They keep calling  saying it is a private matter. Do not know how they got this number since it is not my number. I have no collection activity nor any knowledge why they are calling me. Scam!

About 10 years ago, I started getting all kinds of debt collecting calls from some person named Sung Moon. I have the same initials but my name is completely different and I am NOT Sung Moon. I used to answer and tell them that they've got the wrong person, but I would keep getting calls from other collectors later so I stopped answering. Obviously this is a debt that is being sold over and over to different people. The calls finally stopped, but just now, I got this call. I guess this idiot company bought up a bunch of debt and is trying to collect again. Sorry, but I don't pay the debts of other people!

Received a  bogus call from this number this morning.  Called for a person who was not me, but I had a hard time recognizing the name they mentioned on the message.  Said that if I didn't disconnect the call by hanging up, it could be assumed that I was the person they were calling who owed money and that they were calling to collect a debt and would use legal means to do so.  I am not the person they said they were calling for and I don't owe any money.  It was a totally fraudulent call.

I too received a call here in Illinois looking for my daughter. I answered and they said it was regarding a financial matter with her. I told them I was her mother, what financial matter AND how did they get my number - she couldn't answer that! I told her it was a SCAM and I would contact MY STATE'S Attorney. She mumbled something and I SHOUTED IT IS A SCAM, YOU B____H! I hung up. Totally a SCAM!

Today, August 18th, I received an automated/pre recorded messages which is  suspicious and a total scam. The recording stated if you are not this person do not listen to this message and if you are in 3 seconds we have a message for you!!  Really - pre - recorded with your name dubbed in.    If I receive another voice message they will be reported.

RTR was calling me to inform me that I had three tickets from 1999 that were unpaid (tail light out, no insurance/reg in car. Yes, tail light was out - got it fixed in a week and sent proof along with insurance/reg which I had accidentally left when I had my car serviced - and yes - they missed the tail light). The tickets add up to $90 - RTR is stating I owe $572 with "penalty & interest." Also, they stated that if I don't pay, they will notify NYS DMV and NYS will suspend my license (I moved 13 years ago - trust me - my license expired long ago) and that they will tell VT (where I live now) to also suspend my license. This is illegal in VT (I checked with a VT attorney) as you cannot threaten action such as this (e.g. license suspension) over the phone. This is alleged zombie debt that I paid long ago. It is now 2017 and I clearly would no longer have cancelled checks from 1999. Thank you to TAMIANTH as I will be utilizing all of the resources you suggested.
