I received a call from 18003310500 at 12:43 AM the day after Thanksgiving. It woke me up. I did not answer.

They called me at 1 am on Sunday and left a voicemail claiming they were Verizon Wireless and that my account was suspended. My account is fine so I did not return the call

Called and said they were going to credit my AT&T account $99 for being such a long time customer. But first they needed for me to verify my pin number with AT&T.  Told them they should not need that to credit my account. They hung up. This is a Scam

Called, let go to VM, left an automated message, saying my Verizon Account (don't have one) has been suspended due to verification needed, press 1 to speak to a representative.  I'm guess they want your name, Soc, bank account or credit card info.  SCAM, SCAM, SCAM!!

Received a recorded call from "Verizon Wireless" that my account has been suspended. (The account holder for my phone is another person with another number, and she did not get any such call.) The recording asked me to enter the account holder's number, which I did not. After a while, the recording said "hold on to speak to a representative" and then "due to high call volume" I'd be called back in about 30 minutes. I'm waiting for that call so I can get more info and report this scam to the FTC and Verizon.

Call started "Dear AT&T Wireless Customer, your account has been suspended..." I'm NOT an AT&T wireless customer at all.  I pressed 2 to speak to a representative.  Then it asked for the last 4 digits of my SSN (I said "no") and the AT&T Account Password (I said "no, speak to an operator")  It placed me on hold while it "tried that extension" and then abruptly said "goodbye" and disconnedted.

I just posted a few min after you - the recording said AT&T Wireless for me rather than Verizon.  I reported it to the FTC since I'm on the do not call list.

Looks like this number has been used for about 10 years, so why isn't it on every block list in the country? Anyway, my call said it was Verizon and my account was suspended, I haven't been on Verizon for 5 years so...

Received a call from 800 331-0500 but didn't answer it. My husband had called me earlier to say he received a call from AT&T and not to answer it. They're trying to poach Verizon customers to AT&T.  He call Verizon and reported the call and they said they are aware of what's going on.

See above. I never heard from the caller, as was promised.

After I reported the call to Verizon Wireless, I got this response:  "Yes, this is a phishing scam.  Thank you for reporting this to us, and we recommend you block this number on your device."

Now they are saying they are from Verizon, but same scam, they are saying my service is suspended, but I pulled up something on the internet using my 4G and it came right up.  This is BS.

Same as almost everyone else. Caller ID came up as AT&T Customer Service. Recording said my account was temporarily suspended and to press 1 to reactivate or press 2 to speak with a Representative. So for giggles I pressed 2. Then, the recording asked for the last 4 digits of the account holders SS#. I pressed the pound sign. The recording then said "Thank you, please enter your account number" so I pressed 1 thru 9. The recording said "Thank you, a representative will return your call within 30 minutes" the call then disconnected. This is a BS scam call.... Yes the number is attached to the real AT&T.. however, these clowns are spoofing the number to try and fool people... Be careful everyone!

While the 800 number may well be an ATT-issued number, it is clearly a spam or scam, since it called my T-Mobile served cell phone.

This number called my cell phone (Verizon) from my local area code, and the same prefix as my own cell number. When i called back from a blocked landline, the recording said it could not accept a call from a blocked number, and to call 1-800-331-0500. SO I checked here, first, of course - I don't have AT&T nor Cingular so they don't want me.

I received a call from this number at 10:15  at night.  I do not have ATT so I don't know why they called.  I never received any text either.  I did not answer and immediate blocked the number.

Left a voicemail saying that my account has been suspended.  Called AT&T and they said it's a scam and the number that is showing IS an AT&T number - but the scammer is using a "mask".

    Fed-up With Scams
Somebody who started of as someone named Jessica has been blowing up my phone since the summer for something called student loan forgiveness asking you to press 1 if you want it and 8 if you don't and its always  your last chance to participate in the program.  It's my last chance every time they call and they've been calling since the summer.  If call the number back (which shows as a local number), you get a funny tone that sounds like the number you called is disconnected, then you get an automated message to dial 611 or call 1-800-331-0500 which other writers on this site say is a scam.  Be ware.
