It's no wonder people get ripped off for millions of dollars every year. They're so damn stupid, they think they can post a "block that number" request on some random web page and someone will take care of it for them. Jezuz Chryst! What idiots.

This call might be a scam artist spoofing the AT&T customer service number. DO NOT provide the caller any personal information or answer any sensitive questions!!!

DO NOT answer any calls from this number.  They called offering an account credit and stole my info to make fraudulent calls to Cuba on my account.  AT&T is conducting an investigation.  If you have issues call their customer service number on their website.

This number is the AT&T service number but I received repeated calls from this number, always late at night. When I finally answered, a man claiming to be from the AT&T Verification Dept was offering 25% off my monthly bill. It turns out that they were spoofing AT&T. I've verified with the AT&T fraud department that this is a scam. Do not provide any information. Also as a safeguard, add an additional passcode to secure your account and monitor your monthly bills.

When dealing with customer service (the real one) they've also called with this number but it's always in response to a customer service question that I've had. So just be wary.

I just answered this call.. am glad I did it was indeed A T and T and I had downloads on my phone that I wanted off and the foriegn speaking gentlman was awesome I was credited 173.00

Constant annoying calls

There is NOTHING wrong with this number. They just called me and it was indeed AT&T Customer Care, following up on my call on April 4th regarding a mistake they'd made where an overdue bill (paid) was credited to the wrong account and got sent to collections. They wanted to make sure that the issue had been cleared up to my satisfaction (it was), and that's it.

You can accept calls from this number. It will not hurt you.

Got a call from this number in the early a.m. - no message - I am on the 'do not call' list, but that doesn't seem to stop these types of calls. Very annoying.

A woman spoke asking for a Mrs P... something or another then hung up. Weird [***] this.

I did not answer.

This scam continues.  At least ATT noted on my bill that I had a 9.99 new charge. When I looked it was from a LUX company supplying me with wallpaper / ringtones / alerts.  I never ordered these things (nor would I ever - nothing wrong with them but I only use my phone to talk and can hardly text).  An interesting point is that ATT has a lot of 9.99 charges so this looked pretty innocuous.  ATT did cancel the "service" and refunded me $ 1 within 5  min.  Maybe because of pressure they are 1) telling people about these charges and 2) doing some fix quickly.  The best thing to do would be to stop these actions in the first place.

I keep getting call from this number, They never leave a voice mail, I have no clue who it is. I am registered with Do Not Call.org & it doesn't help.

I called an AT&T operator & told her about my call & the text message warning me about a charge going to my account.  She said it sounded fishy.  When the guy call me back again I told him that I didn't think he was from AT & T & not to call back.  I will look close at my next several bills to be sure they didn't sign me up for some unwanted service.  Sometimes you have to question a deal that sounds too good before you take the bait.

it was AT&T calling from their specialized whatever line. and yes she was indian. we had problems with our uverse service and they are calling to make sure the tech fixed it and it's doing ok.

If this number calls you it is a fraud. I am on the phone with att and they will never call out with this number. This number is only for customers to call in.

BE CAREFUL giving out your info to them because they sound and act just like the att people. ATT personally confirmed that its not them!!!!!!

Actually, Verizon is now a part of AT&T and they outsource calls to India, Philippines and Pakistan.  When I get these people it is usually if I call on weekends or after 7 pm (EST).  So, while they are legit, you are on the Do Not Call list and you should go to their website and file a complaint.  I did and I received a letter from AT&T/Verizon apologizing and got a full month's credit on my wireless bill.  I have since received no calls from them.
Incidentally, this is not the only company I have filed a complaint on.  I've filed at least 25 and of the 25 complaints filed, I have received apology letters from 19 of the companies and the calls have stopped.  So, something somewhere is working as it should.  
My suggestion would be to file with DoNotCall.gov (I believe, that is a correct web site) and file a complaint.  It can't hurt.  And, you may be surprised later.
