I have received numerous calls from this number.  They are deceptive, when I tried to call back, by pressing redial, an automated operator stated that the number is no longer in service. Right! Since I was receiving calls from these folks three days in a row, I knew they were going to call me on a fourth.  Voila!  This time I spoke to someone who said they were doing a movie survey for Nielsen.  I immediately told them I was not interested- "no I have not gone to the movies in the past two months."  I understand that the person on the phone is a worker doing their job and I didn't want to hassle them since they have to be somewhat thick skinned gambling with unsolicited phone calls.  I just asked for them to remove my number from the list.  In the meantime I will continue logging complaints at the US  Fed. Gov's  Do Not Call Registry if they call again.

Really bothersome and distracting! What makes them think they have the right to call cell phones without owners permission. Total invasion of privacy!

This is how you can harass them back:

call their toll-free number from a payphone booth. Every time they pick up, they have to reimburse the payphone company $0.50 or more.

It's really gratifying knowing that they have to pay to listen to your complaints.

    Solution
    Various solutions.
Tell them you work for a market research company. if they ask where tell them IPSOS.
If they keep going at it tell them to put you in their DNC list.
If that doesn't stop them ask for a supervisor and tell him to put you in their DNC or to take you off their list.
If you keep getting a call buy the TELEZAPPER at telezapper.com

    Hope it helps. RGRDS,

    Hi

I work for Data and I can assure you we are not selling anything.. instead of talking all that [***].. just tell us to remove your number off the list.

    That will be enough!!

    Thanks

What happens is that the "do not call list" restrict telemarketers and solicitors only... so because these people aren't selling anything but just conducting market research they can in fact call.. It is annoying; however, we need to think about the value of public participation in research.. in North Korea, Cuba, Venezuela, etc people would really appreciate their opinion being taken into account... The truth is we complain a lot and very seldom help people that are, just like any of us in our respective fields, trying to make a living.. There is a crisis out there and the only way we will help the economy recover is by lending a hand to each other.

Why would they leave a message for??? They need to speak to a person to conduct the survey, not to an answering machine... If you don't want to participate JUST tell the caller to please remove your telephone number from their calling list. THAT's ALL YOU NEED TO DO!

Just ask the phone interviewer to remove your telephone number from their calling list! That is all you have to do to stop getting called by them...

    Hello Ignorants!
What if no one ever completed surveys?
Companies performing the survey would make decisions on the products they sell without any input from the customer. It is likely that most of us would be dissatisfied with the product and we would not buy it, but there is no way big companies can change or improve their products/services if we dont give out our opinions!!!
How about you do some research on the importance of MARKET RESEARCH!!!?
