file Charges with your local police. - UnknownThis number calls constantly on my cell and tries to put me on hold. If you call it back it asks if the last four numbers of your account is 8506 or some other random digit and then says if it's not please enter your entire account number. It never says who they are or what account they are talking about. This is a scam DO NOT ENTER ANY ACCOUNT NUMBERS!!!

- dreamwalkerI get 15 or 20 calls a day from these kind folk, as well as numerous others. I owe no-one any money, as I do not use credit.
So, I came up with the following strategy: I have a 'headset telephone,' left over from another endeavor. I simply put the mic part of the headset up against one of my stereo speakers; when they call, I play them a couple minutes of music (Free, artistic license, of course), then hang up.
If these numerous recti are going to annoy me, I'm going to cost them thru their phone bill.
I encourage others to act likewise. Think up something creative. But *COST THEM* money :)
It could turn into a grassroots movement!- Caller: "Toll Free Call"

- TaliIt has just started for me today, but they only let my phone ring once and hang up...and I too decided to google the number. Does everyone realize these phone calls have been going on since 2005??? Nothing has been done about this 5 years later??? Has anyone talked to any government agency at all? If so what were their reactions to this harassment and their advice with dealing with it?

They do not sem to have a system except that to bother others, You have bothered me. Now please STOP - ajb replies to Fawkes| 6 repliesIf the government TRULY wanted to stimulate the economy, they would bail out the country's citizens (and NOT the folks who sign bad mortgages with no or bad credit for homes they could not afford in the first place), reform credit card & lending pratices (via the law), protect borrowers from collectors (with in reason), REGULATE the credit scoring agencies (got CRAP on my report from someone who isn't even me and I can't get them to remove it) AND protect citizens from identity theft by (1) not letting any other company or institution to use social security numbers as identification, (2) putting laws into place to boldly discipline those who steal identities/credit cards (sorry ... 30 days community service does NOT cut it with me) AND protect the victims of identity theft from the credit reporting acgencies and collectors.
- Linda McCartneyThey are calling 4-6 times daily, my fax line and my home phone. I don't answer. There is never a message left. Must be automated
- very frustrated replies to callerhellI am receiving the same annoying calls. I do not answer because it's a prepaid phone and money is very tight. I can not afford to waste the minutes to answer. I've only had my phone and new phone number for 2 weeks now. I don't even know who these people are, yet they call almost every half hour, every day, at home and work, including Sundays. I'd turn off my phone when not in use, but I should not have to. I thought this was a free country!! I also have a member of my family very sick, and on a donor's list, so I keep my phone on for that call. My next step may be an attorney and charges of harassment!
- michiganderThey call here every hour on the hour, starting at 8am EST. I spoke to someone at 8am this morning, they asked for my father. I said he's elderly, ill, and not available for the next several days. They kept calling every hour anyways.
Finally at 11am I answered again, was instantly on hold. When a lady answered, she asked for my father again. I said "as I told the gentleman who rudely called at 8 this mornng, he is elderly, he is ill, and he is not available for several days. It is illegal to call here more than once if you've already spoken to someone. Call again I will report to the Attorny General's Office." She stated they'd keep calling till they speak directly to him, because its his personal business matter.
It may be his bill, but its MY phone. And I know all his bills are current, as he's very careful about his finances. I'm reporting them to the MI Att Gen Office, and if they keep calling, I'll also file a police report on harrassment.
If anybody has better luck getting them to stop the harrassing calls, please let me know - brokennunloved (at) Yahoo (dot) com- Caller: unknown
- LAMET replies to reederDNC DOES TOO WORK FOR CELL PHONES - YOU HAVE TO REGISTER THEM!
DNC does not apply to busineses you already have a relationship with - so if you have an HSBC Account - they are not violating the DNC laws. If its the collections dept and you are behind they can call.
If you do not have an account and they refuse to stop calling - they are in violation of the DNC laws - IF THE PHONE NUMBER IS REGISTERED! - sick of itI get call 4/5 times a day, the other night it was 8:55PM. I am on the do not call list for all phones. It is time for someone to do something about these people.
- Angry Steve| 1 replyJust started today. 6 calls as of 9:15PM (CDT)
I have debt, but am not in default on any of it. I'm paying my car payments on time, am 6 mo. ahead on my mortgage, and haven't missed a CC payment in about 12 years.
I would like these calls to end.
