- Elizabethechoes of the same complaints, and it's 2012. The one tactic I think is really bad is that if you have an answering machine, their message gets truncated so you have no idea who they are until you call them.

- Another VictimI purchased a pay-as-you-go cell phone, and guess what? The person who had the number before me apparently owes money to someone. Allied Interstate calls me multiple times every day to collect debts which aren't mine. They are just relentless. They don't care who pays, just as long as somebody does.
Since I have deadbeat relatives, I've been through this exercise before. Calling these slimy bottom-feeders back and asking to discontinue the collection calls does no good and might even make the problem worse. They will keep calling and calling unless you send them a certified cease and desist letter with return receipt requested. You might even file a complaint with the FTC (which is like complaining to the wall, but it's worth a try).
The only way to stop these calls for sure is to send a certified letter. The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act states that you must send a written letter, and it's the only thing that really works, since hefty penalties are part of the law. Otherwise, you're wasting your time.- Caller: Allied Interstate

No messages left. No answer on pick up - RandyThis number calls my house EVERY day!! They use a recorded message and when I call back it talks about winning some prize or something. It's just a recording so I never actually get to talk with anyone.

- Computer generated robo callsI have received many, many calls from 1-800-258-8074. When I received a phone call on 10/18/2012 at 8:01 a.m. in the morning, paranormal activity started in my house. Additionally, my next door neighbor's house lost all of his electricity.
This phone number constantly calls my house and then if I can get someone on the line (only once) proceeds to tell me that I am someone who lives one street away and moved two years ago with the same address but avenue in the street name. Once they input your number in their computer system, that computer system robo calls your phone. - bearGet at least one call every day the one time i answered no one answered back its annoying

- AJ replies to unhappyThey are running out of land lines to call, any line will do, matters not.
Some 800#'s, not all, probably not qwest, get back charged .50 cents for pay phone calls.
Run up their tab if it's not inconvenient. - Tammy FipI have gotten these calls from this company for sometime now. I have been asked to be removed and they just hang up, so this is what I am doing to bug them!!!
1. Since they call so much I repeat back to them the very message that I have to hear everyday.
2. I just act like a crazy person and start asking them off the wall questions.. this one is the best!!!!
3. I just laugh my head off as loud as I can in the phone.
4.I make fart noises in the phone until they hang up
All I can say is to just play the game with them and maybe they will get tired of calling.
Hitting the number to be removed does not work, so I hit the number they tell me to to, so I can get a live person. This is when you can start your crazy conversations- Call type: Telemarketer
- LMichaelKam replies to Disgusted with Phone ScamsBilled me $391 for 2 months of $89.95 service package. Resolved by mail between myself and Direct TV. Now CenturyLink has re-opened the matter. I've sent documents to all 3 credit agencies disputing this debt. I live in an apt. complex directly in front of their dish. I just hope I'm a good enough driver not to accidently back into it.
- GwendyI don't have any debt so why would I be called.
