I got a call from this company at 11:03 a.m.  I ignored it, thinking it was a wrong number.  They called again at 11:42 a.m., 12:11 p.m. and at 12:22 p.m. I answered and told them to remove my cell number from their list.  No more calls.

calls do not stop from 714-482-9769.  we get an average of 5 calls per day.

This company, if in fact is a legitimate market research company, then they are by law exempt from the Do not call list, registry, call blocking, etc...  I personally know this because I work for a market research company who outsources the data collection to companies such as this one we all hate.  They called me and I simply told them that I work for a market research company and that I am exempt to take surveys being that I am biased. Few good pointers:
1. This company loaded a file into their computers which contained thousands of numbers, which your number was on.  
2. They probably purchased this sample from Data House, Specialized Target or Progressive Solutions.  (all are big sample vendors)
3. Remember that when they do call, they have to indicate what happened to that call after it's done.  It will be lm, cb, bz, etc...So in order to have them stop bothering you tell them that:
-you work for a market research company.
-wrong number
-dont speak english (speak in a different language)
-or that you wish to not be called again and then take their name down.

This will work.  I personally have to remove callers who call into my work place on a daily basis and say, please remove my number, and I do.  

The law protects us (market research companies) so that we are not sued over some nonsense. I have over 100 cases that people, companies, etc.. have tried to sue the company I work for and no one has ever won.  We, the company I work for distribute over $500,000 in incentives. Incentives are a token of thanks for participating in a market research survey. Allpoints.biz is the website.

So arm yourself with some of my knowledge and I promise you the calls will stop.  Remember that their is a live person on the other end who is simply doing their job.  They are just trying to make money and they don't get commission per call.  They probably make around 10 dollars per hour.  They dont care if they get you to answer the dumb survey or not. 95% of the time the company the interviewer works for has been commissioned by another larger market research company that doesnt have a call center.

First time I have seen 714-482-9769 pop up on caller id was today at 6:23pm, but I wasnt at home when they called.  However did see the same thing that was posted by mhg on july 8 2008 of 555-123-4567 that rang my phone at 2AM in the morning.  Personally, I dont care what you are researching at 2AM in the morning.

The number was unfamiliar so I didn't answer.  They call almost everyday.

Someone with a Hispanic accent called.  As soon as he said who he represented, I told him as nicely as possible to remove my name from his list.  Another phone call immediately followed the moment I hung up.  It was from the same number.  No message was left.  The next time I receive a call from this location, I will stop their spiel to ask them if they have time to listen to how the Lord has worked in our lives, and proceed without end until they decide to hang up.  This has worked many times in the past (when I've had the time to do so).  The speaking in a foreign language might backfire if you try someone else's tip.  We shouldn't have to be bothered with things like this but the "law" allows for exemptions to the DNC list.  Grave mistake in legislation.  "Don't call me--I'll call you" used to apply, but no more.  These telemarketers/researchers are trained to be rude and sometimes obnoxious.

Got a call from this number stating they were from Associated Press. Asked questions about politics, religious affiliation, income, financial status and retirement

Same here, I received one this morning at 9:30 AM

Someone from 714-482-9769 called my office and tells the front office they need to speak with me personally and says its important and that I contacted them to get some additional information, I get on the phone and its sometype of telemarketer.
