I called and filed a complaint today with the ftc.They  were looking for someone with the last same name as mine.They call two or three times a day.

I just got another call from them while I was typing the previous message.I encourage everyone to file a compliant.It could make a difference.

Yes I have reported them to the FTC 3 times have been keeping a log and have spoken with a FTC Employee whom also stated that debt collectors are immune to the Do Not Call Registry. I have now spoken to my attorney and are in the midst of taking action against them for violations that the FTC stated they were in Clear violation. Yes I have called them back and have let them know that they are being recorded and told them to stop calling me as they have already gotten their legal Cease and Desist Letter on the matter.. Now they are driving the nail deeper into the coffin and will be SUED!!!!!!!!! THEY MESSED WITH THE WRONG THANG!!!!!!!!

I get calls from them at least twice a day, they never leave a message and I never answer.  I googled the phone number and found this page; glad to see I'm not the only one receiving these annoying calls!!

Someone from this number called a family member and asked for my husband. The lady wouldn't give her name and said that WE had put them down as a contact number, which is a flat out lie!!! What scum.

Just recieved a call, when I answered they hung up. It comes in as Out of Area. But there are days that this number comes up on my caller ID several times from 8:30am-9:00pm est.

I'm pretty sure this is a collection agency for Capital One Auto.  I lost my job of 7 years and was unemployed for about a year.  They repoed my vehicle after I couldn't afford payments (I owed WAY more on the vehicle than what is was worth about 10k) Capital One had it sold at auction for $2500 and now they expect me to pay the 8k difference, so they have turned me over to this collection agency.  They are relentless.  I thought that once they take the vehicle back that would have be that.  I really don't see how this is legal.  If I would have know, I could have chopped the car and sold the parts for more money and paid off the load.  I will NEVER deal with Capital One EVER and I would advise that no one else does either, unless you want these sort of problems.

I was told that when a collection agency calls do not answer and never ever send them even a penny.  Once you do the you are saying you accept the bill.  The collection agency has bought your note and paying it off will not affect your credit it will just give them a profit on what they bought your note for.  These people have been calling me in the morning and in the evening.  I do not answer numbers I do not recognize.

Thanks to all for the information on the caller.  I almost called the number back...glad I didn't.  We have a debt that is nine years old...husband lost job...we defaulted.  I'm sure it's Portfolio Recovery...they've called before, but with caller ID it registered as Portfolio. This number did not identify the caller at all...just Norfolk, VA.

Over the last week, this number 757-961-3546 has called my house several times a day.  They never leave a message, and I have never picked up.  I figure if its important or they know me they will leave a message.  How can we stop this.  I looked this number up on yellowpages.com and it just said Norfolk Va.

I'd like to know how these people keep getting my cell number.  It seems like every day I have different bogus nmubers calling me.

I have been receiving these calls everyday at 12:30pm I answered it the first time on April 1 2009. Said that I owe Capital one 2700.00 dollars. From 2001.. 8 years later and I have never heard from anyone. Same year I was divorced. I have a current credit card with capital one that I pay off every month. Sounds really fishy to me that they would call me. Dont ever pick up the phone for these scam artists.

Rec'd call w/no msg. This is not the first time. Will not answers. These calls need to be stopped.

Well I'm 10 and I got a call from them a few mintues ago.
I'm not supposed to answer the phone NEVER, but only when it's a friend of something but that's off subject.
I was wondering: "Who is this?"
Then I tried to find out who they were.
I couldn't get any information without paying so I came here.
It was kinda akward though, but I always get calls from people like that.
One time I got a call from a Nanny or something. ( I think Nanny was their Last Name though. )

Called twice within 2 days in a row and did not leave a message.  Came up as "unknown"!  Guess I will be returning that call real soon!
