- Dave| 1 replyThey keep calling and when I answer they hang up. I called them back yesterday to find out what they wanted and they said they were "doing a survey for a company you recently did business with". I told them to quit calling. They called again today and hung up again. I found out on whocalled.us this is probably a car dealership that serviced my car recently, so that would Lou Fusz Subaru of St. Louis. whocalled.us says this is a typical ploy, they'll tell you thet you could get top dollar for trading in your car, this is get you in their showroom to buy a new one. A slick way to get around the do-not-call lists, eh? Well I blocked that number with AT&T's call blocking service, we'll see if it works.

- JayCalled the number and they stated that they're a marketing service for Jim McKay Chevrolet, and offered to put me on the "Do Not Call" registry, but may take up to 30 days for it to take affect. She gave a crappy answer stating, "You're not being hung up on when you answer the phone", but couldn't provide any reason for the dead air. Scam by telemarketers, and should be reported to Better Business Bureau as well as a complaint against the car dealerships.

- John replies to DaveHi, I just got the same type of phone (3 times today) from 800-364-4092. when I called them back, they said it was from some 'Jane's Auto Salvage' -- which I had NEVER heard of.
I contacted AT&T and they told me call blocker does NOT block 800 numbers OR cell phone numbers.
Just thought you should know. - DFCall everyday-when I answer there is no one there. VERY ANNOYING!!!
- Frank| 8 repliesFor all those who are upset about the recent calls you are getting,
I am an employee of DME, the company that does these calls and just want to let you know some insight about what i understand with the company itself. We do calls on behalf of car dealerships and furniture stores mainly, and are mostly calling to follow up on recent visits and purchases made at these store, but also one type of call that you may receive is on behalf of the dealerhsip trying to get you to upgrade your current vehicle. The Do not call list does not apply ti this particular company because of two facts: 1) if you have done busniess or had a relationship with a company the have a six month period in which they are able to contact you. 2) because of the fact that they are not selling anything, but merely trying to set appointments at which to visit the companys.
Now to those that complain about getting multiple calls. This company does use an automatic computer dialing program that calls hundreds of people per minute. In fact the calls are only routed to a agent after the call has been connected, either a answering machine or a person. By the time the call is routed to a live person, around 5 to 10 seconds, most people have hung up the phone. Also if no live agents are ready then the automated system will terminate the call without anyone ever saying a word. That is why people are getting multiple calls with no one on the other end of the phone.
Now the fun part, people who are receiving these calls can continue to call n and blame us, the agents trying to help you and have no control over the calls, or you can simply ask us to place you on the internal do not call list which will get the calls stopped for you.
Thanks for your time and i hope this helps.- Caller: DME
- NicoleI had the same thing. Answered the phone and no one was there. I just called them back and had them take me off the call list. They were asking questions about my car.

- A. H. YurickThere are usually one or two call per day, every day except possibly Sunday, when I'm usually not home. I don't check caller ID to see if someone's called without leaving a message, so there may be more calls from this number than I'm aware of. There was no one on the line the times I answered and there is never a message when I don't answer.
- Annoyed replies to Frank| 3 repliesIf you are an employee for this company this post on here why I'm getting calls and I have never been to this dealership, not for sales, or maintenance on my vehicles which by the way are not dodge products. Can u at least tell this automated machine to not call people that have nothing to do with company. That is if you care!

- GregoryMine was a "missed call" on my cell. I called and it was indeed a marketing service.
They were calling to remind me of service needed to my Honda. I guess mail and email
reminders are not enough. I called the dealership who hired these clowns and expressed
my displeasure at receiving hang up calls at their behest. Now I know that these companies
use autodialers and they often don't connect to an agent in time. However, my aging
shut in parents do not. These "hang up" calls frighten them. There ought to be a law.
Oh wait there is one. But these folks work technically within it. So besides calling and asking
to be put on their "do not call list", do call whomever hired them and tell them how not
warm and fuzzy it makes you feel.- Call type: Survey
- Arnold| 1 replyThe company making all of these calls is DME. Their actual number is 800-345-9080. I plan to call them several times a day for several weeks, and then hang up if someone answers. Perhaps they'll get the message. Perhaps not, but the more people who do this, the more chances they'll have to understand.

- randythey keep calling, they need to stop!
- John DI'm experiencing the same things as the rest of you. I've been getting the same call from these imbeciles for over a week now and it won't stop. I called the number back and told them they will immediately remove my number. The nice girl on the other end of the phone stated they have up to 30 days, I informed her she has 24 hours or I'll call the FTC. That really upset me, so I went to the do not call registry and that number is not listed with them. So, I've filed a complaint with the FTC about that number. We'll see what the government slugs will do (most likely nothing....I've NEVER met a government pencil-pushing paycheck-collecting mule that actually handled their job the way they were supposed to). I'll most likely get a response that will reference me to the do not call registry or the basic government "DUH" that I usually get when I need something taken care of.
Man, I'd really like to reach out and strangle someone!

- DHThis is the fault of the person who gave them your number. In my case it was the dealership that serviced my car - also a Lou Fusz dealership as with a previous poster. I called the service manager and complained to him. At first he said they never share information, but he said he would look into it and he called me back later. They provide information to this company (DME) to try to get existing customers to buy a new car. Since you are an existing customer the "no call" does not apply if you have done business with them in the last 6 months but he offered to fill out a form getting me on DME's no-call list if I wanted to. To anyone who gets these calls - ask DME who provided the number and then complain loud and long to them. In his defense, the service manager was on my side and agreed that (especially) work information should never be shared. This decision was at a higher level than him and makes me question whether I want to do business with them again. Sales is one thing - but we give out phone numbers to the guy at the service desk so they can call us about the status of our car repairs - not to get a call from a marketing company.
- DJ| 1 replyGot calls yesterday and again today and they don't leave messages. Being a worry-wart I returned their call and held for 3 minutes before 'Jane" answered the call. Turns out it is similar to above posters and is a marketing company representing a car dealership I recently took my Ford to for service. Supposedly they wanted to 'buy' my limited Mustang for above market value from me. Of course, Jane had no other info, just wanted to set up an appointment with the dealership to talk trades. If I was looking to 'trade' my car, I would have approached them. But now, I will never shop at their dealership. How dare they call my cell phone and try to 'sell' me a car when I was just there for service. I asked them NOT to give out my cell phone # yet they did. I will NEVER purchase a car from them now. Just so you know where to not take your business to, it was Future Ford of Concord CA.
- Call type: Telemarketer
- DH replies to DJDJ: Don't just tell us - tell the dealership. I would encourage all of these posters to call the dealerships and complain to management as high as you can go - at least a general manager. Let them know what an invasion of your privacy this and that they are misusing information given to them in trust and good faith as private. That is the only way to get this to stop.
- FF| 2 repliesCalling the dealership doesn't help! So I decided to fight back! I'm getting a kick out of this. They called me twice in 1 hour, and never answered. So I did the same thing for an hour! It was great! I figure everytime I call, they can't call out! I must have made (at least) 50 calls. I heard about 15 different "customer service reps" answer, "Hello, this is -------, is ###-###-###, the number you were contacted on?" Then after a while, they stopped answering MY calls. How great is that! Imagine if we all did it a few minutes a day... They'd be so busy answering bogus calls, they wouldn't have time to call out!

- CCThis number keeps ringing my phone everyday. As a telemarketer, they should know if their call did not get through dozens of times, it means people do not like them and they better stop calling. It is really annoying. BTW, never had a dodge or DM product and mostly certain not will have one.
