This is a Texas number but it is the company that the prison phones use for inmates to make collect calls. I got a call from my sister and that number showed up. She is in Fountain CCW in Rocky Mount, NC.

This number doesnt mean someone from Texas is calling you.

It isn't necessarily from someone in Texas. My call was from someone in NC. The company that routes the collect call is in Texas so it shows up as that number. Once someone tries to collect call you, you'll get automated messages to "remind" you that someone was trying to call. (Very annoying). I called the number it said and that number is disconnected. I finally got someone when I called the number that the automated number called from. You have to set up an account, add minutes, etc. If you don't know an inmate, you can probably get your number blocked or at least get some more information. It is a little frustrating to finally get someone though...

I've been getting calls from this number about once a week for many, many months now, any way to block the number?  I live in NC, and the name says Roy, in a really quiet voice.  Really don't like this Roy fellow.

This is the number for GTL prison services.  A prisoner is calling you from a correctional facility, COLLECT, you can choose to accept the call or not.  The prisoner is required to state their name, therefore, if you do not know anyone in a correctional facility, or do not recognize the name, don't answer.  Those of us that do have a loved one in prison, this is a number you need to recognize make sure you are accepting the calls.  Thanks, hope this helps!

I have gotten repeated calls from this number on my work cell phone.  It is annoying and I do not know anyone in prison.  There must be a way to block this garbage!

I amso tired of this number callingme in the middle of the night.  Is there some way that wecn stop these's peple?

This number has called my home residence 4 times and saying it is a Texas prison from an inmate. I dont know any inmates in texas or anywhere else and I would like to stop this number from calling me, how do i block it?

I just had a missed call from this number, so i called it back. It went through an automated series of options that went from "if you would like to talk to someone, press 1" to "if you would like us to call you back within 2 hours, press 1." Soooo it wont let you talk to a live person and doesn't explain exactly WHAT it is in the automated message. So if they call back, I'll update, if not, I have no idea what the hell this is.

I just received a call from this number and it said a recording about not being able to access collect calls and the call ended. I googled the number to find several blogs........

you are receiving a collect call from an inmate at a correctional facility.  it says texas because that is where the phone company these are routed through is, does not mean that is where the caller is calling from.  the inmate is promted to say their name which it then gives to you along with the name of the facility they are calling you from.  if you don't know anyone in prison, don't answer the call.  other than that call your own local phone company and ask that this number be blocked from calling your home.  i am assuming if you don't know anyone in prison, and this number is calling your home, someone has an incorrect number for someone else they are trying to reach, not your reponsibility, don't accept the call, block the number.  if you do know someone there, and want to take the call, follow the prompts.

I got 3 messages from this number this afternoon (Global Tel-Link) with message to call 1-866-230-7761 to get it blocked in the future.  I called it but no such option was offered.  I went through the prompts and "they" called back about 45 minutes later in the form of a recorded collect call that would cost me $1.30 plus 20 cents for each minute.  Supposedly the call was coming from Nash Correctional Institute.  Nash County, NC is about 3 hours from here but I don't know anyone that resides there.  :)  I opted to hang up rather than accepting the charges.

I get this call daily.  Several times daily.  One day I had turned on my phone to find I had six missed messages.  Another day, fifteen missed messages.  In the old days, you were allowed only ONE call from jail.

If this were not bad enough, I just recently had my cellphone number changed because I used to get dozens of calls from a collection agency leaving an automated message trying to reach someone I'd never heard of.  I wish that woman would just pay her bills.

I hark back to the days when the only calls I got on my cellphone came from people I gave my number to.

I keep getting calls from this number asking if I will accept the charges for a collect call from a correctional facility.  I do not know anyone in that area or in a correctinoal facility.  I would like the calls to stop.
