We are sorry to hear about your experience.  Please be aware that we at PredictoMobile take customer satisfaction very seriously and would like to address any concerns you may have.  You can call us 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at 800-360-0518 so that we can resolve your inquiry; you can also contact our customer service at http://predicto.com/support or by sending an SMS message with the word ”HELP” to 654654.  Keep in mind, we post our toll-free customer service number on our website and include it in SMS messages we send to your cell phone.

Please note we use an industry best practice double opt-in to prevent inadvertent or fraudulent sign-ups.  To enroll in our service, a prospective member must first submit their cell phone number on the PredictoMobile sign-up page which clearly explains our terms and conditions including the monthly price of the service and billing to the cell phone.  We then send a text message to their cell phone which again discloses the essential membership terms.  They then must correctly enter the PIN on our website or reply with a confirmation SMS message from their cell phone to activate the account.  The double opt-in process and clear disclosures ensures a high level of consumer protection and satisfaction.  If a member wants to cancel the service, they can simply text “stop” to 654654 or call Customer Service or go to http://predicto.com/support.

We hope this addresses any concerns you may have; if not please contact us and we’ll take care of your issues.

    Sincerely,

    Customer Service

Doesn't sound like the best customer service from Alltel.  I am with TMobile and I had reported this within 15 minutes of receiving two unauthorized text messages and the rep I spoke with said that it is best to call right away and let your carrier know about the unauthorized texts, rather than wait a few months and then report it.

Also about replying STOP to 654654, I had another text come through from Celfire, which again I never signed up for and to stop the text messages, you would reply STOP, which never worked.

The rep at TMobile told me that it is best to not reply to those messages and ask your carrier to block premium text messages from texting your phone.

I have to wonder if someone is randomly typing in phone numbers to the website, as I had never hea

Don't give up and always report unauthorized texts right away to your carrier.

The best thing to do is to contact your mobile carrier right away and report the text messages.  My carrier told me that I had done the right thing and they were able to block these messages from being sent to my phone.
Most people I have read are also getting charged, even when ignoring the texts.
Ask for premium text message blocking.

Don't ignore these texts, whatever you do.  Call your carrier right away, as soon as you receive the text and let them know you are receiving unauthorized texts from 654654.  Most carriers are aware of this problem and will gladly place a premium text message block on your phone for no charge, which will hopefully prevent this company from charging you.

I have reason to believe that predicto.com is typing random numbers into there website or someone may have typed in the wrong number onto there website.  Whatever it may be, I had never heard of them until after receiving two text messages.

By the way, there customer service is a joke.  They will not give you an honest answer on how they got a hold of your number.  Sorry, but I don't do online surveys, so there is no way possible they got a hold of my number from that.

I do not have time for games and from the sounds of things, many people are getting hit with charges from this company, that never authorized there services, regardless what there customer service may tell you.

Why don't you ever list your name?  What are you hiding from?  From everything I have read, predicto.com sounds like a dishonest company.

For the record, there are people out there, like me, who have never heard of your website, never have participated in online surveys or other online junk.  Yet your company has the nerve to tell us all that the only way your company got a hold of our number was by providing it on some sort of online survey site, predicto.com or some other online source.

Well, for the record, your company and its employees should truthfully be able to give an answer to a person who questions your business and how your business got a hold of there phone number.  Your company obviously has a database that has numbers and therefore should be able to track the source where the number was provided on and when.

This is definitely shady business practice and I hope that predicto.com and your other sites get fined by the FCC along with the Attorney General.

I called and had all texts canceled at 10:17AM EDT this morning and at 1:30PM EDT. I received another text message.  I have called again.  I hope it works this time.  I will continue to try to report this problem to anyone who will listen to me.  I think it is aborable and irresponsible to continue to text people just because the take part in one particular site.  It MUST stop!!!

I called Predicto at their 1-800-360-0518 number at 8:30PM PST.  A lady answered right away, but I could tell from her accent that she was Indian (as in New Delhi).  I gave her my name and cell number and asked for all texts to stop.  She replied that I agreed to this text messaging on 5/25/09, which was impossible, since we weren't home that day (Memorial Day).  I told her to block all texts to our number from now and in the near future.  I got a cancellation confirmation number and made note of this in case more texts are received.  She told me that a cancellation text will be sent shortly, but I quickly told her no, don't bother.

Once alerted, T-Mobile has removed this $9.99 charge from our current bill and has now blocked all text messages from 654654.  T-Mobile also told me that they have no way to prevent other 3rd party charges from being tacked onto our cell phone bill.

I filed a complaint with the FTC against PredictoMobile, since it is obvious that this was a bogus charge not authorized by us.  I went to their website and found out that anyone could add a random cell number to begin receiving their prediction texts...  The poor owner would then be charged $9.99.  What a bunch of crock!!

Please be vigilant and check your cell phone bills monthly.  We will scrutinize our bills from now on...

By the way, I did confirm that I had reached a call center located in India.  This scam is being now perpetuated from offshore...  Isn't technology great?!
