This flippin number has been calling me every single day, in the morning around 8am and at night between usually 8-9pm. I am with Virgin Mobile, and have had my phone for about 7mth's with no issues like this before until this number. I feel your frusteration people!

Also, for those of you who have called that number back and removed your number, have you had anyone call you back. Just wondering if the taking your number off the list, actually works or if it only worked for maybe a week, etc.

there should be a feature added to phones to block a certain number from EVER being able to call you again unless it is unblocked - just like email features!

I've been getting these calls for a couple of months, 3 times a day. Usually I don't pick up, but when I do, no one. Very irritating.

call # back and it will give you the option to remove you from their telephone list.  Take very little time and it is automated.

I received this call and did not answer. Punched it into my phone and got this thread.
Called PC Financial's Mastercard and tore a strip off them and they refuse to accept any fault.

I then googled Gemma Communications and got a email address
    hohannessian@gemmacom.com

    Hi,

I've removed your number from our calling list.  Yes, your number was provided to us by President's choice.

    Thank you,
    Hera Ohannessian

These calls come from communication centers representing the various legitimate and not so legitimate businesses who hire them. The best way to deal with them is to take your business to a company that doesn't tolerate the way they disrespect their clients. I'm on a national do not call list, but that doesn't seem to stop the telemarketers. If you want to beat them, do so with their own game. When you do connect with one of their phone puppets and they say, "this call is being recorded" for whatever lame excuse they provide, assure them that you are doing the same. When the puppet begins babbling some incoherent shtick, return the favor. There's nothing like mutually recorded nonsense to get your point across. Time is money for these twits and if they know you don't mind wasting theirs, they'll soon get the message. Just mumble like a drunk in a windstorm, interrupt them every few seconds and occasionally offer them dead air when they ask a question. Their bosses will soon learn that you are not a viable investment of time. I do it, and it works.

I have been getting a call from this number once a day for the last week or so.  When ever I pick up all I hear is a beep then it hangs up on me. Never a voice mail, nothing.

They called but I purposely didn't pick up the phone and it went on for quite a long time.
Doesn't these call be technically illegal in a sense because I've heard that some governments successfully fined and charged telemarketing companies for these [***].

Oh right, they charged companies for 'false businesses and scams', this falls short to be 'annoying people with *possible* unknown business'.

Them being a French based company, I can imagine the sort of [***] they do for money.

They have been calling what seems like incessantly for the few weeks.  I have never picked up, and when it goes to the answering machine they sometimes get tricked by the "silence" and start into spewing something about President's Choice Financial.  I will attempt to pick up next time to tell them to eff off.

I have answered several times and told them I'm not interested in the balance protection, but they still call back. I finally called the number back and got an automated service to have my name removed from their list. I hope it works. I don't mind hearing from companies I do business with, but I DO mind them calling over and over for something I've already declined.
