Same thing happened to me, if you send Stop or Cancel to the text message, it will end the "subscription"

I received 2 messages today.  I immediately called AT&T.  I was told that there are no charges showing on my bill, and I had them add the Purchase Blocker service.

ITS CALLED CRAMMING AND ITS ILLEGAL, Alltel is required to remove the charges that you have not authorized.  You need to report the company cramming you to the FCC and FTC and State Attorney General.

IF you phone company refuses to remove the unauthorzed charges REPORT THEM TOO!

When the call is made, an automated system is activated and you are unknowingly enrolled in a club or program, and the charge is placed on your phone bill. The crammer might not even need to do anything except simply pick your phone number out of the blue and place charges on your bill through your local telephone company, claiming that you agreed to purchase some services.
Look at your bill closely every month. Charges for optional services should be itemized and show the name of the company providing them and its phone number. If you did not authorize the services, call that number and insist that they be canceled and the charges removed from your bill.

Also, consider putting a third party block on your phone service. It's often free and it does not let any third party add charges to your phone bill.

Sending text messages costing me money each time

sending STOP doesn't work.  it says service is down.. really convenient!

and they will stop the messages.  also, they won't charge you, and can't charge you, unless you signed up for their service by replying "yes"  i'm guessing you people getting charged don't want to admit you said "yes" to their service.  your best solution is to not sign up for online "freebies".  Remember that NOTHING comes for free and when you sign up for "free playstations!  free iphones!" etc, you will never get out of it free. there is NO SUCH THING AS A FREE LUNCH

654-654 is the caller Id of Predicto. A class action has been filed against them in Eastern District of Michigan (see http://www.courthousenews.com/2009/09/18/Alltel2.pdf) because they billed new cell phone subscribers using contracts they got former customers.

In two words if get a new cell phone number and a former customer had same cell-phone number with Predicto billing then you will get billed by Predicto.

Once they get your cell number, it does not matter if you ever subscribed or not. A new class action may start soon about this subject.
