We keep receiving recorded phone calls from William Fields.  We have requested numerous times they not call this number, but to no avail have we succeeded.  We have children that answer this phone and would prefer they not deal with these callers.  They have threatened many times when we refuse to
allow them access to staff.  They have refused to remove this number.  When ask “what part of remove
this number from your records do you not understand” they get really angry and start threatening again.

Tim Cooper left a very vulgar message for my husband on his work VM. My husband and I decided to call him back and make his day. I am still laughing at the things my husband said to him. OKAY so look, if you do owe money to a payday loan and that company does not take you to small claims to garnish your wages for the debt you owe, then no other company can. I worked for a company who bought write off accounts from other loan companies. The company you owed money to wrote your debt off. Then they sell your account for pennies. Then [***] like "Tim Cooper" call you and threaten your freedom and job security. I take this phone call, answer it and expose these uneducated [***] for the 8.00$ an hour they make. They think by spitting out fake "case" numbers and the last for of your SS# and the company you work for that they will scare you into paying. I have been around the block too many times to know what can happen. I just hope he calls again, I want to have some fun!

I have been getting calls from this number on a regular basis with a very loud recording from William Fields referencing a claim # - I called the 800 number back and spoke with Jeffery and told him that the pay day loan he was talking about was fraudulent. I also told him that I have a police report open on identity theft from a little while back that I can fax to him. He never provide a fax number, instead he then told me "to watch my tone and that I need to respect my elders." At that point I knew he was not a professional and that this may be a scam. I hung up and they continue to call. So I decided to look this business up and I found this site and it has calmed my nerves a bit. Thank you for all of the info shared. I hope mine is helpful as well.

I started getting these calls yesterday from "PDL Group" from a person named Timothy Orman, called my cell phone twice yesterday and since I didn't recognize the number I let it go to VM.
This morning the receptionist at my job came and told me that someone called for me demanding to speak with me because when they select my ext, they only get my VM. She said she told them I wasn't available and to leave a message, I would call them back. He then went on to ask to be transferred to my payroll department..... ARE YOU SERIOUS?????? WHO DOES THAT?????? I am so glad I decided to look them up and came across this page! I have no doubt this person will call back and when he does, I will have a few choice words for him!

    Tired of the bullcrap
This William Fields has a recording that makes it sound like he is working with the Attorney General.  He isnt.  Its a way a chop shop collector collects a write off debt.  He is not filing anything.  He calls me all the time with threats.  Contact the Attorney Generals office and file a complaint.  He is a mouse.

I have been receiving calls from these idiots daily at my job and on my cell phone. I sent them a cease and desist and also sent them a copy of the Nevada Statutes that they are violating. For all of you in Nevada if they are not licensed they are breaking the law and can be prosecuted themselves. Here are some of the statutes I included in my cease and desist. Lets see if this works

NRS 649.370 Violation of federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.  A violation of any provision of the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, 15 U.S.C. §§ 1682 et seq., or any regulation adopted pursuant thereto, shall be deemed to be a violation of this chapter.
(Added to NRS by 2007, 2500)
NRS 649.375  Prohibited practices.  A collection agency, or its manager, agents or employees, shall not:
        1.  Use any device, subterfuge, pretense or deceptive means or representations to collect any debt, nor use any collection letter, demand or notice which simulates a legal process or purports to be from any local, city, county, state or government authority or attorney.
        2.  Collect or attempt to collect any interest, charge, fee or expense incidental to the principal obligation unless:
        (a) Any such interest, charge, fee or expense as authorized by law or as agreed to by the parties has been added to the principal of the debt by the creditor before receipt of the item of collection;
        (b) Any such interest, charge, fee or expense as authorized by law or as agreed to by the parties has been added to the principal of the debt by the collection agency and described as such in the first written communication with the debtor; or
        (c) The interest, charge, fee or expense has been judicially determined as proper and legally due from and chargeable against the debtor.
        3.  Assign or transfer any claim or account upon termination or abandonment of its collection business unless prior written consent by the customer is given for the assignment or transfer. The written consent must contain an agreement with the customer as to all terms and conditions of the assignment or transfer, including the name and address of the intended assignee. Prior written consent of the Commissioner must also be obtained for any bulk assignment or transfer of claims or accounts, and any assignment or transfer may be regulated and made subject to such limitations or conditions as the Commissioner by regulation may reasonably prescribe.
        4.  Operate its business or solicit claims for collection from any location, address or post office box other than that listed on its license or as may be prescribed by the Commissioner.
        5.  Harass a debtor’s employer in collecting or attempting to collect a claim, nor engage in any conduct that constitutes harassment as defined by regulations adopted by the Commissioner.
        6.  Advertise for sale or threaten to advertise for sale any claim as a means to enforce payment of the claim, unless acting under court order.
        7.  Publish or post, or cause to be published or posted, any list of debtors except for the benefit of its stockholders or membership in relation to its internal affairs.
        8.  Conduct or operate, in conjunction with its collection agency business, a debt counseling or prorater service for a debtor who has incurred a debt primarily for personal, family or household purposes whereby the debtor assigns or turns over to the counselor or prorater any of the debtor’s earnings or other money for apportionment and payment of the debtor’s debts or obligations. This section does not prohibit the conjunctive operation of a business of commercial debt adjustment with a collection agency if the business deals exclusively with the collection of commercial debt.

    NRS 649.400  Injunctive relief.
        1.  If upon investigation it appears that a collection agency is conducting its business in violation of this chapter or the regulations adopted by the Commissioner, or when it appears that any person is engaging in the business of a collection agency without being licensed under the provisions of this chapter, the Commissioner may:
        (a) Advise the district attorney of the county in which the business is conducted, and the district attorney shall cause the appropriate legal action to be taken to enjoin the operation of the business or prosecute the violations of this chapter; or
        (b) Bring suit in the name and on behalf of the State of Nevada against such a person and any other person concerned in or in any way participating in or about to participate in such unsafe or injurious practices or action in violation of this chapter or the regulations adopted by the Commissioner to enjoin any such person from continuing or engaging in such practices or doing any such act.
        2.  If the Commissioner brings suit, the district court of any judicial district may grant injunctions to prevent and restrain such practices or transactions. The court may, during the pendency of the proceedings before it, issue such temporary restraining orders as may appear to be just and proper. The findings of the Commissioner shall be deemed to be prima facie evidence and sufficient grounds, in the discretion of the court, for the issue ex parte of a temporary restraining order. In any such proceedings the Commissioner may apply for and on due showing is entitled to have issued the court’s subpoena requiring forthwith the appearance of any defendant and his or her employees and the production of such documents, books and records as appear necessary for the hearing of the petition, to testify and give evidence concerning the acts or conduct or things complained of in the application for an injunction.

    PENALTIES
NRS 649.435  Criminal penalty for violations; each day of unlawful operation constitutes separate offense.  Any person who violates any provision of this chapter is guilty of a gross misdemeanor. Each day a person operates a collection agency in violation of the provisions of this chapter is a separate violation under this section.

Receive calls asking me to call this 800-290-1065 number back (automated message from Ms. Reynolds). But the caller ID says (716) 831-2565. They called my mother's cell phone for over 6 months before they figured out it wasn't mine. When you answer the phone, there's no one there. WEIRD. When you send it to voicemail, you get a pre-recorded message with a Reference Number. I just ignore them.

Kept getting calls repeatedly from this number. Finally one day I returned the call and never was spoken to so rudely. I flipped out and asked them to mail the documents to me. The representative repeated my social security number and adddres. Then I got a 'director' on the phone and finally she said that she could email me them.

I also contacted a place where I took a payday loan last year, and it's paid off. Reading this information, I'm happy I'm researching it and not just paying to get them to stop calling.

They are calling you at your jobs to frighten you. Then you'll pay. If they threaten to call payroll to garnish you, they can't. Garnishment is done through the court. The court will send they request to the payroll/HR dept. It will include the court case number, the amount, and who the payee is. Your employer will notify you when the garnishment is to start. You should have time to object if you want.
Go to www.ftc.gov  consumer protection tab. If you tell them to NOT call you at work they are supposed to stop. Every time after that is a violation and you may be able to collect. Have the receptionist, whoever, track the calls. Your business maybe able to collect for harrassment.
