if you answer the phone,...do they get any information from you? i answered one of these calls from this number.
They asked me who i was and i did not answer but asked 'who is this?'...then they started to tell me that the call was being recorded and hung up...
now i am freaked out that they somehow have information that can assist in a scam or something - just from answering ...

is this possible?

The only thing they know for certain by calling is the number they called and that someone answered. If you did not give them any info, then they won't know who actually has the number, since people get new phones & phone numbers all the time. Some might have info about you and don't know if it is accurate until you confirm it or give them info they didn't have before calling.

I am pissed off!  The person says they are calling on behalf of a certain company and that they are aware that I no longer have a service contract with Enercare.  How the hell did they get that information, my name and my phone number.  Talk about a privacy breach.  I am contacting Enercare about it.

Calls started three days ago - one each day so far.  My iPhone displays a message to indicate it is likely "spam", so I have not answered it.  Also, I don't answer any 1-800 numbers, just on principle.
I will attempt to block the number, but they will likely find a way to work around that.

It wasted too much time and energy to deal with this annoying call.Anybody have a better solution ?

They call me constantly, at least 3 times a day .This is very annoying action. How can I stop it, please ?

They won't stop calling me. I looked up the number and says it's Enercare, but they never leave a message. I have not been contacted via mail or email from Enercare so I refuse to answer since numbers can be easily spoofed and if they truly wanted to reach me they would send lettermail or atleast leave a mesage.

Number 800-266-3939 just called. Did not leave a message.
