AT & T sold me DSL and the equipment never worked. I shipped it back using their labels. The charge would have been $328 if I hadn't shipped it. I shipped it, it was traceable to them. They waited 6 months and charged me $1700 for the equipment and 6 months service. I never used it once. I've been told 3 times by AT&T that they were satisfied with my proof (AT&T tells me now I don't owe them in fact).

That was 3 years ago. I just started getting calls from this number, they say that they don't know what the charge is for but now it $3300.

These people aren't reputable. So you can jump down off that perch on this number.

These people call me all the time. I do not owe money, have good credit and have never had an AT&T bill in my name. Instead of judging people why don't you find a way to help those who are being scammed. You seem to have a lot of time to sit around doing nothing... I can do that.. my bills are paid..in response to pay your bills

If people pay there bill you would never have to worry about getting a debt collector. I know that because debt collector only call when there is a bill that is not paid to a company. Remember things can happen you any one and something these things happen where you can pay your bill. What to do call the company regarding the bill and work it out with the company before it gets to a debt collector.

It called ME and says hold for the next representative.
I called them back at their request and the automated answerer says all lines are busy, call back later.
I think I'll choose to 'not' call it back.

I do not have any past due bills so they are not calling ME.  Someone else may have used my phone number but my credit is outstanding.

If the entity was not gutless and trying to take advantage of someone, they would have stated their name and connected me with a live voice.

Life happens... plain and simple. These guys are doing a job. And if we all get personal about it, it will ping pong back and forth forever and do nothing but increase everyone's blood pressure.

Debtors: if you can't or won't cooperate, the paperwork will proceed through the collection channels.

Collectors: if you get personal about your profession, to the point of de-humanizing the debtor, you will ultimately fail.

Both sides need to stay in check. It's really simple, people. Debtors, don't answer the phone unless you are willing and able to make a payment. If the collector doesn't contact you, he or she will continue to sit in their cubicle for the rest of their day and do what they get paid to do anyway. And if any family members are being contacted and wish not to be, they can tell them to stop calling, and by law they have to.
    PROBLEM SOLVED!

I have received calls from these people SEVERAL times & every time it is someone telling me they are referring my case to federal court, that I owe $1000 for a payroll advance!! I've NEVER in my life had a cash advance & never will! I sent them $100 via Western Union & when I tried to confirm that they had received it, no one would call me back. They called again a few months later & claimed they knew nothing about the $100! I don't care if you people say they are legit or not, I know from PERSONAL experience that they are scam artists! I have reported them to my local police as well as the FCC but nothing is being done. They contacted my mother today & now I am planning to go IN PERSON to their office to handle this matter! I'm done screwing with these idiots!

I had several blocked calls to my cell phone and today they finally left a voicemail.  A very fast-speaking, hateful voice said it was urgent that she get a call back by 5 o'clock today.  The name she was calling for was my company, which she said backwards.  I called her back and she said she was calling about an outstanding AT&T bill and needed payment by credit or debit card over the phone to prevent further action.  The account she was calling about is a current, working AT&T account, which has no past due balance.  I informed her of this and to also stop calling my number.  She said that she would then have to take "further action."  I wished her luck.
This is a scam and a fishing expedition to scare people into paying something they don't owe.  In other words, it's FRAUD!  I have reported them to AT&T and the Attorney General.

Point is, many of us have no debt, no bills, no AT&T acct ever, no student loans ever....that's when we are furious with these calls.  Of course if you owe money you can be harassed, but man oh man, when you don't owe a cent this really freezes you.  There is no way, ever, to make it stop short of an expensive lawyer.  I file FTC complaints but that doesn't help.

Yes it is a collection agency for AT&T.  The thing is, I have never had service with AT&T.  We have it currently for internet services but it is in my husbands name and the bill is current.  They would not give me any information about the "debt" unless I gave them social security # and birth date.

    Scam Cracker
First of all, a debt collector must provide the consumer with the debt information in writing and mail it to you before any negotiations begin on debt collection.  When they call you, they are to state who they are, company, address and the reason for the call - not say you owe a debt and they want your credit card number or else!  That is their method of operation and it is against the law!  Collection agencies can not take you to court because they buy debts from creditors therefore, they are not the originator of the debt and have no legal grounds.  Creditors can make a judgement against you but they can not sue you for the debt and collections agencies do not have authority to file a judgement on a creditor's behalf.  For them to say they can just shows how uneducated they are about debt collections.

Secondly, most all debts are reported to all three collection agencies by creditors, NOT COLLECTION AGENCIES and that includes ATT.  Our credit report does not reflect such a debt and ATT verified this by stating we would not have service if we owed them money.  ATT probably writes off a portion of the debt and sells it to a collection agency to absorb the remaining costs. Duh!

Thirdly, whether a person owes a debt or not, this company is under serious violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act/Federal Trade Commission and they need to be put out of business.

All of you who think this company is legitimate, legal and providing proper etiquette for debt collecting - then please give them YOUR credit card number and pay off the bogus debts they are trying to collect on so they will leave the rest of us alone!.

Prince Parker & Associates, you need to move on to the next victim cause we ain't buying into your BS!  Coming from an ex-debt collector who is appalled they are getting away with this!
