- BB & T Employee| 1 replyI work for BB & T and this is not a legitimate number. DO NOT give out your social security number. This has been report to the Attorney Generals offices in numerous states. We have been briefed about this practice and told to help the customer at the local branch and get all information about the calls. I apologize on behalf of BB & T.
- Assests Adjuster replies to BB & T EmployeeIf you really worked for BB&T you can easily find out that this is a legitimate number 800-222-1913, i say it 500 hundreds a day, ask you supervisor to check for you, or better yet call the number and ask the employee for their B or C number and then go to IGO1 and look them up yourselves, and it will show everything about that employee and what office they are calling from, Because of the Federal Privacy Laws, we cannot give out Information to any client without certain info from them, But if they are calling collections, we need one of 3 things, Name, account number or full social, There is certainly nothing we can do only with the last 4 of the social, until we have made direct contact with the client, and for the ones complaining about Sunday Calls, thats ones easy all you have to say is please dont call me on a Sunday and by law we have to remove it, same with your work place, if you want no calls at your job just say so, we have a special que for those and it is the law.............................
- Harold| 1 replyYeh, it's BB&T. We slipped up and forgot last month's car payment. It does take a couple of days after you pay by phone for that to catch up with collections though. If you want to, you can give them the confirmation number when they call, or you can just wait for the calls to stop.

- newmanthey call and don't leave messages. never heard of BBT. I have no loans. owe nothing.
- bbgbunny| 1 replyThis may be a real number for BB&T but people can put any number they want on their caller ID. So a scammer can call and that number will show up on your caller ID. I don't care who you are or why you call me, I will not give you a SS# over the phone. If only people would realize that asking for SS# for identification is illegal it's written right on your card. What ever happened to sending out a late notice? Collection calls will not make a person pay. It's a stupid idea to think you can intimidate someone into paying. BB&T and I have a history and they are not a good bank. I will never deal with them in any business ever. That employee that posted on here is what you would expect from a person doing that kind of work. Low intelligence, probably never paid a bill on time themselves and get satisfaction out of making people's lives miserable. That person's life isn't worth much and would be comfortable living in a sewer.
- rascalbill replies to bbgbunnyI got a call from the # yesterday and today, she does say BB&T, of couse at first I found it hard to understand until I saw this blog. Right, never give your SS# to anyone over the phone. Not sure why BB&T is calling me, I don't have an account with them and I don't even know who they are. Seems to be no privacy anymore:(
- KarenI dont even have a loan with this bank ans im getting calls. Why is the employee even on this page? Why would you need to be here unless you were getting calls from this number too? Hmmmm. Unless you just have nothing better to do with your time.

- Craig| 1 replyCall from 1-800-222-1913. Female caller stated she was BB&T employee. She asked to speak to me or my wife. The phone number she called me on is permanentely unlisted and blocked and can in no way have my wife's name attached to it. It belongs to a government agency. I hope she realizes that it is automatically recorded and caller ID verified, and subject to 10-year retention and Public Records discovery.

- lonegunwomanI have been getting these calls, but don't pick them up. I actually do appreciate being called, because one time I was very late (I pay online and when Wachovia was switching to Wells Fargo, there was a mistake and the payment didn't process) they TOWED my car. I was furious, especially since the company that took my car damaged it. I asked BB&T why they did not simply call me, they claimed they couldn't reach me (I WAS on vacation, but still unlikely.) I have intentionally added more to my monthly payments since then just to be done with BB&T. At any rate, since then they have called when I am one day late (online payments take longer to process, and with the exception of that one time, I am always within the "grace period").
That said, I have no idea if this number is actually BB&T, because they never leave a message. And it is different from the numbers that have called in the past "reminding" me that I am late.
Today I made the final payment. Let's see how long it takes them to send me my title. - 2horses| 1 replyThe 866-877-9385 number is a BB&T automated collections number, which I might add is aggravating as all get out. I have to make my payment on my payday which unfortunately this time is 11 days after the due date. However, the phone starts ringing just 4 days after the scheduled date is missed. And continues ringing 2, 3, 4, 5 times a day despite the fact that you leave a message stating when you will be paying.
I will never again use BB&T for anything at all. Ever.- Caller: BB&T

- Chris Gibson| 4 repliesI am deeply disappointed in YOUR employee responses to some of these threads and yes after reading one of them I sent a nasty response. You people should be ashamed. Not everyone is a "deadbeat" as YOUR employee claims. [***] happens, life changes in an instant. As I responded to his/her remarks I was only as nasty as they were. To think we were considering changing from B OF A to your Bank....Glad as hell I did not. You have several employee remarks on this page and all are nasty. I'm nearly 50 years old and have worked hard my entire life and to see this [***] is just wrong! How would you feel if you discovered you were dying and your only concern was to pay the debts you owe before you die?! You certainly do not provide the incentive to do so. I am still trying to work because you have to be completely unemployed in order to receive disability payments. I've pushed myself hard, very hard to work and am only able to earn wages for roughly 10 to 12 hours a week. I'm doing best I can and you will get your money. But you can bet your ass If I somehow outlive what I'm suppose to, you people will not get any damn business from us! You will hear from my lawyer. # lousy days beyond the grace period doesn't give you the right to harass me every 20 minutes on the phone especially when I've sent you a check. Not my fault one of your lazy [***] employee's hasn't processed it yet!
