They have been calling me regularly for some weeks now. They don't leave messages, but their number is often on the caller ID. It doesn't seem to matter to this company that I am on the national do not call list. - ChristineThey've been calling my cell phone for a week now. I answered once and no one responded. Still calling, even today, I stopped answering.
- brinaimWe get multiple calls a day from (800) 364-4092 but they will not leave messages and they hang up when you answer. I finally called the number back and they answer with something like, "Customer Interaction Center, this is xxxxxx, is the number you're calling from xxx-xxx-xxxx?"
They then told me that they're calling me on behalf of Hansel Motor Company. I didn't let the person go any further. I asked that they not call me any more and that when they do call people they should at least talk when someone answers the phone. They said they'd take us off their list but that it would take 12-24 hours to do so.
I called back to find out the exact company name so I could report it here and was told the company is "DME".- Caller: DME

bought a used dodge nearly 5 years ago.
5 minutes after getting a call on my cell from 800-364-4092, i received a call on my home phone from 773-920-1784.
after searching, the seem to be the same place.- Caller: FOPTL41
- JIt's a 3rd party affiliated with Daimler-Chrysler, or at least that's what they said. They wanted to know if I wanted to sell them my Jeep. They called me like 4 times a day for 4 days at the most inconvenient times (late at night, early in the morning) etc. Essentially it's phone spam.

Whoever this is never leaves a message on my machine but just hangs up. I get this call every morning and every evening. I have been letting the answer machine pick it up but they just never leave a massage. I got mad and answer it with a scream and said in a loud voice(I did not use any bad language)for them to stop calling. They immediately hung up.
I'm just going to scream next time and keep screaming until they hang up. Maybe they will stop. But I will never answer polite to this harrassing caller. To me it's harrassing to keep calling and never leave a message as to who they are.
But any of you who think that putting your home phone number or cell phone number on the National Do Not Call Directory will stop these calls, your wrong. I have been on the N.D.N.C.D. for a few years now and they still call.
I have read that the reason is that the number these bad people are calling you from is somehow connected through other numbers and if you could trace those numbers back to the original phone line, you'd find it is more than likely to a foreign phone number in another country. Our country, can do nothing to protect us from these calls as they change numbers from where they call from every few days to keep the track cold.
So just about the time you think they have stopped calling, they will start up calling you again with a new phone number thinking you'll answer it. If you don't have an answer machine, I'd advise you to get one. I look to see who is calling and if I don't recognize the number, I don't answer. Except that I did today to try to stop them from calling. It stopped them last time for 2 months after they called for a few weeks and never left a message, I figured it was someone trying to scam me again on the phone. So I guess they have recycled my phone number to some of their friends or have gotten a new phone number and have started up with calling me again.
You can try this to see if it works for you. My next step is to only pick up the phone and scream as loud as I can. I will do this for a while and hopefully it will stop their calls for a while. She said she was calling on behalf of a car dealership where I had bought my car. They wanted to give me a professional apprasial, and an offer for a new one. I told her "I thought that was done when I purchased the car" by the way, my car is new, and has 10,000 miles on it.Well, to me thats new. I finally hung up on her.My phone co. is QWEST, and I was able to block the call. However, these people probably have 20 different #'s, so, I will likely get another call.Yes, I am going to contact the dealership. I understand that a company you have done business with, is allowed to call, and they don't have to obey the DO_NOT CALL policy.. When I do business with anyone, including TAX RETURNS, I write on the form "do not give info to any 3rd party." Good luck to all of us.I really feel like calling this # and telling them I am doing a survey on annoying phone calls... humm, shall we?

- Phoenix| 3 repliesGot a call from this number, nothing but dead air. Luckily my phone company has a feature called "Selective Call Rejection", so whenever they call they will get a message saying "I'm not accepting calls at this time". Cool feature, check it out with your phone company.

After the ring, an autoattendant picked up and put me through to an operatoe who verified my number and asked if she was speaking to Kristin. She then asked me about Browns Hyundai - she was doing a survey asking about my service, stating I havent been in to the dealership in a while for a service and also asked when I would be in the market for a new car.
I told her I started servicing my car elsewhere because I moved and that I would not be interested in purchasing a new car for another 3 years when my loan was paid off. She thanked me and said goodbye- hopefully this stops the calls...

I called and left a message to ask him to stop and to tell him that I was forwarding all information to the State of Pennsylvania. Also is you call the number back you will get a human, I spoke to a girl named "Rita" and asked her to take my number off of the list. By the way, this is definetly a Call Marketing Company. good luck,

I called today and got an operator; this is an opinion research company. They have our phone numbers becuase we've recently bought a car or recently had service performed on our cars. This means our "friendly auto dealers" are SELLING our data and information. It's not right!

I am retired from running a market research practice. Here's my theory about what's happening. The company is conducting market research ans uses an auto dial system to line up potential participants. They have a bank of interviewers and a soon as they finish one interview, there's another call waiting. No one answers because there isn't an interviewer available to start your interview.
Time is money and the company loses when an interviewer has to wait after completing one interview to begin another. So they program their computer calling system to "over produce" potential interviewees. They have coolly and unethically decided to inconvenience a large number of people with dead calls to maximize the productivity of their interviewers and thus drive down their costs.
About the only thing to do is call their 800 number (costs them money every time you do) and complain. Actually, in a similar situation a few years ago, I got so irritated with a research company that I programmed my computer to call their 800 number about every 15 minutes 24/7 and hang up when someone answered. It took about 3 days before I got a call from the phone company who was investigating the company's complaint. I expressed appropriate dismay and explained that the calls were happening because of a computer glitch with my fax sending software. I had the small satisfaction of costing the firm for about 150 calls to their 800 number. A small but very satisfying victory. :-) - KGot this annoying hang up call today too form 800-364-4092. Got one on my cell from 800-808-7627. Can these calls be blocked?

- Customer Interaction Agent| 1 replyI have read all the posts on this site. What really amazes me is that half of the posts have words spelled incorrectly. Should you really be taken seriously??? You can't even spell!! Our job is a REAL job, we make probably more money than alot of you do, and if you do not want to receive survey calls on behalf of your dealership, don't leave your number with them. Sounds pretty simple, just like alot of you!! The reason why we do call you is because you provided you number to the dealership. If I do not want anyone to call me, I don't give them my phone number! To say we should go to prison is just so stupid! I get calls on my phone, have gotten them way before I worked at this company, and was never rude to anyone. Never would be. When people scream profanities, yell, call us stupid and tell us to get a job, we just wonder how miserable they are with their own lives that they have to yell at someone on the other end of the line. We will never see you (thank goodness), nor talk to you again. Why don't you just ask us to put you on OUR do not call list and we will gladly do it and you will never be called again. So, please, try not to be rude, we do not call you and sit on the line until you answer and hang up on you. Does this make any sense to you? If you do think we do this, I realy feel sorry for you. All I know is that I love my job, all the agents are great people who have wonderful families and good lives and are kind to people who call them on their phones. Have a Great Day! P.S. - DME Rep. replies to Customer Interaction AgentYou know I have read some of these comments...And I have to laugh...I have gotten some of your calls...Those of you who cuss and are rude...All I think when I hang up the phone from you is how sorry I feel for you...I often wonder why are you so angry...Then I think maybe your stressed because your job sucks..maybe your in debit so far that you are choking...You think that when you call us and hang up that you ruin our day...Well let me just explain my day...I have a Cronically Ill child that requires me to be at home during the day... A day filled with nurses and machines and constant visit through out the day... Am I angry NO...I am lucky...Lucky that I have him in my life another day...I have to work nights to keep the lights on for him and food on the table...This Company allows me that freedom...So if all that does not ruin my day, why in the world do you think that you calling and telling me to get a REAL JOB and then hanging up on me would ruin it....As far as a real Job I have one..Actually 2...Is it that we make so much more than you that makes you so mad???
