- op residents| 2 repliesA man calling himself w.Brown has called me several times leaving me harrassing messages. He will not give me any information about his company, address or even his first name. He claims to be with WWR and Associates and has threatened to come pick up my car, tap into my savings account and put a lein on the deed to my house. He continued to be rude and threatened me some more so I hung up.

- R J| 3 repliesThis same guy has called my work many times and is rude and threating to whoever answers the phone, I have no idea what or who he is and I am not making a long distance phone call to find out, if he is a bill collector I thought they had guidelines they had to follow, by not telling my boss that he is going to come serve me papers or whatever, sounds like some kind of scam to me
- CSI received a phone call from this guy and he identifies himself as Mr. Brown. Very nasty guy. He left intimidating message that we need to call him back within 24 hours and we need to cooperate since he has a case number and our estate is involved and action will be taken. First of all I never had any debt problems and he mention the names of my two brothers. One of whom I know might have some debt problems but what do I have to do with my brothers problems? He also claimed this is his third call and silence on our part is not advisable. Who does this guy think he is? Already reported him to the police

- LemonHead| 16 repliesI have also received many, many calls from WWR and Mr. Wayne Brown. I know his first name due to him sending me an email. Not only have I talked to him but they connected me to their "lead investigator" Mr. Mason, whom was threatening to contact my chain of command, send forms to the IRS, have my pay held until they recieved their payment. At first I thought this could be a legit call when I first talked to him due to some past debts, but further into my investigation and after talking to my attorney, it has been made very clear this is a scam artist hard at work. How they have the information they have on me is very unclear but I am disturbed by the whole situation. My reccomendation to anyone that makes contact with them, change your bank account, phone number, and call the attorney generals office. My attorney also said the number is registered as a cell phone from Santa Ana California. For someone to get my gov cell number and my email address is very disturbing. Also watch for 714-380-5869.

- saturnx84| 3 repliesI received a call from a similiar number, 1-714-380-5856, and almost the exact same sitution. The man called himself Ed Gruntz and was working for WWR and associates. The first call sounded legit, he was very polite at first, he talked to me about a past debt that I had and wanted to resolve it. First off, I haven't received any bills or notices about this debt in over a year, I have a larger debt that he never mentioned, he knew that I had previously paid off one of my smaller debts but how did he get that info about me. I told him I was short on the total amount so he suggested a smaller amount. I told him I would call him the following day. 10 minutes later he called me and said he talked to one of the attorneys he works with and said they could settle for a smaller amount which was what I was short from the total, I told him I couldn't pay it. He started to get very aggresive with his words and then hesaid if I had a friend or family member to contact him they could use their credit card to settle the debt. Also he persistently asked for my checking account number and routing number to do a check by phone throughout these conversations. I told him to send me some documentation about all this through my email. He said he would have his secretary make up the forms to send me. The following day he continuously called until I answered a blocked number which was his which isn't very professional demanding this amount be settled. I told him I wouldn't do anything til I received his email which I never got which he told me it was sent, he has verification it was sent and that I received it and I have to pay. He then asked to record this conversation which he told me he would have a court summons sent to my house for refusal to pay, I then told him I will not pay until I have legal documentation regarding this which he told me that documentation means nothing and that this needs to be settled. DO NOT ANSWER TO THIS NUMBER! Whatever scam this guy is pulling he is persistent and harassing and do not give any information to him.

- jen replies to saturnx84| 2 repliesWow... I have the same exact thing happening to me. At first it was someone who I think was calling herself Erica Estrada... not positive she spoke so fast and always wished me luck at the end of her calls. For the last couple of weeks I have been receiving calls from a MR. Brown. The calls from the automated computer start around 7:30 am. I am even receiving calls at 10:29 PM. This is just nut's. A few months ago I set up automatic payments to them.... and when they ended we would go back over my account and see where to go from there. They never sent me anything in writing EVER. I have asked several times and nothing. I finally called Mr. Brown because he kept leaving messages about the house I live in ( which is my boyfriend's parent's house). He was extremely rude, practically telling me that I am stupid. Get this... because I asked questions and wanted details and wanted to know where in the hell my 500 dollars went that I had already paid... HE HUNG UP ON ME.... some kind of professional huh? This just pissed me off... not only did he hang up on me once but he did it twice... and gave me until 5:00 pm to get him 300 dollars or else he was going to have my wages garnished for 50%. Extremely rude. He tells me that his kids are more important than my own. Who does this guy think he is. Who know's I might have actually came up with the money but after reading all of your comments... I am going to look into this more. Good thing I have saved most of the messages and the phone numbers. I will keep you all posted!!!
- WenCRN| 2 repliesYep, this same dude called me today and stated he was going to take my nursing license!!! Can you believe the nerve of this idiot??? My husband told him that he (my husband) works for the police department and the "collector" had the nerve to ask him if he was the janitor!!!!!!! Its obvious he pulled my credit report b/c he knew the name of my mortgage company, etc.....I guess I will see what i can do to have this changed....like sign up for "opt out" so noone can pull it. - Vickie replies to WenCRN| 1 replyWow we had the same thing happen except it was a female name Michelle and she left a msg on our voice mail saying she was calling about the property on and she named our street, so we called her back and she said they were going to put a lein out property and i said good luck because we do not have or own any property and she said she could call my job and report me to them and i said wait a minute let me talk and she said went on and on and i said we filed chapter 7 and she said if we are not on the list she will sue and i said you are on the list several times so you will get about 10 letters just to make sure you understand that we have one over you and she said we will see and i asked her if she was threatening me and she hung up. I think she called back again like 6 or 7 times and hung up but these times the number was blocked but it had to be her because it was right after she hung up. I hope we can all get them out of business.
- confusedI recieved a call today from a similar number - 714-380-5866- from someone named steve. he transferred me to the higher litigation investigator "greg moroney" he wanted to make a settlement from a debt which was 7 years old and was rude and stated he could have me picked up. the phone call seemed very illegitimate. he keep asking me to hold and then would put me on hold without even asking . he wanted me to pay 250.00 over the phone today and set up payments. Fortunately I am out of work at this time and could not. I decided to search internet to see if anything came up under WWR and associates. Thank goodness I found all of these posts. I will change banks and notify them of this call. Thanks for this post!!!!!

- harrassedI have received phone calls from them on a account we closed 5 years ago! I called the company and they say we don't owe them anything. WWR & Associates (also calling themselves Worldwide Recovery), has a 714 area code and is in Santa Ana, California, according to my research. Further, the California Secretary of State has no record of either name in that area. They are abusive! By law they must submit proof of the claim to the person they attempt to collect from to prove they have a right to collect and what they are collecting on. We should ALL file complaints with the Attorney General's offices in our home state and in California. sos.ca.gov or call the CA Atty. Gen. Office @ 916-445-9555. We need to stop these people!

- klcinctThis guy called me at work said his name was Corey Brown. He asked my boss if this was the address he could serve me with papers at, so my boss called me into his office and told me. I called him back because I do not want him calling my job again. He was SO RUDE and hard to understand. He kept saying something that sounded like Alpha David, but I guess he meant affidavit. He got pissed because I couldn't understand him so he started threatening me. I asked to speak to his supervisor, who, coincidentally I am sure, was also named Mr. Brown! Anyway, I was on the phone with him for 38 minutes while he threatened me and tried to get me to pay him 900 dollars on a debt that I am sure I do not owe. Finally I hung up on him. He threatened to take my car, contact the IRS, have me put in jail, everything you could imagine. I told him that if I owed the debt I would pay $50 per month on it once he sent me the proof in writing. Thank God I did not give him my account number. I came home and went on line immediately to investigate this. Someone else just called me back, not a half hour later from 714-380-5867 and I told him I am waiting for my attorney to call me back and I will contact them again once he does. - ARE YOU KIDDING!| 1 replyWe got a call at 7 AM. Someone named ED Gruntz calling to collect on an account that I never had! He said that there was already a lawsuit filed and that we were being sued. He gave a supposed court case #. He was so rude, that it was hard to believe that he could be from a legit company. I researched the Fair Debt Practices act and he totally violated most it!! My husband and I both tried to call him with no call back. Finally this AM he left a message on my machine. I will not attempt to talk to him! So glad that my husband thought to Google! Now I must change all of my personal info. How Does he get all of this info?? How easy is it to pull someones credit reports?????? The two numbers I recieved calls from are 714-380-5873 and 714-380-5877 Verizon cell #s

- Can we report to police about this?| 1 replyGot a call from 714-380-5857... saying there is a lawsuit claim on me and provided me a claim #. We called him back yesterday and ask them what WWR Associates is and how come I can not find their website. I supposedly talked to Henry Lee and Corey Brown. Both of them were very rude once I ask them why they are calling me about this claim #. They wanted my name and phone # before telling me what type of company they are.
When you receive this call... just interogate them back.... ask for their business ID, who their client is for this lawsuit... request for more information before you provide your personal information.
Can we report this to police... this type of calls should be reported to police?- Caller: 714-380-5857 WWR Associates

- Same Boat replies to LemonHead| 15 repliesThis Mr. Brown is crazy! He already managed to get $201 out of my disabled sister by yelling at her and stuff. He pulled her credit without her concent. Are you sure it is not legit? How did you get rid of him?
- Fed up!| 2 repliesHi all! Boy it is nice to find this website! Have any of you ever had them actually do anything? I was going to write a letter demanding they send proof and also letting them know I have filed a complaint with the FTC. They already got $201 from me and have my bank account number. He is calling my mother and everything! I want to be sure he is not legit before I do too much.

- not any more!!! replies to ARE YOU KIDDING!I just recieved a call from Mr. Ed Gruntz as well. He had all of my credit card info. He said that he was attempting to collect for that credit card company. He said he could settle for less. I've been scamed so much just this year alone, I guess because of the recession, that I decided to Google. Something he said in the conversation just didn't sit well with me. After reading these messages, I know now he almost got me!!!
- not anymore!!! replies to Fed up!Believe me it's a SCAM!!! People are doing this all the time. I have learned that you just can't trust people who call you on the phone, especially when they want a credit card #. Don't give them anymore money, and report him to the police and to the FBI. You can go to the Federal Bureau of Investigation website and file a IC3 report.
