Thanks for the info. - Anonym| 3 repliesEd Grutz and Sam Stevens also called me numerous time as well as my immediate family members. He demanded that I pay 2500.00 TODAY. I told him that I could not pay that much. He put me on hold and came back and said he would settle for 1000.00 and that if I could not pay he would sue me and levy my bank accounts and garnish my wages. He had all my credit card info as well as my SS #. He did send the email complete with typos! And diffrent dollar amounts thn we discussed over the phone. What a joke! It did look official but I am not buying it. Does anyone have any ideas on where to report these guys?

- arteI just received another phone call from them. They are rude and wrong, they keep talking about some debt we don't have. it's a scam, if you receive a phone call from them, do not believe anything they say. they are trying to steal your money.
be aware. - arteWe've received phone calls from these #s regarding some debt that doesn't exist. They are rude and discussing my husbands info with me, which is illegal. they are threatening, illegal. and trying to steal money from people.
- arte replies to commonsenseHi, I just received a couple of calls from them. We have absolutely no debt and they keep trying to collect 4000 dollars...?.. it's crazy.
they also called my mom's # and my mother in law's #. so illegal to discuss private info.
who are these frauds? - arte replies to Magnoliayes, they have tried calling my mother in law and my own mom, regarding my husband. We have absolutely no debt and they keep threatening us and saying we owe 4000...? they are frauds.
don't believe them and yes, I think it is a good idea to let as many people as we know, especially seniors, to be aware of these frauds and to not give out any info. - Anonym replies to Anonym| 2 repliesReport them to the FTC... if you look through the entries on this message board you will find the website and there is also a class action law suit in progress. they will be stopped.

- Annoyed in NYThese scammers have been calling my daughter's home for the last week. She did not recognize the number so they did not answer the phone. Today my daughter answered and "Mr. Terry" started asking for me and threatening my daughter. She remained calm and questioned him right back so he proceeded to just get more and more rude. She finally hung up on him. She then called the number that had showed up on the caller ID and found herself talking to "Mr. Brown" who apologized for Mr. Terry's behaviour and explained that they were a law firm getting ready to sue me for whatever. I had until 5:00 to return their call. We then Googled them and found this site. I retired from the Attorney General's Office a few years ago so I know enough to file complaints in California, New York and the FTC. They indicated to my daughter that they were a law firm.

- Didi PaanoMr. Gruntz called our home last night and asked for my brother-in-law. When I told him that he didn't live with us, he asked me to verify an address. I told him that I didn't know if the address he gave me was correct. Fortunately, being intelligent, I refused to give him my brother-in-law's phone number or other information. I immediately called my brother-in-law, gave him Mr. Gruntz phone number and the "complaint" number that Mr. Gruntz gave me. We checked Google because my brother-in-law does not owe anything nor does he have any complaints against him -- we saw the above. Thank goodness I didn't give him any information! What a creep.
- outragedEd Gruntz called my neighbor and asked him to go down to my 90 year old father's house to see if he was still alive. He said he was an old army (my dad was a Marine) buddy. My father does not answer the door, or the phone, when I am not here - even if it's a neighbor! Good Thing! Although,
my neighbor did tell him my dad was well and still living here. I guess we'll have to see what happens. I'm so grateful for Google! - n.g.These niggerians are so stupid. DO NOT give them any info. Simply ask them to verify the debt. By law they must comply. Ask for their address so you can send the request certified. If they wont do this; hang up and report this to the FTC. Also it is illegal to say your an attorney, when obviously they didnt graduate from middle school. Anyone can buy credit reports. They buy a debt collectors old listings, and hope they find something that the person forgot or was allready resolved. Remember if you have a bankruptcy filing, this makes what their doing a federal interstate crime. Get informed people look up the laws for yourself. Dont let a hubcap stealing [***] like this push you around. When is the last time you called an attorneys office and it went to a cell phone voicemail system? GET a CLUE CITIZENS AND TELL THESE [***] WHERE TO GO they are the same types that send those stupid emails that say they need your help transfering millions of dollars from some pathetic country. If anyone has an email from these guys post the properties so i can track the I.P. address. This is considered interstate commerce violation.

- BIG DOG| 1 replyMr. Brown, Ed Gruntz and a girl have all called. There company, WWR & Assoc. have purchased your bad debt account and want like, 16,000.00 dollars. If you're not willing to set payments up they will recommend to their attorney you be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, then, threatening to send the police to my work with stuff for a court date. All had different amounts of money they wanted from 16,000.- 8,000. but would settle for $750.00 because I was so nice. Couldn't get any info on location except for California. No address just one of several numbers used as listed in these blogs. I've spoken with the FBI and they are aware of this and are tracking everyone's involvement. I must say, Mr. Brown is good but other than the sheet of paper he has memorized what to say he cannot carry a conversation with anyone of good mentality. Ed Gruntz is a heavy breathing prick that like the rest of these people are very rude, threatening, liars and say they will do you harm if you don't give them/ their clients money. Calls are from the same numbers 1-866-897-9058, 1-714-380-5857 and of course the cell phone# that comes up private number and blocked call. They also have an excuse for all info about them on line as listed here. Be careful, don't give any info. Tell them to pack it like Ed does his Gruntz.

- tiger751| 1 replyWell where do I begin. I received a call from Mr. W.C. Brown this morning around 9 a.m. This guy first calls acting like he is a lawyer telling me that he will be taking me to court blah blah blah. I stay calm and ask him if he is a lawyer and he tells me that is not unable to disclose that information to me ha ha. The debt he is trying to collect from me is from over 6+ years ago when I was a victim of identity theft and had a few things charged up under my name. I have fought through many of them and thought that this was one of the things that was settled but apparently not. I tell him that i have proof of this information and yet again he tells me that i am obligated to pay him 6k immediately and that i have responsible for my debt, even if it was me or not that did it. This guy is very belligerent and if you say the right things to him he has no problem getting verbal. I have contacted my lawyer. And i told this jerk that he needs talk to him directly and that he is and has been in violation of the FDCPA. He tells me he is in no violation and hsa to do nothing i have requested of him. So I call the ftc and reported him. Have fun with that mr. brown.
- Finally Defeat! replies to tiger751I just settled my suit against them. Not only did they waive the debt they said they owed I can use that release letter and finally get this debt removed from my credit report even if they did not own the debt they stated they did. I also won 2700.00 in damages and my lawyer is working on several cases against them.
