- steve appeli believe these people have been calling me in the wee hours of the night waking me up and they just called I do not this at all am on the DNC list i wish they would answer then i can give them a piece my mind
- Caller: BVTM
- GlennI have had several calls from BVTM, but EVERY one had to do with a subscription or offer from a firm that I already had a business relationship with.
For instance, the call this morning was regarding a magazine subscription renewal. For those concerned, the "Do Not Call" list will not help in this instance. The specific exclusions for the "Do Not Call" list include: businesses (and their representatives) with whom you have an existing relationship, certain (most) charitable organizations, and political calls. There are others, but I do not remember all of them.
BVTM is very courteous and will remove you from their database. However, if they receive a contract from a new customer, there is no guarantee that you will not be contacted again. It's their right...
By-the-way, it is not unusual for telemarketing firms from one state to call other states. Very few firms have the personnel to do all their calling by themselves... so they hire it out. Just because they are from Kansas doesn't mean they are bad. :)- Caller: Blue Valley Tele-Marketing

- BoydJen Yelled: "What good is the NO CALL Registry!!!!!"
None whatsoever.
It was set up by and for the telemarketing industry by politicians who don't have the consumers interest in mind. There are so many holes purposely built into it and so few cases ever prosecuted that it would be a joke if it weren't so depressing. If you doubt this ask yourself why the congress didn't take the simple step of creating an opt-in list instead of an opt-out list. The "honest” telemarketers have their exceptions built in and the scammers don't care. It's a 6 billion dollar a year industry and no politician is going to get in the way of that kind of money except with his hand out. - DaveHang ups two days in a row at about 9AM.
- JesseCasual voice asked for a co-worker of mine despite us having two separate phone numbers.
- BarbieQStarting calling my cell phone today. Hmmmmm, don't like what I have read so far! Hope this was just a one time call! The only reason I looked it up was because the area code was strange to me and I also am on the Do Not Call List.

I used Whitepages.com. Even without going through and paying for a full report I know BVTM is Blue Valley Tele-Communication based in Marshall County, KS. I am also on DNC list, but there are several loopholes. An example of a loophole is if you sign up for a service or inquire about a service such as (not saying this applies to anyone specifically) switching from cable to DSL you click a button to agree to the terms of service. Usually there is some sort of stipulation stating you agree to be contacted by their "Partners". Their partners are generally marketing companies affiliated with whatever they are trying to sell. The best part is you agreed to them calling you. I hate telemarketing callers and stupid loopholes!
