Another Portfolio Recovery number - they must have thousands

Must be a new number for Portfolio Recovery

If the people calling us from this number are calling to collect on a debt they are calling the wrong phone number as we have NO outstanding debts never have and never will.  My bet is this is a scam and they left no message so their number has been blocked.

Portfolio has over 400 numbers that they call from.  Good luck blocking all of them.  You are better off sending them a certified, return receipt cease and desist calling letter, filing reports on them at both the CFPB and your State AG, and then suing them.\

You need to send them a certified, return receipt cease and desist calling letter (think of it as the best $6.47 you ever invested).  Also send it first class mail in case no one will sign for it.  Make a notation of that fact at the bottom of the letter.  You also need to report them to the proper agencies to which I have provided links to.  Then you need to go out and get a consumer lawyer to sue them on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket) and let them pay you for the harassment.  If everyone did these three things, these crooks would be bankrupt and we would all be the richer for it.  Use these web sites to find an attorney in your state that will probably take the case on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket up front):  http://www.consumeradvocates.org/

Ya know, this may be my winter project.  I'm kinda feeling it, or is it the egg nog.  No, seriously, I have blocked 100's of numbers on 3 separate lines.  The C&D letters, they continue to call, 3 times the payout.

For three years, Portfolio has called my number every day from 33 different telephone numbers (seemingly from all over the United States). But since December, Portfolio has added 15 numbers, and today was the first from this one. (Yesterday, they called from another new number that I didn't even bother to report.)  I would not be surprised to learn they might use hundreds of numbers, and I suspect their Caller ID might be at best misleading or spoofed. Fortunately, I use an online service (it's free) that blocks and disconnects all their calls. I recommend a search on "no more robocallers" or something like that to see which online call-blocking service is best for you.

Got a call from Portfolio Recovery - no message left. First time I've received a call from the number 770-462-2198. Every time I think that I have all of their numbers blocked, they always get new numbers.

Portfolio is one of the worst bottom feeding debt collectors. Since I have no credit cards and they have never sent me a written notice on why they are trying to collect a debt, I assume they are attempting to collect on debts I had 5 years ago that were dismissed by Bankruptcy. Shortly after the Bankruptcy was finalized, I got a call from them. All creditors were notified of the Bankruptcy including them. The man was very snotty on the phone and demanded the name of my lawyer. I gave him the name and all calls stopped until 2 years ago when they started again. Thank God for my Call Blocker

Trying to collect on a 30 year old federal student loan. The loan had been for $7,000.  It's now $48,000...it's like the mafia!

The Rep immediately informs you that the call is being recorded and they call for someone I do not know. They never say who they are.

Owe nothing to anyone. Credit score exceeds 800 for 10 years running. These guys are scum of the earth. You are blocked again you morons. Move on to your next potential victim. No one will be buying into your scam here.

It's the Portfolio Recovery Agency using spam numbers to harass people before 8AM & after 10PM even on weekends, do not trust this scam number. They have tons of different numbers

They call me about a "1,000" times a day too. I swear they have about "5,000" numbers. Sad!
