Displayed as unknown name but found out that the number called belonged due Direct Energy Air Filterations

The caller did not say anything but held the line open for several minutes with no response.

I checked on the Internet and it belongs to Direct Energy.

Direct Energy.  This number continually calls me, with the excuse that I have the home heating coverage protection plan, that covers a furnace check/tune up yearly.  I insist to them that I do NOT indeed have this coverage...and they say they will take my name OFF their list.  I have even had confirmation on 3 seperate occasions that I DO NOT have this coverage by the person calling me...yet I continue to get calls.  I just checked and they have called 12 times in 20 days.  I have had this phone number for over a year, and they have called repeatedly since I got it.  I don't know what more to do to get them to stop calling.

called "executive support team" twice now to get my name off list, currently on hold for third time.  They have complaints for this and for forgery.  People in the states have sued and won.
Google them...

Got a call from this number non stop. they dont give up. I called back and the woman said "no I am not calling you, but Ican take your name and phone no. and send an email to someone about this", I refused and hung up. Next time I am playing loud music if they call. Or better yet, I will make them wait and put them on hold. waste their time and money!

I've been getting a lot of calls from this #. We just recently got caller ID and I'm so glad we did, that way I know who calls and I don't have to answer!

One time my husband talked to Direct Energy they tried to sell him this 5 year even rate plan for natural gas.
Asked them to send info. They sent a cotract confirmation!!
So he called back and gave them sh**!

Yep another call from Direct Energy yadda yadda. Next time they call I'm going to go the route suggested by someone else on this site: gonna get all SEXY on them and ask them what they're wearing etc. ("oh yeah? know what I'm wearing? NUTHIN' baby, absolutely NUTHIN' but a smile!") heh heh heh heh heh - gonna tell them they might be selling gas but I'm sellin' Luuuuuuuuuvvvv! Now THAT'll give' em something to discuss in their next telesales strategies meetings ;-)

TWO more calls from them - both hang-ups with no messages left. Two LONG sessions on the phone to Direct Energy to take my name and number off their call list. Treid to be nice but made it clear I will pull the account and switch to electric heat or other if they do not cease to call. Fracking MORONS!

This number keeps calling us but nobody says anything.

I get calls from this number 2-3 times per day.

Once I actually spoke to someone who hardly knew any English and was very obviously reading from a script.  I said no thanks and hungup.

I've continued to get calls, so I called Direct Energy about this today.  They seemed quite surprised and when I mentioned this message board, said they were unaware of a problem.

I'm apparently now on the do not call list. We'll see.

It is definately Direct Energy. I called them back on my cell phone and spoke to the "All other Inquiries" person. His name was "James". I JUST got off the phone with him. (time now: 1235 p.m. EST) I told him that I get 3+ calls per day everyday and I have asked them to stop already to no avail. He has flagged my account (as I am in their system) to NOT call, email, etc. We'll see if it actually works. I also reminded him that it IS illegal now, to call a person more then 3 times in a 7-8 day consecutive time period. He went quiet on that one! I suggest that everyone give them a call and threaten legal acction if it does not stop!

Another call from these idiots! You would think that once I stated to them DIRECTLY to STOP CALLING they would at least think about it!?! But then again that's too easy for these robot people manning the phone lines!

Ditto on all counts.  Called.  Got some twit who wanted to "confirm my info"   before adding me to the no call list.  Would not forward me to any real human at Direct Energy because he's just some minimum wage wiener who works at a farmed-out call centre.  

I think going after all these companies is a waste of time.  We should be going after the one company who can stop all this from happening.  The phone company.  Problem is, they don't want to stop it as they're making a mint off this crap.

Found this page on a google search for the number. I have caller ID and have noticed this coming up on it about two or three times per day, which seems right in line with what everyone else is experiencing. Now that I know who it is, I'll never answer it. The voicemail they leave is always a hangup, so I figured it couldn't be important.

Just when I got through with (successfully!) dealing with this crap from Reliance (was Union Gas), I started getting calls from this number, Direct Energy (who the people in the house that I bought had a contract with for my old hot water heater).  Been getting 2 calls a day for the last two weeks, all dead air, and dead air voicemails.  It stopped for a week and now I just got another call.  Problem is they are calling my cell phone, which I use as my home phone--so this is costing me money!  Yet another talk with an apologetic moron CSR.  I asked him what he's going to do differently from the last 3 CSRs I called, to ensure I don't get these calls again, and he just said he was going to email his supervisor and put my number on their do not call list.  Fat effen chance!  I told him if I get another call, it's going to get ugly and I'm going to the media--maybe Silverman can help!

Loud music, good idea. I have a device that makes an absolutely horrible loud sound, to frighten bears. I'll keep it next to my phone.

I have a bear-whistle. It's as loud as a siren. Will keep next to the phone, as we don't have too many bears in the big city but we do have pesky telemarketers.

If you have voip(Primus)you can re-route incomming calls from this number... forward them to any favorite telemarketer of choice.. let them try and sell sh*t to each other! :)

just got another call from 800-266-3939, 5-6th this week. Didn't answer
