They must have thousand of numbers and each one of them are "Spoof" numbers. Meaning if you try to call that number back - it won't work. They are hiding their 'real' number, guessing so they can't be found. Impossible to block them all. I don't answer them. I thought of answering to see what they say, but after reading some of the remarks here, have no intention of answering. I know it has nothing to do with me. Another number: 404-889-8269. They call many times in a weeks time. Hope they are stopped.

Another bogus robocall from PRA.  Called at 10:45am pacific time.  I did not answer, never do and they did not leave a message.  I've tried all the phone tricks on my end except disconnecting the phone, which will happen soon.  They are a waste of phone line space.

Our issue with these callers is that they are calling for probably my step-brother who has the same first and last name as my step-dad but different initials.  I am caregiver to my Dad, he has never been in debt.

They asked to speak to my Dad when I finally answered the phone, I explained that I was his caregiver and I could help them if they needed something.  The witch on the phone told me I needed to prove to her that I was his caregiver.  I was like I don't have to prove anything to you.  You want to talk to my Dad, you talk to me.  He is unable to talk.  She went on some tirade.  I told her she was unprofessional and scum to think she could go off one me like that.  I am going through the process of getting them for harassment and elderly harassment for the way this lady was threatening to do to my Dad.  Yeah come and arrest an old man and make threats.  I am sure, your life is miserable the way you act on the phone.

We have no debt here, explained multiple times that they have the wrong person.  They are too stupid to figure out that the one they want doesn't even have the same damn address and never once lived at the address or phone number.

They use so many different numbers because they are cowardly scum.  We are going after them after the screaming witch demanding that I prove I am the caregiver to my elderly Dad and that I need to do this and that.  Then making threats to have an old man arrested.  It isn't even his debt, it is his 43+ son but they can't be bothered with details you know.

They are attempting to extort money from you bu using harassing phone call tactics... their "cover story" is they are a debt collection service. But they know (or should know) upfront that you are not the person the are after.  Any idiot can look up the phone number and find out name,. address etc.. If they were legit they would have already done so.  If they were legit with their claims they would be sending out written demands for payment... which they have never done.  Congress needs to act to put these jerks out of business, or at least make it so that innocent victims of their extortion attempts can sue them... with a minimum penalty of $250,000 for each victim who successfully pleads their case.

Since they are doing things illegally, they aren't going to care about the C&D letters being sent to them.

You can not be arrested for a debt and with that threat that she made towards your father...that is an illegal action.  Please keep us updated as to what happens.  I would love to see them rot in jail.

Portfolio Recovery are bottom feeding pond scum.  Big A is right.  Document and if they continue to harass, sue them.

Don't forget to report them to your state attorney general.  That "company"  is a leader in complaints here!

Talking to them does nothing.  You need to send a certified letter explaining the above, along with it being a cease and desist letter stating them to never contact you again.  Just do a search for "Bud Hibbs cease and desist letter" and you'll find it.  Then copy and paste whatever info and send it to them.  If they keep contacting you after a few weeks of the letter being sent out then contact a consumer affairs attorney and you should be able to recover several thousand dollars in damages.  After all, it's illegal to threaten someone with arrest for a debt (child support and tax evasion are the only debts you can be thrown in jail for as it is), as it's not true anyway.

We get calls about 3 to 4 times a day. When we pick up they don't answer. I called them back and they answered and I asked them what this was concerning and why they kept calling. They told my number but said if I wanted them to explain, I had to give my first and last name.I said if you have my number you know my name and address because it is not unlisted. They told me I was going to be disconnected if I did not provide that information, so I repeated what I said. They disconnected me.

Received a call from this number a short time ago.....no message! Caller ID shows Portfolio Recovery

No message.  Caller ID: Portfolio Recov (what a surprise).  Getting calls just about everyday with different #s.

This is not technically a "Robocaller".  This is a debt collection agency.  Now, they have at least a thousand numbers they can call from.  So you have two choices.  You can hope your empty call blocking space is large enough to block every one of their numbers, or you can use the information that I have posted (by following the link) and stop the calls permanently.  That post is right here on this very page.  The choice is yours.
