These jerks called my cell at 5:32pm on a Saturday.  I didn't pick up because it was an unfamilar number and they left no message.  I thought businesses couldn't call on weekends outside business hours and my cell number is on the DO NOT CALL list.  I have no business with Citbank or what ever this place is.

Got a call from this number. Indian lady was trying to say my name...I thought it was kind of funny so I kept saying... "Pardon me, who?"  about 5 times. She would try to say my name over and over (and it's not a hard one hard... Teresa). After messing with her I asked where she was calling from; at first she said "City"... "City what?" I asked...  "National" she said.... "National what?".. I asked "CitiFinancial" she said.. "I don't work with Citi Financial" I said.... then she said "National Financial".   Hmmmm.  I got bored of the game.... and hung up. CLICK!!! It was fun. :)  Not a "legal" company I'm sure..and no one you should spend your time on.

740-368-0299 is from Delaware , Ohio. They are CitiMortgage looking for business. I hang up as quickly as I answer the phone. Don't say hello- just click your phone on and off and they should not bother you again. If they do, report them to the FTC-they are telemarketers.

I also received a call from 740 368-0299,  they calling my home and my job - they asked for my name and said my payment on my Citicard is over due if I want to settle it.  I do not have any outstanding balances, plus the card they mentioned is an old card I had.  May be they  trying to get your bank information for those that do owe money.

740-368-0299 - this is CitiFinancial Auto - this is the financier that approved my auto loan.  The voice mail I received gave me a toll free number to call.

Thanks I will report this to the FTC:  I got 2 voicemails in 2 days, so I thought it might be about Home Depot or mortgage account ( = important).  I called 866-680-8628, the numbert on voicemail.  The jerk first asked for my mailing address, and then had the nerve to ask about a password on my account.  When I said it was none of his business, he said "I'm from Citigroup".  I said "I do not care who the f___ you are, my passwords are none of your business".  He said "I am giving you one chance to use profanity like that with me", and then he hung up.  So, if you want them to leave you alone, I suggest using profanity :-).  The number left on caller id was 740-368-0299.  Hope this helps. Annoying!

thank you everyone these post are very helpful. I was worried about the number, bc I have family with that area code, but now that I know it is something with citi, it makes since. I couldn't understand why when you call back the number all it does is ring. Now I know I don't need to answer the call.

Do not give out any info confirming or denying anything by phone.
It is very odd that Citibank would hire firms where the employees have such a heavy accent that they are not clearly understood by most of the folks inquiring here.
Telephone numbers and ID's can be "spoofed" on caller ID's so that scammers can claim to be anyone.
    2 Examples           http://www.spoofcard.com/  and http://www.telespoof.com/.
Your Credit profile can be pulled from any credit bureau by any scammer for "marketing purposes" ... giving your name address and telephone numers on file. ( Opt out for your safety)
Short version (too late I know) ... don't tell when they ask!
    • Caller: Supposedly Citibank

Just got a call from this number claiming to be from Macys with special information on my account. Wanted phone number from me (ummm...you are the one who called me!) and email. west Indian sounding male who wouldn't give more info until I gave him some in return so hung up. Caller id said Delaware, OH (more like New Delhi)

Doubt it's citibank or any legit company so don't place the blame on them

This is a phone solicitor for an Iranian arms smuggling operation.   Report this number immediately to the FBI if they call you.   Get a name and location.   They use a mortgage front, but are raising money to support local terror cells in the USA.    Collect as much info as possible and then cal the FBI office near you.
