    I have over 53 pages of 777-000-0001 on my most recent month bill.  The calls are costing me airtime minutes and are listed as data calls.  They are coming in in a pattern of every 2-5 minutes consecutively.  There is a pattern that is heaviest mid to late evening.  I have contacted verizon and they are being less than helpful and keep trying to expand my plan rather than deal with the problem.  Any solutions other than class action law suit??

    mislead by Verizon replies to rose
    I have contacted Verizon about this problem and have gotten multiple "explanations" of the origin of my $400 worth of overtime charges due to this number.  They have said it was from downloading ringtones.  When I explained that I had done neither for the past few months, their response was to expand my calling plan.  Something is not only wrong with this number but with Verizon as well - as they admitted to being aware of this problem for "months."

    I also have had Verizon for several, relatively, problem free years.  Until now.  This past month, my bill jumped over $400 beyond the norm and I was charged for over 53 pages of 777-000-0001 calls.  When I spoke with Verizon, I was told it was caused by get it now useage.  Impossible.  When looking at the calls, there was a pattern to the charges to/from that number with the highest volume in late evening, and at times when the phone was not in use (ie, during transit to and from work - etc.)  I contacted Verizon this past week and to this time they have been less than helpful.  Their solution to this point is to upgrade my plan.  If this is not resolved in a positive way, not only will I leave Verizon, but will take legal action for their misleading business practices.

    I have run into the same problem this month.  Verizon has been less than helpful about this situation.  My most recent bill was $400 more than normal - due to a 777-000-0001 number.  After spending a significant amount of time on the phone with Verizon, I was almost convinced that the charges were from data useage.  Fortunately I took the time to dissect the 53+ pages and realized that this useage was not possible on my part (charges during times the phone was not in use, etc), and I also found a pattern in the "calls."  To this point, Verizon's solution is to upgrade my plan.  If I don't get a better explanation and a better solution from Verizon, my solution will be legal action.  If anyone else is interested it may be the best solution.

    Funny.  I just was suggested the same thing.  I believe Verizon does not know what is going on.  There is a major glitch in their system.  My daughter phone had 121 min at 2am and 702 min at 5 am that same day.  She was sleeping and in school all day. She had this number listed over 30 times at times she was in school and sleeping.  Hopefully Verizon can fix this.  For now I guess since I was suggested to switch to their Nationwide plan it will just show up in different data category on bill not voice.  They did credit the charges.

    Yes, the most recent victim of 777-000-0001; Is me.  I have a shared plan with my ma under my dad's bill, and this number showed up for two months. Hello over $200 extra money bill. Trying to explain to mother that I had no ideal where that number was coming from and why i kept getting calls when i was in class [mostly] was just about impossible. non the less, verizon must be crazy if they think that they are getting any more extra money from me for a number haven't ever seen in my life til now.

    And if they try that, "would you like to expand ur plan line", i'll will have to respond in, "how about i expand my options to another network", line. jaja. this sucks. No, verizon sucks.

    The following items show up as 7770000001:
    anything with GetIt Now
    downloading games (some games will also charge minutes as you play them)
    downloading ringtones
    using instant messaging
    tethering (using the phone as a modem)

    So this 777-000-0001 i also found out the hard way.  I had over 200 minutes used to this number, so i thought about it and i basically solved what it is.  I paid the $5 a month for mobile web on my phone, what i didn't know is every time i get on it it charges me per minute i use it.  So I'm thinking everytime you use mobile web or probably get on Get It Now to get a new application thats the number they use.  They charge you for each minute you use online and getting applications, even after the $5 a month.  So this month's bill is a killer for me for going over.  And i read some of you get these when you're asleep, only thing i can think of is you accidentally try to get online or Get It Now, or something like that by accident and then it's just sitting there all night on those screens.  If you aren't the ones doing it, then my bet is its probably your kid getting ringtones/games/internet etc.  It's not a scam in the way the are wrongfully saying you're calling this, but it is kind of a scam/low on their part that they don't really let people know that you will be charged for each time you use these things.  So really you don't only have to pay for a game/ringtone/internet but the time it takes you to get it.  My advice, if you're a parent make sure you let your kids know not to use it or it will charge you minutes.

    I recieved a text message from Verizon ( my carrier) saying that I have overpass my voice minutes, so I called them and according to them I have been using my phone for over 4000 minutes!!! I told them that was impossible and they suggested that I should change calling plan in order to avoid to pay more than $2000.00!! I said absolutely NOT and I demanded a copy of my statment to say the phone calls that I supposed I did, they suggested to go online and take a look and I couldn't believe my eyes when I had almost 100 pages with calls to this 777-000-0001 number!!
    Verizon doesn't want to take responsability and they want me to add minutes to my plan and that's not going to happend!! I file a complaint already to the NJ Department of Consumer Affairs and I would suggest that whoever have had the same problem do the same.

    If when you look at your verizon account and it is only 1 minute chances are it was a picture or video message that somebody sent or that you sent.  To verify that find the time then go over to the messages selection and there should be a message that coincides with that time.  If it is more than 1 minute then probably internet usage or some other data transfer.

    000-000-0086 is the same number as *86 which you use to check your voicemail. 7770000001 per person at verizon is the number used by verizon when you use your internet browser on your phone or receive picture or ringtones. I still think it is a scam used by verizon to run up  our bill.

    This is a scam Im sorry. I make sure i never use the internet, I even have all these blcoked on my plan yet this number showed up on my daughters phone last month and this month it showed up on my other 3 lines. 1 minute apart. Theres no way you could accidently get on the internet every minute all night long. I was wondering, I didnt have this number show up until around the time I installed wireless internet in my home. Im wondering if any of you also use wireless net and our phones may be acting as a modem or someting? just a thought
