- who cares replies to 800-222-1913| 1 reply8002221913 is ligit. It is the collections center for BBandT. They have their own collection agents. The call was real, you are obviously behind on something or they wouldn't call.
- Collections Rep replies to Sleeping| 2 repliesFirst I must say that I do personally apologize for the initial BB& T employee's remarks.
Second, there is an issue with the local branch properly identifying whether an account is in good standings or not. It appears on their main screen that you owe $250 on your misc account on 7/4/10. Your last payment received was on 5/2/10 for $125. If they go about 4 screens forward they will see that you are past due (probably and oversight) for the 6/4/10 payment of $125. Add the June and July payments together, and wah-la, $250 is due on or before your next due date. This is a training issue within the branch, and I speak with clients all of the time via telephone that have experienced this misconception.
Third, in the collections and customer service departments, our systems are designed to search by name, account number and or SSN# only. Boy do I wish we had more options (Ie, phone numbers, addresses, etc.). When a client calls in we see a blank screen, and we have to have a starting point. A client's curiosity is understood, but we have to request information to locate the account, and reason for the call. Some departments call on several different products. You don't know how many times a day I hear clients say, "I don't know my name, you should you called me."
Lastly, the identification process thru pertinent personal information is actually a part of privacy laws, and an effort to protect you. If you do not feel confident giving the last 4 of your SS# or entire SS#, give your full name and address. An associate can locate your profile that way. - not scammersYou dont know how often i have this same conversation, I understand your why one would not want to enter in the ssn but we can retrieve your information from a name of phone # or when the automated sys calls transfer to rep. i was a victim of identity threft and it has taken years for me to get back on track, so I truely understand! I have also had many conversations where the local branches have told clients that everything was okay, but something was past due. So i would just say monitor your accounts and be very cautious.
- lkd replies to SmithI hope you did forward that response to BB&T and I hope that person is no longer working for them...hopefully that wasn't really from a BB&T employee!

- Nickname 111 replies to BBT EmployeeTo the brutal brutal BB&T employee. I wrote a wrong amount on a check to BB&T by mistake for I must have accidentally looked at a wrong slip. The bank started terorrizing me with phone calls. I contacted a local branch because none of the 800 number would let me speak to a person. The rep explained what was wrong with my account, however, she told me that BB&T bank would never call their customers and said that I should ignore any of those calls. This was said by a BB&T employee !!!
Once I got a voice mail from BB&T with such a horrible accent that I could barely inderstand what she wanted and felt very reluctant to return her call. So, you'd better first remove all idiots from your own place of emplyment !!! Get a decent customer service !!! And nake sure that all the employees are aware of different procedures going on in the bank and also give them some free English classes so that they would not scare away customers !!! - KathyYes, this is a collections company pretending to be BB&T. If you do talk to them, do not give any personal information, be polite and tell them you are going to hang up and call BB&T directly to figure out the problem. Please don't share any information with third parties and only share with the company you work with directly.
If you owe a company money, only pay the company you owe. If you find yourself unable to pay the company, the company will claim it as a loss, third parties will purchase the right to collect the money owed. The company you owe money too will never receive it and this is how third parties stay in business. You are paying someone you don't have to pay. If you call BB&T and find they have no information of you owing them money, you don't! Tell the third parties you have spoke to BB&T directly and they are not aware of any debt. Don't fight with the third parties, but tell them its already taken care of and they need to update their records. BB&T has all your personal information, so you don't need to share it with anyone else. Hope this information helps.- Caller: BB&T

- FU replies to BBT EmployeeI ignore you idiots and let you waste your time. It's rather entertaining. Nice try scum bag.
- amandaMy husband received a phone call on his cell from this number. They never identified themselves and asked for someone who no longer owns that cell number. I know collections people do have a job to do and that the debtor may sometimes lie, but in this case neither my husband nor I have EVER had a bank account or really any business with this bank. I hope that the person calling got the hint and doesn't call back. I have been in a BB&T bank and the staff was quite nice. It is rude collection CSR's that give their company a bad name(unless the company already has that reputation).

- BB&T customer replies to BBT Employee1. You have no idea the situation customers like myself are in, which most likely is the reason they haven't been able to pay at the moment.
2. Stop being a butt hole and whining about people who don't pay, like you said, thanks to us, you have a job; and
3. If you'r job has such a super awsome paycheck with sooo many super awsome benefits, why don't you pay mine and everyone elses damn bills!!!
P.S. build a bridge, and get the ____ over it honey!! - struggling client replies to Collections RepI have recieved more than 60 calls from your center this month. I have ignored them all. I get your voice mails as well. I ignore them too. I have a personal banker but she is too busy to communicate with me. I have conferred with many BB&T customer service reps and tellers to obtain my current standing with the bank. They all give me a different balance. Your computer system is too complicated for them to understand the linkage between my five accounts. One time I let the phone bank rage for over a week (3-5 calls a day) over a $7 issue that was the banks fault in the first place. I figure it keeps you and many others employed and that's good...way too many are not. I understand the frustration you and the other phone bank employees have, dealing with so much verbal abuse. My son worked in a call center when he was in high school and came home many nights almost in tears or in utter frustration from the abuse. Grace calls for sensitivity on both sides.
I will bring cash to my local BB&T bank tomorrow to clear all my accounts and late fees as they will not honor checks from my other banks. BB&T's lack of sensitivity to its clients, its bureucratic greed and its menu of usury charges is only exceeded by Wells Fargo and BankAmerica. Have a great New Year. Pray that next year will be better. - klaz replies to mooseheadcollections dept are open for operation on sundays between 4-9 to take pymts and discuss deliquent accts

- JeffI recieved a voice mail from this number. Lady never gave her name just said I need to call this number back. Im not late on payment and if I was late I told her to talk to the US mail. Check is in the mail somewhere. I told her to go fish.

- upset client replies to BBT EmployeeFirst of your the idiot. I got a phone call from this number as well and they left a message only saying I need to call back at this number, never leaving their name, who they are with, or what it was in reference to. I called back and they wanted all my info asking for my ss # account #'s and when I told them I would call my local branch hung up on me. I called my local branch and they said that they didn't call everything was good and that this number is not valid. I don't have any outstanding debt., so for you to get on here and try to make judgement on someone just shows how much of an idiot you are. There are way too many scams out there for someome to just give out their info as a matter of fact it sounds like your one of those low life people who run scams on people instead of going out and getting a job there is no way you work for BB&T because you have to have some form of intelligence, which you clearly showed for all to see you don't.
- walkinmyshoes| 1 replyBad things happen to good people it disturbs me greatly that BB&T employees are trolling this forum to engage in or spy on responses. Do not pass judgement on people you do not know. In my state, unknown numbers, collections, etc. are not allowed to leave messages on your phone so this site is helpful to make sure you are not being scammed. I work 2-3 jobs because my wife is disabled and we like most parents made mistakes in helping children out with co-signing and such and we are doing our best. I have not had a raise in 5 years at my primary job where I have been underpaid 5k plus according to the step-pay contract I signed. If I sue the state, I'd get fired. It is a right to work state. At 51 years of age, there is not a lot of options out there especially with unemployment so high.

- Fed Up with BB&TGet TimeWarner and you can block their calls. I just did. I am self-employed (two businesses in the service industry) and have to wait for my customers to pay me so that I can pay my bills. I know what I owe, who I owe, how much I owe and when it is due.
Phoning me at my place of business, every day, for a week isn't going to get me to pay my bills any faster.
I am at the mercy of my customer's payment me.
So there BB&T - you are blocked. I will block every number that you call from. Spending my time talking to your "collection employees" is a waste of MY TIME - billable time. You are preventing me from making a living.
So there!- Caller: BB&T COLLECTION

- Angry Ex-Customer replies to BBT Employee| 4 repliesDear Idiot-
I am so glad that your education advanced your career so much that you are a lowly debt collector. You probably didn't even need a high school education for that did you? Anyway, I paid my car off 3 months ago. I owe nothing and cannot get your incredibly competent institution to send me my title, but they are trying to collect a debt that no longer exists. I am a lawyer and guess what? This looks like a class action to me after some investigation. With any luck I can put enough hurt on your company so your job is too expensive to do in the U.S. and goes to India. Good luck with no job and I hope you never have a time when you have a hard time paying bills. You really are a moron so another profession looks doubtful.
