What the last person said is 100% true. I wasted 2 months there and quit because they kept procrastinating on giving me my lead pack.  My manager was a guy named Mark Glazer an MGA at NILICO (the biggest liar on earth). He made all these promises when I first walked in and just used me as a tool.  After I was done with licensing I learned the entire script in under 2 weeks and ready to go.  I went on video 3 times and he hadn't seen it. Meanwhile he kept taking me out in the field with him just because he couldn't drive and I had a car.  I was his personal chauffeur, driving him to all his appointments, going to all these projects in Brooklyn, selling life insurance to a bunch of hoodrats who didn't even know what they were getting themselves into.  He was making a couple of grand a week while he only paid for gas and food on occasion and I had all these bills to pay.  When I was in the office, he had me recruiting new agents during the day, and booking his schedule at time.  When they say that the managers use new agents to make all of their money, they're not kidding.  I've kept calling random resume's that they got from Monster or career builder (ie. a lot of the people on who've posted here). They give you a script to read over the phone and tell you not to deviate from it.  It's full of lies from the place that you're calling from (they use names of other legitimate companies just like The Pappas Group, Pappas and Associates, and TMK which are all real companies that people would love to work for because they don't want you to google them cause if you find the truth, they're [***].  It's like if a fat ugly girl called you up and said her name was Adriana Lima and wanted to date you pretending to be the supermodel but you find out it's an ugly chick by the same name, she didn't really lie to you but kinda led you on a trip).  They do cold call cause the leads they provide you with don't know you're from a life insurance company, they either think you're calling from their union or child's school, they only provide you with limited leads and that's if they give you a lead pack to start.

So don't go in for the interview because it's one HUGE lie, don't work for Mark Glazer or Jason Bratin for that matter cause they're just concerned with making money and screwing you, and if a lady name Tammy Cephus calls you just hang up (she's Mr. Glazer's top recruiter and was the lady who recruited me).  I wasted 2 months at this agency a couple of thousand dollars, and didn't make a single dime. Don't let it be you

They too called me and wanted to set up an interview. They told me it was for a Senior Management position for a company that helps union workers and setting these workers up with proper benefits. First thing I thought... What part of my resume, which is filled with retail experience, attracted them and made them think i would be great for this position? I asked what the salary was and they said north of $70k a year. Lol
Anyway no need to repeat what the rest said. This is a scam.  Some multi level marketing [***] that hides behind an insurance company that no one has ever heard of. They prey on desperate broke people. Speaking of desperate broke people, do you youtube search for jason bratin and you will surely be entertained. When theres more hype and speak of 'opportunity' than an actual product or service being sold, then its a scam.
I suggest we waste their time as they have wasted ours.
Unfortunately for scams like these, we have the internet and can easily figure it out. These kinda companies probably thrived 20 years ago.

Well actually the company is going through a major expansion and opening about 5 more offices so they call people to work for them. And to those who think its a scam just can't handle their requirements an hours to make a lot of money

I received a call from these people on a Tuesday for an interview the following day.  On Thursday I received an email as listed above from another person... word for word.  

I also researched this company.  The person who wanted to interview me... had lost his agents license 9 years ago and has closed his self-owned office and now is with another local company.  As for the company name and other name they mentioned... the websites keep bouncing between them and have no real useful information on them.

I felt this whole thing was shady right away from the phone call as it was mentioned that the pay starts between $60,000-$80,000 a year.  The positions that I am applying for don't get even close to making that amount EVER.

I just went to my "interview" and while it was not a typical type of interview, it is NOT a scam.  It's an insurance company and it's commission based salary.  Again, NOT A SCAM.  Unfortunately they are not very clear when they offer you an interview.  There are many companies out there that operate in the same general way.  If you need a regular/reliable pay check, this may not be for you.

I have read these mostly negative comments, but I agree with you about your assessment about National Income Life. I was first contacted by Roger Smith (CEO) via email.I responded because I, too was laid off from my job. I worked in Retail. I went for the interview the first day and I understand what you're saying. I stayed. To fast forward, I was called in for the final interview. I went, spoke with Sharon Brenner. The interview sent very well. I am waiting to take the course to get my license. I believe having a positive attitude will go a long way here. I paid for the course and was given a book to use for studying. This company in my opinion is completely legitimate. I am 53 years of age.

Well just so you know they are calling from 718-244 0988 under the name of Urrehman syed sami. Funny eh is some one hiding. Which links ya to www.merchantcircle.com .Not sure whats the point in calling from another phone number and also with links of other company websites. NATIONAL INCOME LIFE this is what should be posted on my phone if you are calling not Urrehman syed sami. Why the run around??? Why can't i ask you questions about the job you just called me for and i have to wait for a 2nd interview in order to ask you question's ya okay.. This is NYC all you need is just one Interview not 3.  BTW this is where i had the interview 30-50 Whitestone Expressway Suite 201   718 888 9428 thats the phone number they go by. People if you see these numbers keep on moving. dont want to wait in a room where 14 people r in front of you. They're still at it, got a call this morning, Monday 16th September 2013, made an appointment, read this string, called to cancel and have a bit of fun at their expense, SURPRISE - got a voice-mail, left my message and cancelled. Thanks to all who posted, interview was scheduled by the way in suite 1005, in the Radisson Hotel, New Rochelle. I asked all sorts of questions, go smokescreen responses - you can always tell when these people are lying because their lips more!

Incidentally, telephone number has now changed to 914 610 4359,and the appointment maker Danette, gave her number as 914 434 7224 which was the one with the voice-mail!

Whether they are scamming people or not, I dont know. I dont care. I do know they LIE about what the position is just to get bodies in there.

Thank you for the truth guys because I got an email from these guys. They want me to come for an interview, have my hopes but something felt weird about them. I Google their company name and here I find you guys. Lesson learn

sucks I cant take advice from the gen public.. most of you are just fuckn idiots..

they just called me now for interview for tomorrow , I doubt because they asking for management and my major is differnet , so I go to call the company name, who is the lady give to me , they are told me they don't have any idea.
