I just started getting phone calls from this number. I am supposed to have a block on phone which blocks all third party calls and numbers from prisons. I do not want to be bothered and know of no one in Texas.

I too have been  receiving calls from this number, over the last week or so; at an  average of approx.one call every two days. It just so happens, however, that I have not been available to answer my phone, at any of the times which these calls have come in. Therefore, I do not know what would have been  "said", by whomever the caller may be; or what "recording" I may have received, etc.. if I were to have been able to answer. I did become curious, as to who the number belonged to, as many of you have stated you were. I "googled" the number, and did a "reverse number search". Other than finding this 'site", all I learned is that, according to the "white pages" reverse ph. search directory, the number is that of a cell phone..I'm not sure that is correct current information,though..Nontheless,  IF it is true, then it certainly wouldn't seem to make sense, that a cell phone would be used by any kind of phone service that would serve prison inmates..At least,I wouldn't  think so.. Additionally, just as many of you have also stated, I do not think I know of anyone at a prison, who would be wanting to try and contact me. Finally, the phone number of MINE, which this person is calling, IS a cell phone number. So, as some of you pointed out, nobody would be able to place a collect call successfully, to this phone anyway, considering it is a  cell phone number, If I receive another call, & if I am able to answer my phone at that time, I will update you all here,if I learn any new, and potentially helpful information, about the origin of this number, and/or the purpose/intention of the caller.

Inmates in the state of SC aren't generally allowed to call cell phones, yet I am getting calls from this number on my celll! I called it back and it was a recording of a British woman telling me if I stay on the line the next available agent will take my call.  ??????

I have been getting this call on my cell phine.  It says it is GTL prison services.  You choose to accept the collect call or not. I do have a sister that it is in a womens correctional facility in Rocky Mount North Carolina.  But her name never comes up. I guess next time I will accept it.

I hope I can explain this so everyone can understand.  I have a grandson in a rehab in NC.  In order for me to receive a call from him (he cannot have a cell phone, if he could this would not be an issue), I have to call 800-483-8314 and set up an account with $25 or $50 so that he can call me and I have to accept the call the same as a collect call.  This call goes against the amount I have purchased.  When this is used up, if he is not out, I will call and add more money to the account. If he gets out before the account is depleted, I can request a refund for the balance.

My advice to you if you are receiving calls and you don't know anyone incarcerated in jail or state rehab, hopefully they can help you out.  This 713 number is on the account in Texas where GTL is located.

I hope I have helped all of you who have questions.  If not, please question me and I will do my best.

These calls are a way for Evercom Systems or other names in their system.  Correctional Billing, Net Zero Dialing, GTL, Securus Technologies and who knows the many other names being used.  I will be writing the NC Dept of Correcties, although I don't think it will do any good, since this would like killing the goose that laid the golden egg.  The best thing I could come up with is to write your Congressman  and the FCC.

    SCAM.

When someone calls and requests you to dial numbers your are entering in codes that allow them to take over your phone line.

I want them to stop calling me - it is an intrusion and I know no one in Texas!  They say they are a DOC in Texas.  I tried blocking it, but can't get it to block.
