not much HELP! I guess it's a way of getting more money per call. Is their any one else with same problem?

I received a call from this # 713-581-8050 today also i called it back and the recording said something about my phone was not set up to receive these collect calls, i just wish they would catch ever who is making these calls.

I'm sorry but you will have to call me like everyone else. My phone will not take collect calls. Call back if you would like to.

I received a call from the number earlier tonight, caller i.d.had: Texas Call (713)581-8050.  I picked it up and a recording said could not accept collect calls, or something to that effect..I am on the DNC list, so if it is a telemarketer..there will be hell to pay.

This number called me twice today.  The first time, when I answered it, it sounded like a recorded message about not in service.  The second time it called, it was a message in Spanish (sounded like).  Both calls disconnected within about 5 seconds.

Caller called three times - sounded like it was in Spanish.  Caller ID said Houston, Tx.

I am getting the call too and can't axcept it from an inmate in nc. Who do I call to try to set an account up or something? Anyone know?

How can I receive these calls it cuts off on its own. Do you have to have an account? Good luck with your son!that's awesome he is doing that!

Answered - said this number doesn't accept collect calls call about global cash advantage. Must be some kinda of scam.

Got a call from this number. No idea who it is. I do have a son at Polk Youth Center a NC Dept of Correction facility in Granville County, NC.

how can i find out who is calling me from this number. Ive received to calls back to back and i end up getting a message from some woman. Its basically telling me that i cant receive collect calls which i already know but how can i figure out who the caller is?

I received 2 calls on 11/25 and 2 on 11/26, same #.  On 11/25 it was from Ross and on 11/26 from Bryan, I have not tried to block yet, but I will. The caller has to tell who he is, if you don't know the voice, don't accept the call.  Also I know that prisoners are not allowed cell phones.

i think you are correct about using non-gtl customers phone number
as a routing tool to connect to other area's, and charge the inmate
family for the use of the no conversation call, the gtl number is for
telemarking reasons , its a way to by-pass the do not call list; when
gtl rings the non-customer number, the call disconnects, and no
conversation takes place.

Got a call -- it told me that I was unable to accept collect calls.  Then it hung up.  Odd.

i have been receiving calls from Texas but it is an inmate from nc but the call shows up from Texas idk why but its the same number y'all are talking about and its an inmate in my case the inmate is in nc
