got my first call from this number this evening, Caller id said "Google Guy". Did not pick up. This thread shows that the Google voice AP has been around for a while, allowing anyone to make anonymous calls to anyone by not selecting a return number. Wow, what a boon for stalkers, or a tool for harassment. Sorry friends, if you want to contact me, use a real phone number, or better, since you have a computer and you know me, use email. Will block this number soon as I finish this message.

Received a vulgar call from this unknown number.

It's always better to receive a vulgar call from an unknown number, than to be unpopular, and receive NO calls at all!

I got a call from this number and it's from an online school that I registered my son for welcoming us to the school from his home room teacher here in Arizona.

They are at it again, calling in the middle of the night.  I did not answer and they left no message...Idiots!

It could have been a friend who thought they had a mic on their PC or laptop.....they probably meant no harm.  I have made the  same mistake called from my PC and the mic was disconnected.  I could hear my friend but she could not hear me and had no idea who was trying to reach her.  I used the google phone because she lives out of state and I pay for long distance calls.  Tried her again using my laptop and mic worked fine.

Got a call from this number this morning. It was a male. I asked him who he wanted to talk to. He said, " you". I asked who is calling and he hung up. Same number called 2 hours later. I picked up the phone and didn't say anything. The caller didn't say anything either. But I could hear another guy on another line  who was trying to convince someone to buy into their scam, in the background.
So folks it is a scam. I am in Alberta, Canada.

Called twice, no message. I.D. shows "Google Guy". I don't know what this is all about, but there's one thing I do know: It's annoying and irritating and is NOT "very cool"!

It' Google's app I just called myself using it and this is the number that showed up on my cell. mystery solved! Try it yourself ......

Got TWO calls, back to back, from this number at midnight. Waited for the beep to leave a message but didn't say a word.

If its someone I knew why wouldn't they leave a message??? and or send an email that they would be calling.....anybody can dial ANY number, so where does the logic fit that it MUST be someone you know???? these creeps left no message & I woooooooooooouldnt pick up..........

Okay, Dana, we won't call you. BUT the scammers/spammers whoever is making the calls to you will probably continue, because they are not here in this forum.

Oh, and no on in this forum was calling you to begin with.

We're all here because we hate scam calls and are reporting them for the benefit of others.

Well people I'm not the one calling you but however I made a call to a Retail Store for information which they had to call me back.  They said I was calling from this number which I was not.  I don't know why, if it was because I was: calling out of state, using my google number, or because I was using a VPN.  Somehow this number showed up on the other end.  So what ever you may think these are not all spam/scammers & not the fault of the dialer.

we got calls from this number too at home the past 3 mornings. 6 am 4 am and today 2 am. The first time I answered noone was there. I didn't answer after that. I'm so upset they keep waking me up!! I tried to block the number but it didn't work.
