First of all, Me Myself am a collector.
Secondly we have time perimeters on calling, and it;s not harassment if the call has a purpose.
If the number is wrong call back and let us know. But don't say we keep calling you.
If you receive numerous calls a day it might not only be from us, when people go into debt, there isn't only one collection agency calling, so take that into consideration.
There is no need for the attitude as well, we'll be nice and work with you if you are willing to co-operate.
There are many ways of resolving debt with out filing for bankruptcy and it can actually boost your credit score. So think of it like this we are there to help not to fight. I understand yeah people have bad days but at the same time we aren't the reason why you're in debt. There are thousands of reasons why people go into debt and that is understandable, but think of it like this it's a phone call to help.
So yell scream swear and insult us as much as you want, we'll just hang up and the calls won't stop until the matter is rectified someway.

Legally we are allowed to call family, friends whatever number has been provided, by the debtor.
until we are told not to call.
We can call a place of employment  until the debtor states that they do not want any calls there.
If you don't want calls to other people  for you, don't put them down as references or contact numbers. Because we will call.
We however cannot disclose any information on the call unless we are provided with personal information the yes we do have. whether it be DOB, Address, last three digits of your SIN, or driver's license number.
You also have to keep in mind that there are other people out there with the same name as you.
Go ahead and think you are making our job harder by hanging up, I personally find it fun.
Like i said in another post. There are time Perimeters for all provinces.
You cannot call before 7am and after 9pm
    Some provinces are 8pm.
And payments, if you make a payment arrangement yes let us know if something changes we'll work with you. We always start with the full balance. And then Work with you and try to understand the situation.
But just keep in mind that all calls are recorded.
    from beginning to end.
The only time we cannot call is when we are instructed by the client.
and our system lets us know that it is too early too call or too late.

Every collector tries to explain, how credit works and tries to work with you, but you have to co-operate and work with us. we aren't bad at all, we are just trying to work with you so you have a better and higher credit rating. When you co-operate everything works out in the end, for everybody.

I got a call today and do not know these people. I do not owe anyone money. It turns out to be www.collectcents.com.  I will ignore them and wait. They cannot file a false claim against me.

I am receiving same call, saying to call them back with reference number, since one month. I dont have any outstanding amount against any company.
I dont know much law but I think they should send a written letter explaining the situation, giving appropriate time to pay, if any. If its unpaid, then they can call for collection only not for threats.
Following are Two type of people, born on  earth to receive hell of abuses and curses.

Somehow I don't buy that dude is taking home $6k a month working 16 days a month. He reminds me of those loss prevention workers in department stores that tell people they're "private investigators" or "cops" lmfao!!!

    Dear Collector,

You're a commission sales person traditionally regarded as being under-trained and poorly skilled. I don't blame collectors for taking the job on! Some can make a decent living without post secondary education...I would caution boasting of your $6k a month income around business professionals or sales professionals.

I was the top of my field ie: Top 1% of commission sales people and suffered a terrible blow when faced with a serious illness and the medical costs involved. I was making so much money I didn't know what to do and lived below my means prior to the illness. I had medical insurance, investments, and savings that were all drained out due to the circumstances....I thought I was invincible and prepared for anything.

Would you consider me a dead beat for being late paying the cellphone bill because the mortgage took priority?

P.S.- I worked 1 day and made enough in commissions to pay off the debt. For some reason I received a call from 1-800-256-8964? My debt was paid (not settled) so I don't know what they may want. All I know is that not all people that miss payments are losers!!!!

Thanks for the laugh. Low commission sales people and their egos make me laugh! I hope you treat the people at the mall (where you probably work as security) with more respect than how you've treated people in this thread. People with your type of attitude usually stay in the median to below median range of income for commission sales. I'd recommend considering a career change or attitude adjustment.

Correction: Collectors can call between the hours of 9am-10pm or something like that Sunday-Sunday. They can call up to 3x per week per debt. If you have three accounts in their collection they can call you a maximum of 9x a week.

If you are threatened with bodily harm or legal action report them immediately. If you are being called more than the 3x per week per account rule then report them to the police :D

    Seriously??
I just received a call from the Canadian Bureau of Credit and Collections from this number. This guy said that he needed me to call him ASAP because he has good news about something they sent in the mail. Made it sound like a sweepstakes or something. All I had to do was call back and give them the account number he left in the voice mail. Honest collectors? Sorry but if you're going to lie to get people to call in, you're not exactly trustworthy or a company I'd want to deal with. I've had issues with a student loan and was ripped off my a debt collection agency ARC who took my money and didn't put it towards the debt owed, so no, I'm not dealing with them or companies like them. I'm going to deal with the source. Lindsay is correct in that there are ways people end up owing money, but there are places out there that give people like her a bad name. There are people like that on both sides... collectors who just want to get what they can from people and people who just won't own up to responsibilities. There are good ones too on both sides, but an instant red flag for me is lying right off the hop in a voice mail. Be honest and let the chips fall where they may...

You know Who I Am answer your F'n Phones
These guys were good up until now. I will be fair and just in that regard. The Guy i have spoken with was very friendly and helpful. We got the mission accomplished. I was willing to man up and deal with this for the sake of my family and everything was smooth. Until now.

After a month id did not get a letter of release and when i called looking for it he acted as if he had never spoke to me before.

And now that i did get something.. which is anything but a letter of release but in fact a statement with a balance owing!!! Not the sum that would would consider this matter closed as promised. In writing and in verbal communication.

They did not commit to the terms of their own letter. And also curious is the fact that what they sent me was sent to my previous address...... Even after i called this 'Professional' and made sure when he re-sent anything it went to my current address.

And now that i need to talk to them they miraculously have a new phone system that in no way connects me to a live person. Try as i might. No live person.

sadly for them i have kept all correspondence, receipts, conversations and pertinent times logged and have a lawyer in the family wiling to give me some pro-bono time. he has reviewed my paperwork and i have met all requests and from where he sits they have effed up royally and do not have a leg to stand on if it comes down to a legal thing. And if they keep dodging calls i have urged to contact the BBB for not having a decent customer relations system in place.

Funny when the shoe is on the other foot and the bullied soon becomes the bully how quickly they run and hide.

    Cowards.

So, If anyone of you guys from CBOC are lurking on here, I urge you to start answering the phones. Or your supervisors will receive a fax that won't bode well in your favor.

Seriously toying with the wrong dude here. Ha! I am going to see to it this ends within the next 2 days.

Here's his number and e-mail lets see if he likes people calling him at home and asking him for money he doesn't owe.

Joe Di Nunzio is the V.P National Business Development at Credit Bureau of Canada Collections (privately held:  Financial Services Industry) he has worked there from Oct 2003 to Present prior to that he worked at the Supreme Credit Corp (Financial Service Industry) from Feb  1992 to Oct 2003.  So basically they are both the same Corporation they just keep changing their names because they are getting in trouble for being corrupt.  His home number is 416-651-6186; his address is 14 Lonborough Ave., York, Ontario M6M 1X3. So basically this man doesn’t know how to do an actually job for a living he just likes to harass people who don’t owe money, I would guess that most of the people there all have police records so they don’t care if they get into trouble for harassing people. Email: joedi@collectcents.com

John Kim, Executive Vice President at Credit Bureau of Canada Collections, his past job was for VP Sales at CBV Collection Services Ltd. Sales Representative at Creditel.  He went to the University of Western in Ontario so he’s an educated man I can’t think why he would want to be involved with someone like Joe Di Nunzio
